  • "Service was nice. Bread was very good! I appreciated the waiter giving us plenty of it, although he was not as vibrant as more memorable waiters (not a big deal though). The food didn't take long and was very hot which I appreciated since I'm a slow eater. I did not order steak, which is their specialty, because I really wanted chicken. So, excluding the steak, I felt that the price of the food was not justified by the quality/taste of the food. Trust me, the chicken was good (soft and juicy), just not amazing. The "garlic" mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potato flakes and were low on salt. Salad had iceberg lettuce (not impressed) which was wilted."

  • "I have eaten at Ruth Chris many times in other locations around the country. This visit my steak was over-cooked. I wanted medium well and the menu said that would be a pink center, no pink and over-cooked. The steak was not the normal Ruth Chris quality."

  • "I have eaten at 3 of the RC restaurants - the one in Metairie, LA about 25 years ago, the one in midtown New Orleans 16 years ago (may be the original, closed now, I think), and the one in Chattanooga. That's few times, a long span. The experience was similar at all 3. The food is very good. Of course steak is their signature product and very good. I've never had their seafood, poultry/pork, or desserts. The salads and appetizers, and vegetables are very good. Wine is good. The prices are high - not moderate, not other worldly high. It is pretty much an a la carte menu. Because of the portion sizes, essentially 50 to 100% more than most people eat, the prices are not excessive. I rate it as a 4 to 4 1/2 star restaurant."

  • "The portion sizes are huge. Steaks came out sizzling - maybe just a tad too hot. My steak was medium but I ordered medium rare - still tasted fabulous. Service is fabulous. Found out after we got our meal - you need to split a dinner because the amount of food is really more than one person should eat. Every side dish is enough for two. Everything is delicious."

  • "I usually do not complain about restaurants , when food is not absolutely tops. But when I pay at least 3 times what I pay to get a great meal, steak, at say Longhorn, and theres are great, I expect to get great food and service. This was my wife and I"s first time at YOUR steakhouse. Our Steaks were very tough and fatty ,just greasy. I chewed about half of my steak, for a while and finally layed it on the side of my plate because I could not swallow it. The onion rings were very heavy and greasy. The service was at best average, We were constantly waiting for refills , even asking for them."

  • "We booked a table for Sunday afternoon following a high school graduation. The food was delicious and the atmosphere perfect for a special occasion. While Ruth's Chris can be pricey for dinner, the lunch menu is quite reasonable and provides a wide variety of dishes for all tastes. The restaurant even sprinkled confetti in the shape of stars and mortar board hats on the table in honor of our graduates, who were thrilled. We look forward to visiting again soon!"

  • "Knoxville version of ruth chris is much better...Caesar salad had a crisp that tasted stale, though the dressing was good, but no offer of fresh ground pepper. Steak under seasoned and of the three at the table, none were cooked to the requested temps. The side items were generally very good but the shoestring potatoes came out cold. Our waitress had to be asked for a steak knife and had trouble keeping wine and water glasses full....where was her assist? There was a little stand with silverware and water right next to the table so it was busy in our corner...we won't return to here- would much rather travel a bit further to Knoxville...ruth Chris can be so much better than this..."

Unless you are on an expense account, however, the prices are reasonable for the quality involved, but beyond those expected for a normal dinner out. We now consider this restaurant a must for special occasion dining. A birthday would not be complete without a visit to Ruth's Chris Steak House."

  • "Disappointment reigned supreme. Although Jeremy provided excellent service we asked to be moved to another table in his area to get away from a couple of flies. Gumbo was very tasty. Filet arrived well done but was ordered medium the manager apologized but offered no real concern or gesture of sincerity. It overall a let down and this restaurant has been marked off our list of must dine here. "

  • "I love Ruth's Chris and have been to several excellent locations. Last time I was at this location was December 2013. That visit was excellent. This May visit was not very good. The waiter was fine, but was completely overboard with his upsell technique, which was a major turnoff. The service was very fast. The salads were top notch. The biggest disappointment was the filet. They were cooked correctly, but poorly trimmed with a poor shape on the cut. The flavor was pretty good, but the excess fat on a filet takes away from the experience of what should be an amazing cut of beef. The French press coffee was excellent. Based on previous Ruth's Chris experiences, this experience under-delivered."

  • "If you need to have that "Sophisticated" feeling to dine, than this is for you ! Don't get me wrong, the food was very good. I don't like the "A la Carte" way of ordering. I don't want to pay $8+ dollars for a salad, and $8+ for a potato. Atmosphere is very drab. Our waitress was very efficient and nice, but this type of restaurant would not be my choice again."

  • "The ribeye was fabulous! Cooked correctly, well seasoned and delicious. The spinach side dish was good and the gumbo was excellent! The spinach was fresh and the gumbo rivaled any we've had in New Orleans or Memphis with the perfect seasonings and great rue consistency. Our server was very good and she was attentive but not over the top! The wine list was very nice and thorough! We enjoyed a bottle of Justin Cabernet and it was the perfect compliment to the ribeye. We would return in a heartbeat and will do so the next time we are in Chattanooga."

  • "This was our first time visiting Ruth Chris. I loved the valet parking. Loves the atmosphere and our waitress was amazing! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and especially the wines. The seared Ahi-tuna was the best I have ever had. The salad however had frozen and brown edges on a majority of the salad. This was a big no-no for me especially in such an establishment such as Ruth Chris. My husband ordered the lamb chops as they are simply his favorite. As Lamb is a gamey meat, they were to gamey and could have passed as mutton. I ordered a steak and it was cooked literally too perfection. My lobster tail however was over cooked as pulling the meat from the shell shredded the meat as well as not allowing me to get all the meat out."

  • "I was referred to this restaurant by a friend who travels a great deal. I ordered NY Strip well done. It came back Med Rare. My husband ordered Lobster... It was Awesome!!, However it was on the plate with my sons Cowboy Steak.... My son ordered the Cowboy Steak Medium... It came Rare!!! The steaks were on plates that were 500 degrees and in sizzling butter that splattered.... needless to say you had to wait for it to cool down or transfer to another plate."

  • "We went to Ruth Chris for our son's 16th birthday. They had the table decorated with 16 decorations. Greeted us by name and wishing him a happy birthday. The steaks were delicious! The sides were large enough for all three of us to share. The price is on the higher side. Would recommend for special occasions."
