Between the three of us, we shared au gratin potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese, and fresh asparagus with hollandaise sauce, all of which were excellent."

  • "I had the pleasure of dining here on Saturday night. Everything was simply wonderful-the service, food and ambiance. Our waiter, Jose, was very attentive and friendly. Since this was our first time their, he took the time to explain the menu items to us. The lobster mac n cheese was delicious. I ordered from Ruth's Class: filet w/shrimp, green beans and bread pudding for dessert. Everything was very tasty, but the toasted coconut and pineapple bread pudding was mouth-watering delicious! My friend ordered the regular sized bread pudding with whiskey sauce to take home. That too, was delicious. Love this place! We will be returning soon."

He could barely understand or speak English - I don't blame him specifically because English is not his first language and I feel he was not ready to be put in the position of dealing directly with customers. We actually thought he was on a training night but with no supervision."

  • "This was my 2nd time to dine at Ruth's Chris steakhouse, but first visit to the new location. The new place is so much nicer, you actually feel like you are dining at a nice steak restaurant. Our server, Terry was great. She recommend a great and very reasonably priced bottle of Cabernet. (2011 50 Acres, California, $44 bottle / $11 glass). We started with the spicy lobster appetizer and also the ahi tuna. Both were amazing! We each had the petite filet, I opted for the oscar topping and he opted for the blue cheese topping, both were excellent. It was a truly enjoyable evening in a great location."

  • "Same great food as the old/original location, but the servers need factual professional training to measure up to the quality & pricing of the food. The servers bringing water, bread, etc. to the table were simply sloppy, amateurish, & SLOW. Asked for additional bread not once, or twice, but three times before it finally arrived at the very END of the meal. In response to our complaint we were told it had been "warming" all that time --- 40 minutes of warming? Absurd. WHERE is Management at this restaurant?"

  • "When I'm feeling rich and want a properly seered steak, I go to Ruth's Chris Steak House. The new version on Westheimer is very well appointed and the service was, as always, good. It may have been me, but the crab cake to start was plenty crabby, but missing the heat and spice to which I was anticipating, Jose, our server,. tried to laddle something on the naked cake, but the chef didn't give him much to work with. The strip stake was seered right but well past medium rare. The shoestring fries were limp and probably suffered from the time they waited for my steak to be over-cooked. I don't send things back: I just don't go back."

  • "We waited several minutes to get our car parked, then we were ignored at the hostess station for several minutes. When we complained the restaurant was too warm, we were told the AC was broken. Why weren't we called in advance and told this or offered a free drink or appetizer or meal discount, to compensate? The floor at the hostess station was sticky and dirty even tho our reservation was early. We asked to be seated far from the baby at the restaurant, was told we would be, and then were seated only two tables away despite the whole restaurant being empty at that time. Then, the food just was not the excellent quality we always had there previously; it was no better than any standard steak place and not worth the money."

  • "Friday's reservation was impossible to come by, so we settled for Sunday. Sunday at 6:30pm was pleasant and relaxing at Ruth's, no rush no overcrowding. Ribeye and Twin Lobster tails was great. The steak was good and the lobster was succulent and not a bit overcooked. It was a enjoyable evening."

Our waiter Jeff also did a fantastic job. The sweet potatoes were some of the best I've ever had. I would recommend going here for a special occasion or romantic dinner. I will definitely dine at Ruth Chris again it was an awesome experience ."

However, the restaurant did not have our table ready for us despite the fact that I made the reservation over a month in advance. We had to wait over 20 minutes. I can understand some waiting while they are cleaning a table but this was not a good way to start a special evening."

  • "This was New Year's Eve -- so it was understandable that it might be crowded and the service slow. It was NOT understandable that the food would be horrible and that several orders would be so overdone that we would have to send them back and then wait an eternity for their replacements. On top of which our orders were not all brought out at the same time, or even close. I have been here before when the food has been excellent and the service strong, so I am hoping this was a one-time aberration. As we chose the restaurant for a family dinner/special occasion (and spent quite a bit of money in doing so), it will probably be a LONG time before I am willing to take my family back there (or before they are willing to give it a 2nd chance)."

  • "I have visited Ruth's Chris many times over the years but until Friday night, always at the older Richmond location, dating back to the 70's when the walls were covered with Oil Company logos hanging on the walls (one of which was my company). Food and service were always top notch, but the ambiance seemed to age and did not align with the quality of food and service. I am happy to say that after visiting the new location on Westheimer, the excitement is back. Food and service were wonderful as always, but the new atmosphere is updated, fresh, and very classy. I went with my brother and our wives, and all had a wonderful time. We'll be back!"

  • "The fillets were cooked just right & sides were tasty. Gergio was a great waiter! The Happy Birthday texts on the table & the dessert were nice touches! The $60 for 2 18 year single malts was pricey, but it was a special occasion. If you want a nice place to enjoy an intimate fine meal, Ruth Chris is hard to beat!"
