  • "You can't go wrong with lunch here. It's always excellent."

  • "My husband and I always enjoy Ruth Chris. We expect to get the most delicious steak and usually do. The plates come extremely hot and still sizzling which is fine but this time I think it turned my medium rare petite filet into well done on the outside. It was dry on the outside, very dry! I couldn't eat it. I should have sent it back but I didn't. My husband and son got the strip steak and loved it."

  • "If your looking for the best steak in Pittsburgh go to Ruth Chris..."

  • "As always Rurh Chris doesn't disappoint, the food is great and Kathi's service was awsome."

  • "Steak was pretty good. Veal Chop was so fatty, it was hard to eat. Ruth Chris compensated for chop with delicious desserts."

  • "We went to Ruth Chris because we had been to them down in Florida and always had really good experiences. Although the ambiance isn't what you would expect from a restaurant of that caliber the food and the service always made up for what it lacked in style. However, this Ruth Chris in Pittsburgh was simply fair all the way around. We will most likely not be back to this location just because we were so unimpressed with everything. Nothing incredibly wrong, just nothing that was able to leave an impression. The food was bland, the service was dry and robotic, and the ambiance reminded us of a Denny's ."

  • "Ruth's Chris always has great food, but the one in Pittsburgh had amazing service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, including ordering us a cab when we requested and keeping us up to date on its progress."

  • "I took my SO here for his birthday (on a Saturday). We got the Ruth's Classic: Rib-eye. The salads were underwhelming (like something you would get a salad bar) but the steak. WOW! Juicy, tender mmm'mm. The cauliflower au gratin was really really good except the topping of shredded cheddar it didn't mesh well. The mashed potatoes were too airy for my taste, I preferred them dense however, my SO really liked them. I got the dessert that came with it, the Toasted Coconut Pineapple Bread Pudding w/ Coconut and Macadamia Bark- the bark was really really good, Bread Pudding was...interesting. He got the Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake (for an up-charge) WOW that was really good. Overall the experience was good but nothing memorable."

  • "It was funny my wife noticed she said oh how beautiful are these flowers on this table. I reached for the card and handed it to her to read and I said to her Happy Birthday. And she didn't realized those flowers was for her."

  • "We ordered the porterhouse for two just as we had the last time we were here plus the cottage fries. You would have thought it was the exact same meal.......quality, consistant, treatment are all at the top of the list."

  • "Took my girlfriend here for our two year anniversary. Far exceeded our expectations. Service was outstanding! Food was amazing! Even offered her a black napkin to match her black pants. (Still not even sure why, but we took it as a plus!) Way better than our first year anniversary experience! Also was greeted by employee and had a pleasant conversation while we waited to be seated. Afterwards i found out that he was the manager or an assistance. Needless to say i never had that sort of experience with a manager. Wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly as well!"

  • "As usual we had great food and great service. We had a tight time frame and our waiter accommodated us."

  • "Of all the upscale steakhouses, Ruth's Chris ranks right up there. The steaks really do come out sizzling and the service is friendly, efficient and not overbearing as can happen in upscale places. We shared 6 oysters (3 different varieties) a wonderful bottle of wine and a great ribeye. Always a good meal!"

  • "We went to this restaurant for a double birthday lunch celebration. We experienced quick and efficient service and the birthday celebrants were presented a special birthday treat. Very thoughtful."

  • "Our server was very gracious and helpful. The food runner was quick and very professional. My fiancée is a server herself at a less reputable establishment and stared on in fascination as the 500 degree plates were delivered with a dual sense of promptness and ease. We ordered our first course from the list of specials, blackened scallops served with pesto and a garnish of julliene carrots. The three large scallops had a beautiful sear and were cooked to perfection. The same can be said about our porterhouse that we shared. Great sear, perfect temp, rested and juicy, and Hot at mid rare. For our sides we ordered from the specials again, going with the Brussels and bacon as well as the wild mushrooms with demi glace. Both excellent."

  • "You might think that because its a chain, Ruth's Chris would be average. However, this is by far the best steak I've had in Pittsburgh. Expensive, but when you take into account the quality of steak, as well as the size of the sides, it's well worth it. I don't know how Ruth's Chris maintains such a high level of quality among all of its steak houses across the country, all I know is its the best steak I've ever had"

  • "This place is for you! Perfectly done to your specification. Have dined here a number of times and also have hosted several events at Ruth's Chris and have never been disappointed in food or wait staff. In my opinion, famed Peter Lugar's in NYC can't hold a candle to this Pgh gem. Added plus is convenient parking garage underground."

  • "Once again we had another memorable dinner at Ruth's Chris. From the delicious crab cake appetizer, juicy steaks, great wine selections & dessert, it was a fantastic post Valentine's Day dinner. I especially want to point out how well they do with reservations. Almost every time we go there the restaurant is completely booked for the evening and we never have to wait for our table. Unlike the restaurant we went to the night before that was completely over-booked with a crowd of people waiting to be seated. Kudos to the staff that cares for reservations. This restaurant continues to be my favorite in Pittsburgh!"

  • "My steak had obviously been up for a while bc the steak was no longer a medium pink in the center and the plate was scorching hot to touch. The overall taste and presentation of the food was a lower quality than I had experienced at Ruth's Chris several years ago.The service was not bad but not very attentive either. I had previously placed Ruth's Chris at the level with Morton's and The Capital Grill. I am now sorry I did not place our reservation there. I will not be returning any time soon."

  • "Wife & I tried out RC's as we have been to Mortons & Capital Grille - had the filet & the ribeye both were good but nothing to write home about - HOWEVER the Sweet Potato Casserole - OMG awesome - I will go back JUST for that side! Great service too"
    Dined on 2/8/2014
  • "Thoroughly enjoyed the Bone-In Ribeye but the lobster bisque was mediocre at best. For me, I felt that the back dining room lacked the atmosphere of the main dining room (personal preference). I will know to request the main dining room next time. Kudos to the staff, they made the overall experience memorable and the steak spoke for itself."

  • "The food was great and the service was good. Just leave yourself enough time if you have someplace to be after dinner. I thought 2 hours was enough time to make it to our show, but we were sat late and didn't have enough time to enjoy dessert. Other than that, it was a great meal."

  • "Food was good. I would it expect it to be a little better for the price."

  • "Our first time here. Had the filet and sweet potato casserole. Both were delicious! Typical pricing for an upscale restaurant. Very impressed and would dine there again."

  • "Took my college age son for his first "great" steak after traveling to Pittsburgh for a ball game. did not disappoint. It was beyond great and now he understands what a great steak is all about."
    Dined on 12/22/2013
  • "Great dining experience, just hard for me to get excited with those prices. I never did understand the popularity of these steak houses. (Can't imagine it matters what I think, they were very busy) At any rate, the best thing is that when you order a steak medium, it actually comes out that way. Our service was terrific, and my food was prepared well. Nothing I couldn't make at home."

  • "We have been to Ruth Chris many times, and there are no better steaks to be found! On this visit, the food was excellent as always. Service was good but so quick that we felt rushed -- very little time between getting drinks and appetizer, likewise between main course an dessert. Unfortunately my husband and I were seated in an area with large groups around us, several with small children that were noisy. I did wonder whether the reservation through OpenTable (rather than calling the restaurant directly) relegated us to undesirable status. Enjoyed the meal, but ambience was like Denny's instead of an upscale restaurant."

  • "I have eaten at Ruth's Chris Steak House many times over the last few years and it is so consistent - always a great meal with very professional service. The petite filet is great, the sweet potato side dish is something I always order and their blue cheese dressing is fantastic. Expensive, but worth it!"

  • "The food was so horribly spicy that we had to send the mashed potatoes and corn back. We also noticed that the table beside us did too and they were a table of four men..."

  • "Thanks again for making our Daughter's birthday so special.......we come several times a year but her birthday is a special occasion for us! M"

  • "We eat at Ruth's Chris for lunch anytime we are in downtown Pittsburgh. They have a lunch special that beats out any other steakhouse in the area.. A petite filet, soup or salad, side dish drink AND dessert for one price.! The food is consistently good and waitstaff knowledgeable and attentive.. Patrick, the manager, is the consummate "host". I have eaten at other Ruth's Chris restaurants in Phoenix and Orlando and our Pittsburgh store puts the others to shame!"
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "Again, Ruth Chris, did not disappoint. Had some wonderful lunch specials that included steak, salad or soup, vegetable and potato along with drink and dessert.. How do you beat that? Wonderful attentive service!"

  • "When dining, there really is no comparison to this place in Pittsburgh. Simply the best. The food is to die for and the service, sublime!"

  • "As always I found the food to be very good at Ruth's Chris."

  • "Our vegetables were all cold except the mashed potatoes. The broccoli and the brussel sprouts were ice cold when served. It was hard to eat them that way - a disappointment. We could not locate our waitress soon enough to tell her so that we could have hot ones delivered in time to eat with our meal. If we had waited our steaks would have then been cold. The waitress was semi-friendly and didn't cause it to be the 5 star experience it could have been. The steaks were excellent and the wine was wonderful."

  • "After being extremely disappointed with another high end steakhouse in Pittsburgh we decided to go back to our favorite. We were not disappointed. Melt in your mouth filets, amazing sides, and great shrimp. Decided to try something new this time...the lobster bisque. Wow am I glad I did. That was worth the entire visit. Best Lobster Bisque I have ever tasted. And the service was top notch as well. Overall just amazing. Felt welcome, ate amazingly well, left stuffed. Perfection."
