Ruth's Chis in Del Mar delivered it all, service, great food, a lovely environment, and a free parting gift!!, Our steaks were perfect, my spinach was off the hook, we had a lovely table by the window and our server, Marco, was terrific. Both of the managers stopped by to see if we were happy. I never have room for desert, but after drooling over the banana cream pie description, they made my night by giving us a piece wrapped to go...OMG! If it wasn't scandalous, I might order the banana cream pie as appetizer next time... First time to this Del Mar location, slightly out of the way in a business plaza, but the property is huge and geting reservations was no problem on a busy holidy weekend. As veterans, we knew where not to seat [ upstairs too dark; back room too lonely; center of restaurant too busy ] and were delighted to be granted our Open Table request for a 4 top in low traffic.
The service was concerned but not very good : forgot my salad, served across me twice, no bread refresh... The circulating Manager inquired of everyone around us but US!
The young woman at the reception desk was helpful, delightful, and made a wonderful start to our delicious dinner!

Our waiter was amazing and was very thorough with the menu and wine selection.
This was our first night away form the kids in over a year and although the menu style is a la carte, it's true when they say "you get what you pay for". The spicy lobster appetizer is to die for! I had the Ruth's chop salad - my favorite salad of all times and I highly recommend it. Our steaks (filets) were cooked to perfection and the desserts were marvelous - cheesecake and cream brule. Fabulous night!!!
