  • "While my husband and I have been to this Ruth's Chris many times before and have always enjoyed it, our last visit left much to be desired regarding service. We were greeted by one service member but as his station became busier, we were pushed off to another "co-server", who did an O.K. job. We ended up pouring our own wine as needed. Not characteristic of a four star rated restaurant. The orginal server only came to the table after we had been given the bill. My husband was so angry, he stratched out the name of the "server"on the bill. Will we be back?--Possibly but not seated with Jason B."

I made a reservation and followed the protocol but was relegated to waiting in the hotel lobby while others were seated in a polite and timely manner. Was seated well beyond the reservation time."

  • "Without a doubt the best restaurant I have ever been at. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that the steak wasn't quite as good as the Chicago Chop House, but easily comes in second. Took my wife here for her Birthday....and all I can say is WOW. They had attention to detail at every corner even with me rescheduling several times. Everyone came up and said happy birthday and they even took the flowers I had ordered for my wife to the front desk while we went to the comedy club around the corner."

  • "There are three spaces: bar with high tops, atrium and main dining area (1913 Room). We chose the atrium - quieter, with a nice view outside. The calamari and chop salad were excellent. We asked to split the regular filet with bleu cheese cap, and our server did so tableside, using two extra 500 degree plates. Very classy move. Best steak we have ever eaten. We also split the au gratin potatoes, which could use less garlic. We will go with the mashed next time. Finished with creme brulee, which was very good. The wine list prices are definitely on the high side, but if you spend some time you can find something relatively reasonable. Our "special occasion" (birthday) visit truly was. We will be back."

  • "The only place that I don't use steak sauce. Awesome food and great view when we get to sit in the room with the windows! Service this time was terrible! I hope she was new or in training. We been there a lot and this was the only time we felt like the service was not on par with the food quality."

  • "Service was excellent. Scallop appetizer very good. Downhill from there. Wine was mediocre. Baked potato seemed microwaved, not fluffy or flaky. Salmon was undercooked and had fishy taste, oily. Sweet potato casserole good. Steak was just ok. For the same price, could have had much better meals at the local GR restaurants."

  • "We were so disappointed with the steak entrees that I felt I had to respond to OT's request to review our experience. The atmosphere, service and window table were excellent. The salads and lobster bisque were quite good, although the bisque was not hot. But they ruined 3 cuts of prime tender beef. All three entrees were served overcooked. The family style sides were what you might get at a diner, void of any creativity or inspiration. No flare or presentation. This is a restaurant concept frozen in the 1960s. I am mindful of the many great reviews this restaurant has gotten, so I am willing to consider that I failed to pick up on what this restaurant holds itself out to be. At any rate, I'd never go again. It's just not that special."

  • "I made a reservation at Ruth's Chris for my husband birthday. I've lived in several cities with a Ruth's Chris, but this was my first experience dining in the restaurant. I indicated that it was my husband's birthday on our reservation notes and I was pleased that the hostess, waiter and manager all wished my husband a "Happy Birthday" We had an appetizer (BBQ Shrimp), salads, petite filets, baked potato and asparagus. I would recommend all of the dishes - they were excellent. My husband was treated with a complimentary dessert - nice touch. Our waiter was knowledgeable about wine and was able to recommend a glass I enjoyed based on a few questions he asked. The tables were pretty close so not a very private feel."

  • "it was a little loud. we were out to celebrate our anniversary and were hoping for a romantic night. the noise and lighting detracted a little. the service was fantastic and the food was unbelievably good. we had reservations and still had to wait 30 min, but they compenstaed us with a drink so that was very nice."

  • "Pricey- yes, but definitely worth it! Best filet I've ever had and the service was impeccable. Greg was attentive, but didn't 'hover'. The side dishes are family-style, so don't feel you need to order a potato and vegetable just for yourself. Surprisingly, there were lots of people in jeans, and even several kids there - but it did not ruin the ambiance. It was a great place to take my parents for their 70 and 75 birthdays!"

  • "Going to RC for thanksgiving is a new tradition for me that started last year. I am a chef by trade so I have no desire to cook a giant meal at home. Also my family is small so we decided last year to start a new tradition. Just like last year the experience was great. The holiday prix fix menu was nice but I went for the fabulous steak instead. Everything was great and the service prompt, attentive and unobtrusive. All in all and excellent experience. Thanks."

  • "I've had much better experiences at other steak houses in GR. Don't get me wrong, the steak was cooked exactly to temperature and the food was good. It just wasn't special enough to justify spending the $100 / head that we spent. For this much money I also expected the experience to be a little more special; I let the restaurant know that it was my wife's birthday ahead of time and they mentioned that they would note it on our reservation and "take care of us"... I'm not really sure what the expectation should have been but a "happy birthday" at the reception desk or from our server would have been nice. Instead it apparently was never noted on the reservation because nobody said a word. Go see Tim at the JBar for a great experience!"

  • "We cannot often afford dinner at a place like Ruth's Chris, but we decided to go to celebrate our Fifth Wedding Anniversary. We'd been to this location before, but this time we had Greg for our server—he used to wait on us at another restaurant and just moved to this one. Ruth's Chris is always fantastic, but Greg's personal touch and immensely thoughtful service made the night unforgettable. Probably shouldn't have had a martini with the champagne, but our hotel was in walking distance, so all was well! :-)"

  • "We went here for a special occasion and were blown away. Neither my fiancée or I had ever been to a Ruth's Chris, so we chose to celebrate here as it has always been a restaurant we wanted to try. Here's the highlights: 1. All staff were extremely friendly and courteous. 2. Our server was exceptional in helping us choose between various appetizers and entrées, and make wine-by-the-glass selections since we didn't want a full bottle. 3. Our server understood that we wanted to eat slow and enjoy a second cocktail with our appetizer; she put our entrée order in and the timing was perfect 4. We were too full for dessert, so our server provided us with complimentary desserts to take home. Fantastic experience from start to finish!"

The layout of the restaurant was a bit different and finding your way in and out was like going through a maze, but they do a pretty good job of packing a lot of people in. The tables were close, but comfortable enough. The steaks were great, though were a bit under-done (this seemed to be a pattern as I heard a few other tables send their food back). I anticipated this and ordered my steak a little more done than usual, though I don't mind rare steaks if they are this high of quality."

  • "If you are looking for a place to enjoy a great steak, this is not the restaurant for you. My husband and I ordered the filet and ribeye and were disappointed in both. While the ribeye had more flavor than the filet, both were overshadowed by the encrusted spices on top and the pool of butter on the bottom. Even when we scraped the seasonings off, the filet was very tasteless. The side dishes were very common and uninspired. As for the table, we were seated by the front door and constantly had waiters rushing past with meals and congregating in the walkway to chat. Very unprofessional. (if you go, make sure you sit by the window, so you are out of the line of traffic). We will not be returning or recommending this restaurant."
