  • "Ruth's Chris is extremely consistent in their delivering superbly prepared steaks, well done sides, and an atmosphere where you can celebrate a special occasion and hold a normal conversation around the table. There are many fine steakhouses in NY, but even the best are only equal in terms of their food offerings, but their noise levels are so far beyond reasonable that at prime times you are literally yelling at your fellow diners just to be heard. This is still one of our favorite places to head to when we celebrate special occasions, and their mid-town location is extremely convenient."

  • "Our waiter was terrific, although I've been there many times, it was my date's first time. He loved it! We shared the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection!! Loved the half bottle wine since we had to go to a show afterwards didn't want to drink too much. Overall it was a fabulous experience."

  • "Being from Philly, we wanted to make sure we had a good dinner before we went to the theater. From our experience, we can usually count on Ruth's Chris to be exceptional. We had an early reservation (6pm) due to having the theater tickets. They sat us in the upstairs dining room, which apparently had just opened since only a few other tables were occupied. The service was fantastic, professional & friendly. The food was wonderful. We were finished with plenty of time to get to our theater."

  • "I have been to Ruth's Chris on several occassions and this experience was horrible. The waiter stopped by the table once to take the order and again to drop off the check. The food was not the best I have received while dining at a Ruth's Chris establishment. In spite of the horrible experience, we still left the waiter a decent tip for our $350.00 bill. As we were walking out the door the waiter had the nerve to approach my group about the tip that was left. Needless to say, I will never frequent this establishment again."

  • "Everyone in my party took advantage or their Restaurant Week menu. I took advantage of the extras and add-on's to that menu. I opted for the Calamari as an appetizer which was excently prepared with a sweet chili sauce. I them wanted to try their salmon but Niel persuaded me to try their steak which I then paired with jumbo grilled shrimp. I'm glad I took his recommendation, the steak was juicy and well seasoned. I didn't have the desert because of my cake and cupcakes but all my guest raved about how good the bread pudding and chocolate cake was. I'm glad I choose this place to host my birthday dinner. I can honestly say that it was my favorite birthday dinner I've had yet."

  • "I had to return my steak because it was overcooked. The least you want at a steak house when you are paying $90 for a piece of meat is to have to return your food for it being overcooked! The appetizer we had was lobster and the sauce was so overpowering that you could not even taste lobster. I went because friends gave us a gift card but would not go back ever again."

  • "The server was incredibly rude, judge mental, and short with our table. It was as if he didn't want to wait on our table. Which really put a damper on my birthday. The food was phenomenal, and we enjoyed ourselves. Luckily there was another person, perhaps a server, who was extremely helpful, took pictures for us, and made us feel welcomed."

  • "We ate here with one other couple. 5:30 reservation, no problem, seated immediately in a comfortable booth. Our waiter Frank was very experienced, attentive, and professional. We had three steaks: the cowboy and two ribeye's. The other person ordered the samon with crab meat. My steak was overdone, the samon also seemed a bit underdone, the other two had no complaints. Some vegetables on a side plate, nothing fancy, no flair. Overall the location, service & atmosphere were top notch and the food was resting on traditional hot buttered steak on a plate."

  • "Been to Ruth's Chris a few times already. The service and food been good. But this time was a bit different. I was seated all the way in the back room which is fine but the tables felt crowned and I was explained its cause that day was the last day of restaurant week. The food came slower than other tables but food tasted good as usual. One thing I saw which I didn't appreciate was one of the waiter for the table next to us. He grabbed the bill/tip as the group of people were leaving and just stood there and expected those costumer to pay more tip. I saw the woman pull out 2 more bill and then the waiter left. He might have not received the tips he expected but that is just very unprofessional."

  • "The food at Ruth's Chris is consistently delicious. Our recent visit was no exception. This visit however was made even more wonderful because we had an amazing server. Christian and his team were very attentive and went above and beyond in making our evening spectacular. For example, when Christian noticed me cutting my daughters filet, he immediately took over and finished cutting it for her. He engaged in conversation with our kids and made their evening special too. We cannot wait to get back to the city and we will definitely be requesting Christian as our server."

However, in NYC, one does expect food that is of a higher quality level. The food was awful and expensive! As New Yorkers making a last minute reservation in the Theatre District, we were probably the only non-tourist in the restaurant. Understandably!"

They didn't make you feel cheap for going there during restaurant week which happens often. Great lunch, perfect sizing and very satisfied. Thanks!"

  • "Our meal went beyond even our best expectations. I was initially leery about going to a high end steak restaurant after a prior unpleasant experience at Bobby Van's. Once their staff and management knew that we were choosing a Restaurant Week menu, the service and attitude changed precipitously, and not for the better. Here, everything was magical from start to finish. As soon as we walked in for lunch, we were treated like valued customers. The service was superb, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Steaks were seasoned and cooked to perfection, the creamed spinach and sweet potato casseroles were perfect accompaniments, and the chocolate mouse cake was a velvety rich masterpiece. A terrific choice for any event!"

Everything from drinks to desserts was excellent. Our waiter. who was from Maryland, was AWESOME and even told our girls about Denver the dog on Youtube - so we laughed till we cried. This location and this server - simply the BEST! Thank you for a particularly enjoyable evening."

  • "We had a lovely dinner before a show. Asked and received a quiet table. Love being able to talk, hear and not being part of everyone else's conversations. There was a minor splash of butter onto my scarf when the waiter served my steak. He was besides himself with apologies, took the scarf, cleaned it and offered us a beautiful dessert as an apology. These things happen but it was handled very well."

  • "Of all the places I've been to eat in NYC for steak; this was the BEST one I have ever eaten. Whether it was the plate being a sizzling 500 degrees or the fact that there isn't much to the preparation, it was melt in your mouth delicious. The fact that I always like my food to be a little bit hotter than the average person. It was cooked to perfection. My company was also wonderful as I dinned with my fiance, she enjoyed her meals just as much as I enjoyed mine. Great job Ruth & Chris to keep this legacy going."

  • "I didn't realized it has outdoor seating so I can't comment, however inside it's spacious and seating is comfortable. Everything we had was absolutely delicious!!!! I have no complaints and will be returning. We were able to enjoy the happy hour and my favorite drink is 'Blackberry Sidecar' and when low on funds for dinner I can alway do appertizers and drinks at the bar for Happy Hour. Loved it."
