Ruth's Chris Steak House - DC - Connecticut NWDelicious dinner!We dined here while on a business trip. Within walking distance of the Dupont Circle Hilton Hotel. Lobster bisque and Ahi tuna were outstanding. Filet mignon tender and cooked to perfection. Excellent wine list including a sweet Moscato! The shared mashed potatoes were divine!
Rennie, our attentive waiter, brought a complimentary birthday dessert for us to share. The ambiance of the main restaurant is private, dark, romantic, and secluded. We were seated in an adjacent large room with tall windows facing the street--a bit noisy as it fills up. It would have been preferable being in the quieter rooms in the main restaurant. The food is very good but not cheap. We were annoyed only by our server who tried several times to "super size" our meal with up-charged items. I suspect there was an employee promotion on selling certain bottles of wine. She asked us twice if we wanted to consider a bottle of wine off of the manger's special list.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DinnerRuth Chris is one of my top 5 restaurants, so my fiance took me there for Mother's Day and we both got the Trio dinner, it was very good, and we drank a whole bottle of "yellow label" champagne. Our waiter was very attentive and that's what we love about this establishment. The service, attitude, and overall professionalism was excellent. The food was magnificent. We both enjoyed the 12 oz stake & lobster. The stake nice and tender, the lobster very delicious. Dessert was the best, apple pie & ice cream a meal in it's self, my favorite!

We were there for our friend's 56th birthday celebration. I originally had made a reservation for four of us, but we had a last minute addition to our group so I called the restaurant and my ad-hoc request was promptly accommodated. The bread put on the table was very tasty and incredibly crispy. We shared the crab-stuffed mushrooms, ahi tuna, and calamari appetizers. The calamari was simply stellar. We had both versions of the ribeye, NY strip, and my favorite - filet mignon. We all loved our entrees! Drinks were re/filled quickly and often. This is our favorite steak chain. And this one did not let us down. The steaks were cooked correctly and the flavor was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was a bit cave-like, we were in a back room, but it was intimate and fairly quiet. My wife does not really drink wine so I was thrilled to find silver oak by the glass on the wine menu. The side dishes were also very good. We had the au gratin potatoes that had a very nice cheesy flavor. The spinach was excellent and overall I’d rate the food highly. The servers were attentive- wonderful server named Ruth took good care of me. My meal was top-notch: iceberg wedge, medium rare filet, sauteed mushrooms and the cheesecake to finish it all. Everyone told him Happy Birthday, we had a great table near the window (although I was a bit drafty) but it really made it seem like I had planned this for a few weeks verses a few hours... Starting with the bartender who attended to us as we awaited our table. Very friendly and attentive. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. The meal was delicious - I had the filet, my husband the cowbody ribeye (I believe that is what it was called) - the sauteed spinach side dish was very tasty.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRude waiterAs always the food was exceptional.Soon as we walked into RCSH we were greeted by name our coats were checked and we were seated at our same cozy table.The waiter came he was pretty good until he started to try and joke with us. Some of the joke was rude and offense to us so we were alittle irratated with him.We ordered a last mintue side it came out burned im guessing from them trying to rush it because all our other food was there.I told the waiter that it was not nessaserry to send another one because we were almost done but he insisted and that he would take care of it on the bill which he did.
