Brought my Mom for a pre-Mother's Day dinner, only to find out they had run out of live Maine lobster (her favorite)! Otherwise, everything was really good. The service, unfortunately, was just fair. We had a long wait time between the salad, dinner and dessert. We asked for A1 steak sauce and it took over 5 minutes until it got to our table; thanks to the manager on duty that night. Our waitress also dropped one of our drinks as she was serving them. Stuffed mushroom appetizer seemed a little underdone and presentation was flat. Chopped salad was to die for. Strip steak was full of flavor, but the filet was a little tough - I expect to have it almost fork tender. Sides were good.
Somehow the visit fell short of my expectations. Don't know if that is because we have had such a wonderful experience in the past or if others in town are now surpassing Ruth Chris. All I know is that Ruth Chris won't be top on my local list.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
