  • "My friends and I had an amazing experience this past Sunday night. Some of the guests were late so we sat at the bar (which was still serving happy hour) and enjoyed the company of helpful and funny bartentenders and delicious drinks. Our table was perfect, a corner booth for us four ladies. The food was amazing and our waiter Jonathan was very attentive and friendly. We are definitely going back soon :) Oh and Valet was only $10!"

  • "I had my birthday dinner there and even though my reso said bday the server never acknowledged it nor did he bring me a bday dessert. The kicker was the table behind me was for a bday and they were treated like I would have assumed I would have been. We never got our bread, finally had to request some and still never got. Had to constantly ask for drink refills, and the server came to check if the steaks were ok after we had finished our meal. My steak was extremely rare for my liking but could not send it back because we never saw our server. This is one of the worst Ruth's Chris I have ever been to."

  • "I went to Ruth Chris for restaurant week mainly to relive fond memories of going to the Ruth Chris in Santa Monica- the difference is night and day. First off, we had reservations and were seated immediately. Our waitress Maxine could've been a little more friendly and in tuned with us but she did not seem that eager to help. I could not have been more clear that I did not want the cheesecake offered in the prix fixed menu but she pretty much just ignored me. The steak was unremarkable and greasy with splatter stains everywhere. It tasted fine but not nearly as good as I remembered from childhood. The cheesecake was generic and supermarket quality at best. I will not be returning."

  • "The food was top notch. My issue with this specific Ruth's Chris is the service. My reservation was at 6pm on a Wednesday evening. I was seated in the very back of the dining room and was the only table at that time. My server came up after several minutes to welcome me, took my drink order and my dinner order and came back to fill my water glass. Then another brought the bread, another assistant server brought my salad, the manager brought my cocktail order, then someone else brought my entree. My initial server came back at the end of my salad & entree courses to take my dessert order. Someone else refilled my water glass after I requested. So it took 6 people to provide me service! All were good, but was very disjointed."

  • "I assumed because RCS was a chain that I would leave unfulfilled. Boy, was I wrong! Excellent service, delicious buttery steaks, and a laid back sophisticated vibe that cannot be beat! I was especially impressed by the restaurant week menu. Many restaurants provide low quality options, e.g. hanger steak, but RCS didn't scrimp out on quality. I will absolutely return here and recommend everyone experience RCS at least once."

  • "At first, I was a little disappointed that the special menu for Restaurant Week did not allow substitutions. What was there seemed mundane. But the price was a great deal so we went with it. The choices may have been mundane, ( no foam...no panes of potatoes...no BACON?) but there's reason this place is famous. Perfection. I had the mixed grill; chicken breast, filet mignon and crab cake and everything was perfect. Even my vodka martini was great. Sometimes mundane is sublime."

  • "4 colleagues out for the evening, Ruths is a safe bet, good food, good wine..Service is the variable at Ruth's... Ours was pleasant but sometimes a bit slow. Restaurant wasnt packed...plenty of tables available, mind you this place is The Steak restaurant market is competitive, I think this restaurant needs to sharpen up its act to stay competitive, there are plenty of other options in DC for the money & you cant just rely on the brand to carry you. However we had a good evening, but repeat...Ummm gets a maybe..."

  • "My first visit to Ruth's Chris Steak House was during Restaurant Week in celebration of my birthday. Best birthday ever. Restaurant atmosphere was great; not too noisy. Wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. The table ordered the petit filet, the mixed grill, creamed spinach, and garlic mashed potatoes. Food arrived quite quickly, and still sizzling! Steak was cooked to perfection, and it was so tender, I barely had to chew."

  • "I have eaten at Ruth Chris many times over many years. The chopped salad and raviolis were very good. For our entree's we had a stuffed chicken which was very good, a petite filet, a regular size filet and a bone in rib eye. The steaks were also very good but by far from great and honestly have had better at other Ruth Chris'. The sides were very good and we passed on dessert. I guess where the surprise came in was understanding where the cost of having a fine dinner experience has gone. We averaged $60 a person, which is steep when you consider there were no alcoholic beverages ordered. To conclude, be prepared for very good food but understand its going to cost you. Ps. Our waiter was just OK, the other help were very friendly."

  • "What a lovely anniversary celebration we had at Ruth's Chris in DC. Abdel was amazing as was the rest of the staff. I have to thank the bar for making me the best Manhattan (everyone makes them too sweet even when I say "not sweet - very little sweet vermouth" - but Ruth's Chris bar got it right!). Food was wonderful as always, and they made our celebration all the more special with celebratory confetti and a complimentary and personalized dessert. We were very impressed that Ruth's Chris acknowledged our special occasion, especially since we're a same sex couple. It's good to see that this matters less and less. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "Food was great as always. We like the Ruth's specials, as those are great values. Service here really needs to improve. After ordering, our salads did not come in a timely manner, as the entrees came shortly thereafter. After we finished our entrees, we waited a long time for our desserts. When paying for the check, we used a gift card but the remaining amount was the same as the original check. Management needs to do better training at this location."

  • "I travel on business all over the US and when ever possible I eat at a Ruth's Chris Steak House. The food is perfect and the atmosphere is always very nice. We had reservations for 8pm and arrived 15min early. Our table wasn't ready so we waited in the bar. The bar was very busy and very loud as well. I ordered a drink and my wife a glass of wine. I got my drink, but they advised us they were out of wine glasses at the bar... So no wine for her. We were seated at 8pm sharp and the dining room was MUCH quieter.. Our waitress was very busy and did her best to meet our requests. She had an assistant, but we only saw it twice..Once he filled the water glasses and once to bring bread. We got our meals and they were AMAZING.."

  • "A ribeye is comprised of two parts, a tender fattier section and a firmer not so fatty portion. The ratio between the two varies and I can accept that but my first steak had a sliver of the tender section and its replacement had slightly bigger sliver. The name for a steak without the tender fattier section is usually called a strip steak. If you dine at Ruth's Chris be prepared to negotiate for a good ribeye. I will go again but I will ask to see the steak first. To be fair to Ruth's Chris, I did not complain about the second steak and I have no doubt the manager would have tried it a third time since he seemed genuinely concerned that I was not satisfied."

  • "I took my mother to celebrate what would have been the her wedding anniversary. I made note of this to the restaurant and also asked that they send a slice of cheesecake with two candles to the table after dinner. The restaurant had champagne confetti sprinkled on our table for the occasion and upon greeting us our waiter extended his condolences to my mother. I ordered the crabcake entree and my mother ordered the chicken. We also ordered the creamed spinach side dish to share. Dinner was delicious and the portions were satisfactory. After dinner the waiter delivered the cheesecake, which was presented very nicely with "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate script on the plate. My mother was very happy and can't wait to go back again."

  • "While the food was amazing the service was horrible. First, the hostess could not find our reservation, although it was made through open table & they called earlier to confirm. While the hostess tried to locate our reservation, we noticed the place was really empty. The most logical thought would be "is the reservation even necessary." Once seated we ordered drinks & appertizers. After waiting 30 minutes we received the drinks but no appetizer; the server then took our dinner order;25 minutes later we received our dinner; still no appetizer. Did I mention, we order additional drinks and we never received them. We advised the server of the missing items; he apologized & disappeared only to return later asking if we were ready for the check."

  • "My main criticism was the lack of service by our server and not a single manager stopped by our table to inquire if all was well. Our server seemed to disappear for very long stretches at a time and only once did he stop by the table to check on us. He did not refill the water glasses promptly, or ask if we would like additional drinks. The one time we flagged him over for drinks he forgot my cocktail. All in all for the price paid for this business meal that I arranged for my customers it was a very disappointing evening at Ruth Chris...."

  • "We were about 20 min early for our reservation so we waited at the bar. 17 or those minutes were spent waiting for or cocktails. We settled out and then went back to the desk for our 7:30 seating - we now had to wait another 10 minutes for a table. First server seemed competent, then mid-meal we had someone else (not so much). LONG time before we saw a server once the entree arrived (you missed selling us some more wine!) and then another wait between for coffee/dessert (which we asked for 'to go' b/c we were pretty full) but wanted coffee. Plate cleanups could have occurred more quickly, too. That took a while to show up, desserts never did. Steaks were perfect and BLT salad, delicious."

  • "This is the worst RC location that I have dined. The service was sub par. The server was unprofessional and tried to be too chummy with our party. We could also hear the servers chattering and gossiping from the kitchen. As for the food, it was mediocre. I've ordered the same dishes at other RC locations and have been blown away. Not here. Also, the kitchen messed up my entree. It took 10 mins. to refire it while my guest's steak was getting cold (I told him to start eating). The manager came by to apologize, but so what? He did not even comp the entree. As for ambiance, this location lacked in elegance. I think the Capital Grille and Morton's are much better choices."

  • "My husbands dinner of lamb chops was delicious and well cooked.The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and full of garlic...yum!The creamed spinach was also good. But...I was very disappointed with the very expensive lobster. I got a gift card from work to celebrate 30yrs.So I wanted my celebration to include Lobster! When my lobster came it looked great. But when I started to eat my favorite part...the tail...I was so disappointed. The tail was very chewy/rubbery and over cooked.So disappointing for my celebration.The rest of the lobster was good. The waiter said he would get me another tail, but we had a show to go to. I was also disappointed with the coffee...it was cold. I was looking forward to a cup of hot french pressed coffee."

  • "I went this restaurant for my birthday. Five things... 1. They gave us wrong menus. They had to go back to get new menu TWO times. The first time for myself, and the other time for my father. 2. Although they knew the party was 3. They had a set up for only 2 people. 3. Dessert took so long and the server apologized for this too. 4. Total bill came out to be ~$300 (for 3 people) including a bottle of wine + tax => not worth this money. 5. Food was ok. "

  • "Ruth's Chris has always been some where I said 'I have to eat there' Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity raved about how good it is. So when I was in DC I went with some co-workers. Great place, easy to find. We thought the service would match the reputation! Wrong. They refreshed our Coke with Ice Tea! Took forever to get our order taken and the place was not real busy for Tuesday night. We got our salads quickly then the steak! I was so looking forward to this. I ordered the filet and when it came on the hot plate still sizzling I thought sweet just like I anticipated. So I cut into it. I ordered it medium rare it was raw purple inside. I had to wait 15 minutes before anyone came back to check!! They had to recook it and no apology!"

It was quite pricey, but worth it.... my boyfriend ordered the 6oz steak with shrimp and it was quite small but he said it tasted great. We had a party of 12 so they set us up in a nice private room which was awesome. I would definitely recommend this for special occasion dining. "

  • "The Food was outstanding as usual. On this occasion the service was slower than at any other time. I will chalk that up it being Mother's Day, but it took almost 30 minutes to get our desert. The valet parking took a long time to retrieve our vehicle also. For a moment I thought they had lost my SUV. Although not my best overall experience at this restaurant, the exceptional service I received in the past earned them a pass on this visit."
