  • "The steaks are very good. Everything else disappoints. I asked our server to describe the steaks and quality to our guests from France. What we got, in addition, to the factoid that she was a 17 year veteran, was a reading of the chef's specials. No enthusiasm and downright boring. I then did her job after she left. A little spark can help sell lots of $51 bone in fillets! Any requested change resulted in a botched dish - smaller Caesar salad was interpreted as a salad with light dressing! I have been visiting this restaurant for years, and it gets more dowdy each year. I now get why other steakhouses get more favorable reviews. They are taking their clients for granted and the empty house I visited the other night, is proof."

When I made the reservation I informed them I was celebrating my 15 year anniversary and when we got to the table they had sprinkled some little hearts and had a card congratulating us on our anniversary. Ruth Chris did it up right for us and I thank then for the experience."

  • "This is the second time that we have visited Ruth's Chris in Nashville and had to endure a burned steak. I wanted the Lamb chops but they were out. I ordered a New York strip instead , so did my wife. Hers came out extra charred again. It happened on Valentines day also, last year. I ordered mine medium we'll it was ok. The service was excellent."

  • "I am a Ruths Chris loyal eating at the restaurant more than 30 times a year all over the country. The experience in Nashville was the worst I have ever had, and I have never had a bad Ruths Chris dinner or experience. The tables were so close the fire department needs to inspect them. The Thin fries came out burnt the first time and the waiter was nowhere to be found. Dinner was served sporadically and we poured our own $1550 bottle of wine. Do not go to Ruths Chris in Nashville I never provide reviews and I lived in Nashville when Ruths Chris moved to their current location. Ate thee 3 days a week and it used to be great They need to close it down, moved it and start again"

  • "This was my first visit to Ruth Chris. We were celebrating my wife's 60th birthday and my retirement. The food was excellent (best steak I have ever eaten) and the ambiance was nice. The service was slow and lacking to be honest. Our server after initially greeting us did not re-appear for about 10 minutes only to inform us with a tray of drinks in hand he would return shortly to take our order as he had been asked to serve a group at the other end of the restaurant that included a well-known Nashville superstar. After waiting at least another 5-7 minutes he returned to take our order. With the assistance from other servers our food began arriving, though I am still waiting for the bread refill we asked for three times."

  • "As always, the staff inside Ruth's Chris was great. They made my daughters 13th birthday dinner memorable. The only negative of the night was the totally unprofessional valet attendant. He acted like someone who was told they could make a few bucks and do little in return. After grabbing my tip, he walked away without even opening the car door for my daughter. At least I could show her how it's not supposed to be done."

  • "I took my fiancee to Ruth's Chris over Valentine's Day weekend. I was a little nervous because the meal was definitely going to stretch our budget. We weren't disappointed! We both ordered petite filets, split the sweet potato casserole and asparagus, and ordered a glass of wine each with dinner. There's nothing "petite" about the petite filet. We both felt that this was plenty of steak. It was cooked perfectly to our desired medium rare. I was disappointed when I got to the last bite because I didn't want it to end! My only complaint is that the glasses of wine took aboute five minutes to come out following our food. This wasn't a big deal, however, as the steaks stayed warm on the 500F plates. Overall, this was an amazing experience!"

  • "Appetizer, crab stuffed mushrooms; sides of asparagus w/ Hollandaise and scalloped potatoes excellent. I always wondered how Ruth's Chris serves steaks on 400 degree plates without burning the butter; this time both my wife's filet and my ribeye seemed "blackened" by the butter. They made a big deal upon seating us - and several other couples around us as the night wore on - about changing out the white napkins "for dark ones so you don't wind up with white lent on your dark clothes." That was the pretentious part tonight: why not just use dark napkins, or make the exchange quietly without all the self- serving fanfare? Overall good meal and adequate service."

  • "How does one compare steakhouses from the one chain? The menu is identical, the wine list usually is;. It's the service that differentiates. We lucked out on this particular evening. We were staying at the Loews Vanderbilt and its building contains a Ruth's Chris. The food was as we expected: good steaks, perfectly cooked and generous sides that we could share. We splurged on the wine and weren't disappointed. The real value came in the form of Joe, our server. He was friendly, skilled, knowledgeable and a real contributor to our very pleasant experience. Now, that's what makes the difference in a chain steakhouse."

  • "I've been to Ruth Chris in other cities but this one lacks! Lighting too dark to see your food. My steak was very fatty and grizzled since lighting was so dark couldn't cut around it. Busy busy bust hotel restaurant .... So service begins to downgrade. Some man hurriedly going through resturant stops at our table only to find out he was probably a manager and quickly asked about meal. Don't think he cared just doing his job. Next time Morton's"

  • "I've always heard great things about Ruth's Chris and never believed them, until now. I had the 11oz filet and it was perfect. Close to being the best and most perfect steak I've had. I had mine medium-rare and it was cooked exactly as it should be. Their steaks are served on hot plates that will keep your meal warm for almost your entire meal. Service was slow at first, but once they came around, it was great after that."

  • "I love coming to Ruth Chris...the wine list is extensive, Sam & Shawn (the managers) always stop by and say hi (always a plus in my book), but when I came in with some of my coworkers and our significant others recently, we felt a little rushed throughout the whole meal, which was a little off putting because I usually feel like I can relax and spend the entire night there and everyone couldn't be happier that we're still there. Anyways it may seem nit-pickey but that's just how I, and a few of the other people at the table felt...the food was delicious, we all left full (both with food and wine) and plan on being back soon"

When it arrived hers looked and tasted good, where mine was the end of the filet, filled with grizzle. Gave other half to my dog when I got home. At these prices, all cuts should be center cut prime beef as advertised. I feel ripped off."

  • "I had been to the Ruth's Chris on the Big Island of Hawaii and was very disappointed so I wasn't sure what to expect at another location but this is my parents' favorite restaurant, as well as my niece's birthday, and I wanted to treat them. Actually we had an extended family dinnner of 9 people and I must say, I was very impressed. From the start, our server, Tony, was absolutely excellent! He told the story of Ruth's Chris and was very delightful. The filets were giant and cooked perfectly, the ribeyes were also very good (although I think maybe had a tad too much fat but it was tasty fat) and the sides were also very good. It was a perfect evening!"
