  • "When I made the reservation through Open Table, I made a note that we would be celebrating my birthday. When we arrived, our table had "Happy Birthday" and balloon confetti. We arrived at 6 PM, so it was not busy. We were waited on immediately, and the food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. Because we were full, we turned down the dessert menu. A few minutes later, our server arrived with a plate with 3 dessert samples and "Happy Birthday" and my name written in chocolate. It was a lovely and memorable dinner. My only criticism is the high prices, which is why we save Ruth's Chris for special occasions."

  • "Exorbitantly expensive for the suburbs...The filet was fine but it would have been a chunk of meat on a plate had I not paid for a sauce ($4.00! What a rip off for a barely edible sauce!). I ordered sauteed mushrooms as a side. When they arrived, the mushrooms had not seen the bottom of a saute pan. The server admitted that they had not. The manager did take them back and had them sauteed. When questioned as to why the menu said "Sauteed Mushrooms," he was unable to answer and admitted that they never saute the mushrooms. What a rip off!!"

  • "Yes, it is Ruth Chris. So it is good. And yes, unlike some places that have good food, the service is excellent as well. I had the ribeye. I did not realize it was not bone-in, which I would have preferred. As for the steak, it was good, although it was cooked unevenly. About half was medium (as ordered) but the second half was medium rare. For $50, they could do better. The flavor overall was subtle at best. Taste was flat, more like a NY Strip than a ribeye. The sides (Lyonnaise and Au Gratin) were also good. But...here's the thing: Nothing was bad, but I've had better versions of all for half the price. A good plate of "home fries" in NYC would equal the Lyonnaise, and the au gratin at Bonefish Grill is tastier. The same for the steak."

  • "We had to cancel our original plans due to the weather and they were most accommodating! My husband has a hearing impairment and they are most accommodating. Granted, we usually go at 5:00 but it so nice to go to a wonderful place both in terms of food and service and he can hear me most of the time! This is one of the few places that consistently know how to cool my steak medium-well."

  • "The food and service are always superb - well worth the cost (and calories). If you are going to do it, do it right is our motto! Definitely, definitely go for the mac & cheese topped with lobster- as well as the brussel sprouts w/ pancetta. Absolutely divine everytime. No other steak house does it as good as Ruth's! The waitstaff is always exceptional and forever on top of their game! We have yet to find a local restaurant that can match the attention to detail that Ruth's provides us each and every visit. Very accomodating, always cordial, and the food is definitely top notch. It's essentially become our dining room away from home, seriously!"

  • "Our steak was amazing although the sides we ordered (mushrooms and spinach) were a little bland. The escargot appetizer was also very good. Overall a very good dinner. The service was only good until my husband bought a Louis IV shot and they were alot nicer. Lol. The server gave me and my daughter flowers for Valentine's night and he brought me 2 chocolate covered strawberries, which was very thoughtful."

  • "No matter how many times we go here, this restaurant is always perfection. Great food, great service, great atmosphere and nice relaxing dinner with absolutely no rush to get out. The sommelier Friday night was excellent. Wayne listened to our desires and selected an excellent bottle of Rioja. We commented to him later in the evening that the wine was great, but was not quite as big as we were hoping. He offered to change the wine, which was not needed. But he also brought my wife an I a glass of a perfect Napa Cab that fit the bill perfectly. Just absolutely perfection. Thanks again to Wayne."

  • "Another wonderful evening at one of our favorite restaurants in Northern Virginia. As usual the food was impeccable. We each enjoyed one of the Ruth's classics ... filet with shrimp and the salmon. We tried different veggies instead of the mushrooms. The roasted sprouts were spectacular ( we even asked our waiter how they were prepared ... however, he never got back to us). The green beans with garlic were fresh and tender. As usual we barely had room for dessert. We'll be back. We highly recommend Ruth's."

  • "My wife and I visited your restaurant for V-day and the service and food were very good. However, on the night that we visited the lobster tank was out of order, at least that is what we were told, which was very disappointing since that live lobster was listed on the menu and was the main reason for wanting the visit the restaurant. Also, the wait staff was not aware of the issue with the lobsters until after we placed our order. This should have been mentioned before we even placed our order. Also, while sitting there listening to other wait staff discuss menu options with other customers, I heard no one mention any issue with the lobsters. Seems that all wait staff should have been made aware of the issue prior to waiting on any tables."

  • "I've dined in them across the USA and they're pretty much the same. Great steak and large (trending to pricy) wine list. I'm not always happy about paying so much but it's always consistently good and I know what I'm getting into. My wife and I were here on Valentine's Day (again) and they were busy but well staffed, we didn't wait on our table and were seated promptly (even let us adjust the table so as to not be in the middle of the wait staff/customer walkway/highway). We took our time and didn't feel rushed to hurry up, eat, and get out. The only downside to this location is the lack of isolated/intimate dining tables inside. Until I can find the same quality of steak, service, and wine list in one place cheaper I'll keep coming back."

  • "I liked the meal, the setting, and the service. There was nothing bad about the experience at all. On the other hand, there was nothing truly exceptional about it, either. The food seemed a bit pricey given the flavors. It's not that anything tasted anywhere near bad, just that I've had better cuisine for less elsewhere. I would go back ... but it would never be first on my list of choices. Good, but not excellent, fare. That's what I'm getting at."

  • "We came out for our 12th Anniversary and had a great time. The Cajun-style BBQ Shrimp appetizer was great, with the creamy sauce and bread for dipping. We also shared a bowl of gumbo which had a great flavor. She had the crab cakes which she said were very good, as was my filet mignon. Both came out cooked perfectly and both tasted great! We finished our anniversary dinner with a shared crème brulee which had a nicely caramelized crust on top, but was still cold otherwise. Absolutely perfect! As you would expect at Ruth's Chris, the service wasn't good. It was GREAT! Friendly, fun, and prompt, but not smothering. I still prefer Lewnes Steakhouse in Annapolis but Ruths' Chris is great too and I can't recommend it highly enough! Enjoy!"

  • "This was our first time to Ruth's Chris, but our lovely server made us feel like regulars. Everything was just exceptional - the meals, the service, everything! While I had my filet with light butter and my husband's had the regular amount the kitchen usually cooks it with, both steaks were just amazing and the three side dishes we shared were incredible. We went around 6:30pm, which seemed to be the perfect time as the restaurant was about a third full and by the time we left every seat seemed to be filled. Thank you for giving us a wonderful evening for our anniversary, can't wait to return for another delicious meal and delightful service!"

We took advantage of the Restaurant Week Special and enjoyed an outstanding 3 course meal for $35.14 per person. The lobster bisque was amazing, the filet Mignon was tender and melted in your mouth!! The mashed potatoes and spinach side dishes were plenty to share. The dessert was equally as amazing. In addition to the great prices for restaurant week, they also had wine that was priced at $30 a bottle to complement the meal. Overall, a wonderful night!"

  • "Our daughter's birthday fell during Restaurant Week in D.C., so it was the perfect opportunity to take her to dinner at a price much lower than usual. We had a limited prix fixe menu, but plenty of delicious things were available, and we still received impeccable service. The food was wonderful - all three of us had the petite filet, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender. We had cocktais and wine, which substantially increased our bill, but every sip and bite was very special."

I have only ordered steak at Ruth's Chris before, but the "mixed grill" entree impressed us that they do an extraordinary job with seafood and chicken as well. And, I'm still thinking about the flourless chocolate cake. As always, the noise level feels lively but still permits conversation, even at a larger table, and the service is attentive."

  • "We took advantage of the local Restaurant Week promotion that offered a three-course dinner at Ruth's Chris and other outstanding local restaurants at a special fixed rate. Our server was friendly and attentive, as were other servers who brought food, filled water glasses, etc. We both ordered the mixed grill - mixed reviews of this. My steak was a little overcooked and the garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were not as hot as I would have preferred. But everything else was fine. The entree portion was generous and I couldn't finish it all. We were surprised to see the very lively happy hour crowd and the dining room was busy as well. Last time we were there (a few years ago) the place was like a morgue. Nice improvement!"

  • "I was invited to dinner by a friend to celebrate my birthday and I can't think of a better place to have a special meal. The waiter, Seth, was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Naturally the steak was so good it is hard to find words to describe it. We ordered Brussels sprouts and it was our favorite dish of the meal. They were cooked with bacon and honey butter and melted in your mouth. The green beans with garlic were good too but overshadowed by the Brussels. Almost forgot the beet and goat cheese salad which was another great choice. They had great options on the menu from the specials for restaurant week, Chef's classic to the ala carte menu. Cant wait to go back."
