Diner Reviews
  • "The food at RC is great and this time was no exception. The service was not at a level that one would expect from a place with this price level."

  • "The food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. Everyone was friendly and personable. From my first sip of wine to the last bite of creme brulee, everything was delicious. Service was outstanding."

  • "Stopped in for dinner before going to the pnc arena. Sat outside on the patio. Kristen was marvelous, professional yet friendly and when you dine here please get the porterhouse for two. It is hands down the best steak I have eaten anywhere."

  • "What a wonderful surprise that sweet potatoes makes such a nice “vegetable” desert. Wanted to go to the best steak house in the area and found a nice surprise in a new favorite special-occasion restaurant with my girlfriend."

  • "When everything is as close to perfection, this space for a "review" is hardly needed..As always, Ruth's Chris delivered us an early Christmas package on Christmas Eve 2013..had a table of 7 and they never missed a beat..Can't wait to go back"

  • "Our waiter, Justin, had far too many tables he was responsible for. We did not get the outstanding experience we normally do at Ruth's Chris Steakhouses. The restaurants in Columbia, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C., were definitely a cut above the Cary restaurant. The food was not quite up to par at the Cary restaurant either. My medium cooked RibEye was more like medium well. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night. We all have them."

  • "This was my first valentines with my boyfriend, so we wanted it to be special. The food was very good, however we had some other issues. They didn't have their normal menu or ruth's classics, so what we had planned to purchase was not an option and the budget we had set for it, as two college students, wasn't even close. Secondly, I have never been to this location, but if really felt like they had put up tables EVERYWHERE to capitalize on valentines weekend. It really ruined the mood, you were sitting on top of people and could hear every conversation from about 8 different tables. The servers were also swamped and the kitchen was really backed up, so slow service, and the servers were constantly apologizing. Just disappointing."

  • "My husband and I dined here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. We ordered the lamb chops, and they were divine!! As always, the food is delicious, and the service is impeccable."

  • "Our server, Stella, was awesome. She was very attentive yet unobtrusive. Our food was excellent and our steaks were cooked to perfection. We could not have picked a better place to have our Valentine's Day celebration. Tops all around. The roses that were given out when you were greeted was also a nice touch."

  • "Looked forward to a great dinner with my son. We are foodies. I was excited to spend my $240 worth of gift cards at Ruth Chris. We decided to go to Cary because it is close to home. From the time we walked in until the time we left my experience was far less than expected. We had reservations so we got a table but only after having to wait at the stand while the one hostess seated people. The Manager was on the phone. Out seats were dirty (crumbs). Ordered cocktails and it took at least 10 minutes, ordered app and did not get side plates or oyster forks until we had to ask. My wine glass sat empty for several minutes before being asked if wanted another drink. Just not what I would expect. We enjoy taking our time but this was too much."

  • "The best steaks in town! Great desserts too. I don't typically have dinner at the bar; however, the bar area is more of a lounge, and upscale. As a woman who is very uncomfortable having dinner alone in a restaurant, I would definitely consider it in the bar; as there were others eating alone."

  • "We took advantage of Triangle Restaurant Week's promotion of a three course meal for a fixed price of $30. The food was excellent but we did not get our food in a timely manner. I don't think it had anything to do with the kitchen as others around us seemed to be getting their food in a reasonable amount time...some who were actually seated after us. We chose to have our desserts packaged to bring home because at that point we had been there for 2 hours."

  • "We went during the "restaurant week" in Raleigh, NC. Even though the dinners were $30 each (we had salad, steak and dessert) by the time we added some wine, sparking water, a side dish and some coffee - we spent $150 (including tax and tip) for the dinner. I read the dress code on the restaurant's web site before we left for the afternoon (business casual) and we dressed accordingly. There were other tables with people in jeans and sneakers so I guess it is just something "recommended" but not "enforced". It was a nice experience - but one that may not be repeated very often."

  • "We had a great evening and incredible service. Our waitress was wonderful and the food as always delicious. I could have definitely eaten more scallops, they were very fresh and seasoned perfectly. The Pork Chops were prepared exactly as requested, the sides were enough to share."

  • "Understandably, R-C was busy, Triangle Restaurant Week. I requested a quiet, romantic table so my wife and I could enjoy our one-night every 6 months out. We were seated in an overly bright. extremely loud wide open area of the restaurant. Loud enough that we did not hear the child 2 tables away. Our waitress was exceptional, fulfilling our nearly-every need. The food was flavorful, but even with TRW discounts, quite over-priced. This was not my first time to RC, but we went as our first choice was booked. I am sure R-C has a very good following, the food is delicious, but I did not receive the value I needed to return; throw in the loud bright atmosphere, I suspect I will not return."

  • "We went during "Restaurant Week" where restaurants in the area offer a special reduced meal which of course drives up traffic. The service was slower and more distracted than usual due to the crowd at the restaurant. Otherwise, the food and atmosphere were great as usual."

  • "We went to RC during Restaurant Week 2014, it was as amazing as it is every other time we've been. It was myself, my husband, a friend and my mother. It was my mother's first time and she's beyond addicted, she ordered the petite filet mignon, rare and was impressed by the quality of the meat and the flavor. Myself and my husband ordered the 12 oz pork chop medium-well, I've never been to a place that consistently cooks it right every single time I've been. The flavor was amazing!"

  • "This Ruth's Chris was OBVIOUSLY not prepared to handle the volume of patrons that came with Triangle Restaurant Week! We arrived at 7:45 for an 8pm reservation and was seated at 8:20. We were seated in a small room of about 7 other tables staffed with 3 waiters. Our water refills were the only thing that was timely all night. The three waiters looked like they were frantically serving 500 people with one hand tied behind their backs. Needless to say it took and hour to get our entree. A few tables around us were about to get up and walk out and my wife and I felt the same way. It was nearly a disaster but the food was good so that's why I gave 2 stars on my review."

  • "The menu is always wonderful! Best steak around. The service seems to be very inconsistant. Never terrible, just seldom is it great."

  • "This was my second time going to Ruth's Chris (first time was amazing) and was very disappointed. My wife and I went with 2 other couples and made reservations during restaurant week. We showed up on time and were excited to eat, but we quickly found out that it would be a long night. It took at least 30 minutes to get our drinks and after that about 20 minutes before our waiter came back to place our order. It was busy but with it being restaurant week I would have assumed they would have planned for this. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizers (only salads and a gumbo choice) and we didn't get our main course until 2 hours after our reservation time (7:15 - 9:15ish)!! Our waiter even mentioned that he was sorry for the excessive wait."

  • "We first ordered a cocktail and it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks. We each ordered the pri-fixe dinner for $59.95, all ordering our steaks "medium". The salads took a long time to be brought to our table. Three of the steaks were cooked as ordered; the 4th steak was rare, sent back and brought back as rare again, and sent back again! For a steak restaurant, you would think that steaks would be prepared as ordered, especially since we all ordered ours cooked the same! After dinner, we were served coffee, and about 20 minutes after the coffee was brought to the table, the dessert finally arrived. We did not have this experience at the Ruth's Chris restaurant in Durham, but we will not be back to this one in Cary!"

  • "We have never has a bad experience at Ruth's Chris. the service is excellent and the food is incredible. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. They take care of all the little details leaving you to enjoy the evening."

  • "Great service and the food was excellent…served hot with great side dishes..Expensive, but well worth the dinning experience..."
    Dined on 1/11/2014
  • "Food is so expensive. Kitchen was very busy. My steak was to be Med well and was almost inedible as it was charred on both sides. Waiter was friendly and attentive but it took about 20 minutes to get my martini from the bar - and it was one of the suggestions off the new years eve menu. I will probably go elsewhere for special occasions in the future. Everything is just too expensive and not any better than the outback."

  • "Dined New Year's Eve when we were promptly seated at 6:30 PM at a table for two in the vicinity of the kitchen pass through. Location was somewhat noisy and annoying and I would not recommend this seating location. The restaurant was holiday busy and service attentive, but slow. We were compensated with complimentary wine and dessert, which was much appreciated. The calamari was very good. Lobster bisque was just okay. The petite filets, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes were worth the hefty price. Banana cream pie for dessert was also just okay. Overall a good, if somewhat slow, holiday dining experience. Is it worth the hefty price, $200+ for two? Only for a special occasion."

  • "I don't go often - but I was impressed that the waiter remembered us. The food as expected was amazing. the steaks where cooked perfectly - I actually asked for med-rare and thats exactly what I got. The sides were delicious - even the simple broccoli was yummy."

  • "This is our go to restaurant when we want to be waited on with impeccable service and the most tender steaks in Raleigh! Another birthday celebration at Ruth's!"

  • "Everything was very good but service was a bit slow for a lunch. Too much time between ordering and getting salads. The food is good but a bit over priced."

  • "Our dining experience was over the top! We scheduled this for a small office Christmas luncheon. We were promptly greeted upon arrival. The greeter offered to take my assistant's coat which was perfect! After we were seated, our server promptly arrived and was awesome. She was knowledgeable of the menu, warm, inviting, exciting, not to chatty, not invasive, and always on time with more water. She followed up at appropriate times without fanfare, but in a most professional manner. The food was awesome. I won't speak for the others in my party except to say that all were complimentary. I started with the best gumbo I've ever had. My scallops were perfect. Coffee and dessert were delightful."
