  • "Ruth's Chris in NYC is my favorite place for dinner and I booked our small party into this DC location assuming it would be as good. Every bit and more! Most of us had a steak because the sizzle is worth the price, but everybody was delighted with their choices. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny. A wonderful evening with friends could not have been better. The sides were all large enough to share and perfectly prepared. I normally get the shoestring potatoes because they really complement the steaks. Mushrooms were wonderful as were the asparagus. There's never a "but" at Ruth's Chris. Always great!"

To put a slab of meat on a plate with nothing else, it looks bad and unappetizing. It was a Sunday night, yet our waiter was very busy with others."

  • "I usually love Ruth Chris, this last experience left me very disappointed. Our reservation was not honored on time. We were told that we would have to wait even though we made a reservation. The servers (two) tried their best but they seemed very overwhelmed. We had to keep reminding them to bring our drinks. The valet service left much to be desired. I had to physically get out of the car and ask a valet attendant to please assist us. There was another long line at the valet to pick-up our vehicle. Most of the people in line were complaining about the wait. This was suppose to be a special romantic bday dinner. Although the food was delicious, the poor service ruined the overall experience. Sadly, I will not return to this Ruth Chris."

  • "The restaurant was filled. We arrived late due to severe traffic issues on I95. I called ahead and explained our situation. When we arrived 1/2 hour late, we were concerned that we wouldn't have time to eat and finish in time for the Eagles concert at the Verizon Center. But the staff flew into action and sat us within 7 minutes. The wait staff was already informed of our time limits and took our order promptly. We finished our fabulous meal in time. This time it was a glass of wine, beef for my husband and Salmon for me. Each was perfectly prepared and outstanding. We will be going back again!!!! Next time we'll take some friends with us to share the experience."

  • "Planned friday nite dinner with my wife was outstanding. Upon entering we could feel the energy from the bar scene which will require another visit for happy hour. The food seemed to take awhile but when it arrived everything was outstanding with my wife having the petite steak and I the salmon, delicious."

  • "I used to LOVE this Ruth's Chris. The service used to be top notch and I would go so often that I knew the managers by name. However, since they changed management a couple years ago there has been a significant decline in the service. This particular experiene wasn't so bad but it wasn't the great Ruth's Chris service I've known in the past. Our reservation was for 5pm which is when they open and our waiter was late for work (which we were told this by another waiter which was unprofessional) and he explained that's why he would be taking care of us. He was a nice guy but the restaurant was not busy yet we had to look for him often. However, as always, the food was excellent which is what keeps me going back."

  • "All Ruth's Chris restaurants are pretty much the same. The food is delicious but expensive. Service is good but nothing special. My main complaint is that we had asked for a romantic table but they put us right by the kitchen even though multiple other booths and better tables were available. When we arrived (exactly on time), we were made to wait while we could overhear the manager and hostess debating which table to put us at. When we were finally seated, it seems they'd picked the worst one for us. On the plus side, the valet was very quick and friendly."

  • "From the rudeness of the maître'd to the lack of knowledge of the waiter, I'm pretty sure this amazing establishment could eithe retrain it's employees or get better ones. Though it might seem minute and a cliché but indeed first impression do matter especially to paying clients or customers. On a positive note, My entreé was good but the star of the night was my dessert. The dessert did put a huge smile on my face."

  • "Our dinner started great. Kristopher was our waiter. He started out great. We ordered the Ruth's Classic. My beet salad was amazing; my partner's caesar was good. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. This is where the wheels fall off the bus. Khan was working as the busboy. On 3 separate occasions, Khan filled my partner's water glass and totally ignored mine. We were at a table for two. After we finished, we had to wait over 20 min for Kristopher to return. He asked what we wanted for dessert and I asked for a menu. 10 min later the menu arrived. We ordered coffee and a dessert. It took 20 min for coffee & 10 min for the dessert.He said coffee had to brew. Offered no refill either. Not the kind of service u expect."

  • "Excellent food, but service is terriblle. Dined here with a party of 6 on Saturday during Restaurant week. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour for our table to be ready. After being seated, we waited more than 15 minutes for a waiter before we finally flagged one down. It was another 15 minutes before we were given water, another 5 minutes until the waiter took our order, and another 10 minutes after that before we were given a bread basket. The food was excellent but the bad service was inexcusable. I love Ruth's Chris but would never eat at this location again."

  • "So we went during restaurant week. I had the trio platter that came with stuffed chicken, crab cake, and small piece of steak. The steak was good to order, medium, but lacked the flavoring of better steakhouses like Capital Grille. The chicken was so dry and didn't contain any stuffing. The crab cake was subpar at best. The lobster bisque was soooo salty and only had a few pieces of lobster. The mashed potatoes were instant, like from a box. No flavoring at all. Don't waste your time or money there. It's soooooo over rated and quite frankly the best feature is Lola the bartender. She was quick and attentive as we had a couple of drinks while we waited to be seated. This location has nothing on other steakhouses. I'll never go back there!"

  • "Ruth's Chris never disappoints, especially this one. The food and service is always outstanding, and we never feel rushed. They provide high value for the quality of food and service. Especially nice was the fact that when we arrived for dinner, the hostess asked whether we had theater or event plans that would require us to be done by a certain time. Most restaurants don't extend this courtesy and more often than not finishing our meal has cut it very close to curtain time. Cudos to Ruth's Chris for going the extra distance."

Couldn't eat all of the food and got to take home with what would have been a delight the next day for lunch for work, except my boyfriend took it...lol Thanks for an exceptional meal in any case!"

  • "We took advantage of Restaurant Week and celebrated a birthday at the same time. The staff went out of their way to make the table beautiful with sprinkles of "Happy Birthday" confetti, the menu for Restaurant Week is incredible - 4 courses - all delicious - and the bread is amazing. They even brought out extra birthday desserts at no charge. Our server took our photo and then gave it to us as a gift after dinner. She was terrific. This was a great visit and we'd highly recommend going here for the total experience! Thank you Ruth's Chris downtown!!!"
