  • "we waited 45 minutes for our table. granted we wanted a particular section of the restaurant. we had the same person waiting on us as before. she wasn't very good the first time and not much of an improvement this time. two of our steaks were grilled wrong. one not enough, the other too much. their food is great, so i can't say what happened this time. i will say they need better wait staff."

  • "This place is great, don't get me wrong. The recent move gives RC a whole new charm/class, and the service was outstanding. The crab cakes appetizer was dense with crab and superb, the small salad was expertly prepared, and the steaks were predictably top notch. For sides, though, the broccoli au gratin and potatoes au gratin were really just thick cheese dishes. I had never seen broccoli that consumed by thick, almost cheddar-like, cheese. I expected a little more finesse in the preparation of these dishes. The broccoli au gratin item really doesn't even need to be on the menu, for what its worth. We had younger kids with us, is why we ordered it. I'll be back!"

  • "My husband and I have made it a tradition to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Ruth's Chris. It began in Aruba, continued in Virginia, and now moves forward one more year in Houston. We had a wonderful meal of the petite filet and salmon, and was delighted with the quality and preparation. The best part, of course, was the special dessert plate wishing us a "Happy Anniversary." One special note that the Houston location may want to consider: At our celebration in Virginia, our photo was taken and presented to us in a Ruth's Chris photo frame along with our dessert. It was a nice touch, and one we were sort of looking forward to in Houston. Although slightly disappointed, we stilll enjoyed our celebration."

  • "I have had some amazing food over the years, but Ruth Chris was amazing!!! Better than Del Frisco's, Flemings, etc. The service was incredible as well. I had the filet with creamed spinach and lobster mac and cheese. My boyfriend had the NY strip with spinach au gratin and sweet potato casserole. It all just melts in your mouth. We do not eat pork or pork products, so it was refreshing to find creamed spinach without bacon and a sweet potato casserole without marshmallows. We will definitely be back!"

From Houston to Hong Kong the food is always of the finest quality, perfectly prepared, courteously and efficiently served. Dining at Ruth's Chris - Houston is always a wonderful experience. This was our first time at the new location and it did not disappoint. We cannot wait for an occasion to return for some pampering by the excellent staff from the hostesses tontje servers professionalism is exemplified. Our waiter, John, was wonderful and a true asset to the restaurant! Thanks John for making an intimate little birthday dinner with my husband so special."

  • "We went to Ruth's Chris to celebrate my daughter's birthday and the food/cocktails were outstanding. The table was decorated for her birthday and a complimentary desert was served. Our steaks were all cooked to perfection, EXACTLY as we had specified. This was our first time at their new location and I have to say that it is a definite step up. We will definitely return and it remains our number one choice for special occasions."

  • "It was our first time at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and it was just okay. We are regulars at The Capital Grille and Ruth's Chris doesn't compare to them. I felt like the steak was something I could do at home and it taste better. Wasn't wowed. If I'm paying $50 for a steak I want something amazing*! Not saying it was bad, don't get me wrong it was good but won't be going back because I can't justify paying that much when the capital grille is so much better!!!!"

The food was great although took forever and our server was almost non-existent! Used to love this place, but it looks like they need new staff or better yet new management! She ain't what she used to be and certainly not what you pay for!"

  • "I have been a huge fan of Ruth's for many years. Although I am delighted that the Houston location moved into it new spot, the service my wife & I received Saturday night was way below 'par'. Apparently the waiter was new and/or just not doing the job that he is best suited for with his skills set (or should I say lack of skills set). He got 4 out of the 8 things we ordered wrong and we went without a drink at first for about 15 minutes (it was wrong when it finally came) and also were never asked for a 2nd glass of wine?????? That cost the restaurant $$$$ and the waited most of his tip! Ruth's is better than that, as the food always shines through. Our only complaint there was the crab cakes were terrible. Everything else was spot on!"

  • "Never had a bad experience there until this one. Fried Lobster appetizer-very tasty. My wife's filet, which was to be medium was medium rare and my ribeye, which was to be be medium rare was medium/medium well. Waiter summoned the manager but did not notify us. Because it was late, we switched plates and began eating. When the manager arrived, I explained that my wife's beef must be adequately cooked because she had a transplant and takes immunosuppressants. He said he could have replacements out "in no more than a minute." We were already late (and disbelieving) so I asked for consideration on the bill instead. Instead we were given a free dessert to share. Low-end restaurant consideration from a high end eatery. Disappointing."

After our salads were served, we sat with 3 empty tea glasses, 2 empty club soda glasses and miscellaneous dirty utensils until the bill was brought. We finished our meal and waited so long for the waitress to return that we passed on dessert just so we could leave. It will be awhile before we return."

While the first few visits were nothing to complain about, it was never up to par to the old location; however, this was just right. It seems like there may have been some adjusting that had to be done, but they are back at it, and everything was as wonderful as it had always been."

  • "I had the pleasure of dining here on Saturday night. Everything was simply wonderful-the service, food and ambiance. Our waiter, Jose, was very attentive and friendly. Since this was our first time their, he took the time to explain the menu items to us. The lobster mac n cheese was delicious. I ordered from Ruth's Class: filet w/shrimp, green beans and bread pudding for dessert. Everything was very tasty, but the toasted coconut and pineapple bread pudding was mouth-watering delicious! My friend ordered the regular sized bread pudding with whiskey sauce to take home. That too, was delicious. Love this place! We will be returning soon."

  • "This was my 2nd time to dine at Ruth's Chris steakhouse, but first visit to the new location. The new place is so much nicer, you actually feel like you are dining at a nice steak restaurant. Our server, Terry was great. She recommend a great and very reasonably priced bottle of Cabernet. (2011 50 Acres, California, $44 bottle / $11 glass). We started with the spicy lobster appetizer and also the ahi tuna. Both were amazing! We each had the petite filet, I opted for the oscar topping and he opted for the blue cheese topping, both were excellent. It was a truly enjoyable evening in a great location."

He could barely understand or speak English - I don't blame him specifically because English is not his first language and I feel he was not ready to be put in the position of dealing directly with customers.   • "Same great food as the old/original location, but the servers need factual professional training to measure up to the quality & pricing of the food. The servers bringing water, bread, etc. to the table were simply sloppy, amateurish, & SLOW. Asked for additional bread not once, or twice, but three times before it finally arrived at the very END of the meal. In response to our complaint we were told it had been "warming" all that time --- 40 minutes of warming? Absurd. WHERE is Management at this restaurant?"

  • "When I'm feeling rich and want a properly seered steak, I go to Ruth's Chris Steak House. The new version on Westheimer is very well appointed and the service was, as always, good. It may have been me, but the crab cake to start was plenty crabby, but missing the heat and spice to which I was anticipating, Jose, our server,. tried to laddle something on the naked cake, but the chef didn't give him much to work with. The strip stake was seered right but well past medium rare. The shoestring fries were limp and probably suffered from the time they waited for my steak to be over-cooked. I don't send things back: I just don't go back."
