We celebrated two family birthdays together there, and had a fantastic time. Our large party was no problem for our server who even offered to split up the check in what ever way we needed; even though we did not ask him to do it. He made great suggestions on the menu, and the food was excellent. Parking was very easy - right across the street. I can't say enough good things about my experience. I had been to Rusty Scupper many times but not recently (we do not live in the area any more). It was nice to come back and find it to be just as wonderful as my last visit. We had a group of eight and the service and food were wonderful. Though the menu is primarily meat and seafood- as you would expect...they were more than willing to accomodate the one vegetarian (me) among us. Parking is easy at the lot across from the restaurant and they validate, which is a plus in Baltimore.

Our waiter Devin provided the best dining experience you could wish for. His suggestion all were excellent and the food greatly exceeded our expectations. One thing i will say is that this site says that the dress is casual or divey, and this is not the case. This place is fairly dressy. Anyway, we were seated around the time of our reservation, right near the window, so we had an amazing view. The service was perfect, Vince was an awesome server. Food was all perfect as well, and the evening was all around wonderful. I cannot say enough positive things about this establishment, it was one of the best dinners I ever had. Highly recommend. We like to see the harbor and the new Philip's is inside the Power Plant and has zero atmosphere, so now we go to the Rusty Scupper. The crab cakes, soft shells and the view were all as good or better and the service was definitely better! We live in NJ and go to Baltimore every year to see the Orioles play, my husband was born in Bmore and we have eaten a lot of crab over the years and the Rusty Scupper is a new favorite. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, I think her name was Marina, she had an accent which sounded Russian, she was great. The restaurant had been a favorite of ours in the past but I'm sorry to say we had not visited in quite awhile. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, vary flavorable, served hot , and a very minimal wait. Of course the view of the inner harbor is not to be missed and adds a definite romantic atmosphere for dining. The meal was properly timed and every thing was perfectly prepared. For a kid friendly establishment, it was still romantic and worth the moderately high price. My wife loved it! I recently picked up a customer there & very much liked the inner harbor setting. I decided it would make a great location for a date night. I made reservations that night. The servers were very courteous and attentive, the food was fresh and delicious, plenty of good choices. The drinks were great as well, the desserts were tasty and plentiful. We rode the water taxi over to the restaurant, which was a beautiful sight and added to the excitement of the day, had a great view of the harbor at our table. The brunch was quite pricey, but it included the buffet, drinks, live jazz band and gratuity. There was a breakfast station, carving station, omlette station, seafood station and dessert station...great variety to choose from. They were very attentive and quite efficient. Our party consisted of 11 adults plus an 18-month old. The waiters were able to take care of all of our needs.
Also Julian, the maître'd, I believe, went above and beyond trying to arrange close seating for our family. He and I spoke the night before Mother's Day and Mother's Day and he was able to accommodate our unexpected change in reservations.
Not only was the food good, but the staff of the Rusty Scupper was cordial, hardworking and extremely efficient. We had not been back, because we had a awful dinner and service. What a difference time has made! We had an enjoyable evening. The food was actually pretty good for Mother's Day limited menu. No one had any compliants about the service or the food. Our waitress was wonderful and very friendly. She made sure our dining experience was pleasurable. We will definitely return in the future. We have heard the Sunday brunches are wonderful. We do not get into Baltimore for dinner very often because we live in Howard County and work in Washington.
