  • "Here's your appetizer.... oh .... and your entree.... can we get you a box for that? Pacing is not their forte. If you want to sit enjoy company and the sunset you should tell your waitperson not to fire the entree until you request it.... 5 minutes after shrimp cocktail arrived our steaks came out - i wasn't expecting surf and turf, but here ya go. Food was as expected for a chain steakhouse; pretty good, well prepared."

  • "We had a T-bone steak, and it was excellent in every way - cooked perfectly, tasty, and tender. We also had a harvest salad, which was good but not great, and lobster mac and cheese, which was disappointingly bland and ordinary. We had two cocktails, two glasses of wine, and shared one entrée, one salad, and one side dish. It was a good but not great dining experience. The total price tag, including $10 for valet parking, came to a whopping $190.00. I have had many dinners out with more and better food at half the price. It was good, but it was definitely not worth the money."

  • "The wine, food and service were truly excellent. The only problem was being seated next to a booth with an infant and young child. The infant was reaching over the back of the booth to my shoulder and was crying and yelling. When one is spending close to $200 for dinner for two, one expects a more quiet and enjoyable environment."

  • "Dined here with my wife and parents for my birthday. Ambience was nice and service was quite good, but the ribeyes brought out for me and my Dad were clearly overcooked. Sent them back and they did a great job of replacing them quickly, however we both agreed that while the second ones were cooked properly, they were short on quality for the 40 or 50 bucks they charge for them. Mine was a bit chewy. Tasted fine but really I was expecting more from a place known for steaks. Our salads were great, and the desserts they brought out for my birthday were nice too. Probably wouldn't go back based on our experience."

  • "There were 5 of us seated at an unusual shaped table/booth. The one added chair was higher than the rest of the group and made the diner feel awkward and uncomfortable. The staff were terrific. All in all we had a wonderful time. The seating was the only issue."

  • "I absolutely love Ruth Chris and always make time to find one whenever possible. This one was gorgeous, but the service was probably my worst experience I've had at any Ruth Chris. It wasn't awful, but I waited 30 mins before the waiter took my order and it was impossible to get his attention after he served us. When you spend $300 on dinner for 2, you expect good service. The food is always awesome though."

  • "the meat is wonderful and tasty. however, even as ones that use lots of salt, we found everything, especially the steaks to be TOO SALTY. friends have had a similar experience about this. otherwise, the steaks would have been great. considering we are not in Argentina, very, very tasty aged beef, tender, and properly cooked (not overcooked). cut back the salt please :)"

The place was PACKED, but we were seated before our reservation time and quickly met our super attentive server. He knew the entire menu and made some great recommendations. Our meal was absolutely fabulous...great ambiance, abundant wine list, and the food was outstanding."

  • "Ruth's is one of those fancy places that you don't go often too, but when you do you know you will be well taken care of. Of course they are a steak house, so I recommend you order steak. I was sad that my medium well filet was way overcooked, but the issue was resolved. They brought me out a fresh filet, properly cooked, and the manager bought us a round of drinks. So though I was surprised that a steak house way over cooked my steak... they made up for it and allowed me to still have a good experience. Highly recommend the Agave Honey cocktail. Way too good!"

  • "Ruth's Chris in Del Mar makes for an eventful evening. Absolutely everything about the evening was stand out, from the greeting to the service to the fabulous dining. My husband doesn't eat red meat often so when he does, he says nothing compares to the way Ruth's Chris prepares theirs. The food, ambiance and service make this gem in Del Mar a special treat and an evening to remember. I recommend a table by the huge window or a romantic booth. But no matter where you sit, your dining will be exceptional. I wish the downtown San Diego one was as nice, but it is bright and needs to be redecorated to reflect the high-end dining one expects from Ruth's Chris. It doesn't so we drive to Del Mar! Enjoy!"

  • "Went here to use up some gift cards that I had. Brought my girlfriend and a couple friends. Normally this restaurant would be a little out of my price range, but we decided to go all out and enjoy ourselves. We shared a couple bottles of wine from Justin in Paso Robles. Very tasty. We split some appetizers and sides, and each had an amazing steak. My rare filet was amazing, they really do know how to cook a steak to perfection. We ended with 4 desserts, each of which was pretty large and very rich. The bill was pretty heavy, so not something I would do very often, but considering I had some gift cards to spend, it was definitely worth it. Service was very professional, yet friendly. Would absolutely recommend."

  • "You can't go wrong with Ruth's Chris. The service is always impeccable and the food was outstanding. I was hoping for a seat. Ear the windows for a view of the sunset, but forgot to request it when making my reservation. I won't forget next time. My steak was accidently charred on one side and it was immediately rectified by the staff, and they brought me out a larger cut. The wine suggestion was awesome, in fact I now have a new favorite Merlot. Love RC Steakhouse, just wish I could afford it for more than just speci occasions."

  • "My husband went here for a post Valentines day dinner and it did not disappoint. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and we had a side of mashed potatoes that were cooked wonderfully. We also had a dessert which was the banana cream pie which was to die for! Besides having great food our waitress and even the different staff were very pleasent always refilling our glasses and grabbing the dirty plates off the table when we finished. The manager also came back to check how we liked it too. I would go here again but probably only for celebrating an anniversary or special occasion."

  • "We love Ruth's Chris Steak House for several reasons: 1) Awesome steaks, cooked to perfection everytime as requested, 2) tremendous service by the staff from the check-in, server and table helpers. We were celebrating Valentines Day as well as a 1 year anniversary and we were treated great. Gavin was our waiter and he was very attentive to what we needed as well as quick with any of our requests. Chosing the surf and turf as well as a Ruth's Chris classic we enjoyed every bite and will be back attending soon."

  • "I ordered a petit filet medium. When the server brought my steak over it wasn't even medium rare it was in fact more than rare. It was cold on the inside and not even remotely cooked. The server took it back and came back and it was still rare. By this time I had already had half of my husbands steak and couldn't care less about the filet. The third time it was finally cooked but by this time it was tough and not that great. Overall a HUGE disappoint. The waiter felt awful but to be honest they were not going to do anything to make up for it till we complained a little more. You would think for what you spend there they would have been more accommodating. To make up for it we got a over cooked Chocolate cake."

  • "As a family we were looking forward to a wonderful meal with good service and a nice ambiance. I must say that the table that was given to us only was set up for 5 people instead of 6. It took them 10 minutes to set up the extra seat. The waiter were extremely slow, the drinks that we ordered took 15 minutes to get to the table. I would not call it excellent service, after all the prices are not in-expensive and I would expect better service. My son ordered the fresh fruit dessert, and it was truly embarrassing to see how small the portion was for $9.00."

  • "Look on the menu in the section with the steaks and you will notice that all cuts of meat clearly state "USDA Prime" in the description except the filet and petit filet. Ask the server if the filet is prime and watch them squirm before they answer you. "Sometimes the filet is prime and sometimes it is choice, but choice is actually a more lean cut of meat." Are you freakin kidding me? The word PRIME is on their logo and they sure charge PRIME prices. I only eat filet, so I will never again give this place my money again. Order the filet without the butter bath on top one time and you will be able to tell that it is not prime."

  • "My wife and I made a 7pm reservation during restaurant week. We came on time but still had to wait almost 20 minutes for a table. This was strange because once we were seated we realized that about 75% of the tables in the upper sections were empty. I would have rather waited at a table than standing in the hallway. It was a strange behaviour by the host. Once we were seated the service was very good. The food was outstanding throughout. Especially the steaks were one of the three best I ever had. They grilled my wife´s (medium to well done) and mine (medium rare) to perfection. Overall it was a pleasant experience."

  • "Most of the times I go to Ruth Chris when I'm out of town on business. During Restaurant week I made of a point of taking my wife out to Ruth Chris for dinner and they did not disappoint. It was her first visit to Ruth Chris and she enjoyed every course. I had the Ahi Tuna appetizer and it was amazing. Service was great and not overbearing. The only negative was since the dinning room was a big open area it because very loud at times, but I wouldn't let that stop you from going and enjoying a night out on the town."

  • "I have no complaints about the restaurant. They had good food and good service. They initially got my appetizer wrong but quickly replaced it with the right one. I felt that that was nice of them. They constantly came around to make sure everything was alright. Meat was cooked to my liking. I went with a friend but it could also be used for special occasions. They had some big tables so I think it's a good restaurant for bigger groups as well"
