Diner Reviews
  • "The harbor view was lovely, the table perfect, the service attentive......but, the food was average and showed the lack of a knowledgable palate. I had a sliced, rare tuna with seaweed salad and Wasabi aioli. Sounds good and the tuna was perfectly cooked. But, and it is a big but, the tuna had been crusted with an intensely flavored (sort of spicy barbecue flavor) that completely overwhelmed the tuna. I am not opposed to seasoning, but I want it to enhance what I am eating, not bury it. I do not trust a chef that would make this kind of mistake."

  • "We continuously enjoy the familiar atmosphere and the good quality food. Although this time the oysters seemed of lesser quality. Service was very attentive and catering to special needs."

  • "The Rusty Scupper is the place you want to go from the time you get off the plane at BWI. The giant poster on the way to baggage claim entices you with the notion of great food and ambiance with one of the best views in Baltimore. It was what drew me in. However; what I eventually experienced was less than what I expected. A restaurant on the bay, I was disappointed to find a place that wasn't polished as an advertisment. The service was excellent with excellent wait staff. But I found their signature cocktails to be too sweet, and their food too salty. Not to mention the high cost from everything from the appetizers to the drinks. In my opinion this establishment is a skip. Head to Fell's point for a tasty meal and nice walk by the water."

  • "This was the highlight of a somewhat disappointing visit to Inner Harbor. Delightful, unique and varied menu selections. Our waiter Hugh was extremely knowledgeable about each offering, made some great recommendations and totally made our evening a pure delight. Oyster sampler very good, and my seared scallops 'mustard sauce' was perfectly subtle. The bread dipping sauce of roasted red peppers, garlic and almonds was to die for. Overall extremely satisfied."

  • "My nephew from Austin, Texas said it was the fanciest restaurant he'd ever been in. He loved the popcorn shrimp and my crab cake was perfect. The little ones, 6 and 3, were transported by the view. We especially appreciated the fact that the restaurant gave us a discount on parking. A great place to takeout-of towners!"

  • "The view can't be beat. The food is very good. We had the cream of crab soup, the broiled seafood sampler and the fish and chips."

  • "I booked online over 1 month in advance and I made a specific request to sit on the harbor side near the band. When we arrived we were directed to a quieter area near the carving station and with a horrible view. I was a little irritated b/c there were plenty of seats near the trio and with great views. The staff was very accommodating and moved us promptly. In fact, they moved us twice since we found some friends there and wanted to sit 2gether. You redeemed yourself Rusty Scupper!"

  • "We arrived early, but our table was already available. The view was beautiful and the food fantastic. Highly recommended!"

  • "Outstanding brunch. Too bad the staff deosn't know how to make an omlette, clear the table or carve beef. The jazz was so loud, no one at the table could talk over the noise."

  • "we enjoyed celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary at your elegant establishment. Our waiter was on point we were more than happy to give him a tip. The food on the bar was tasty and well kept the food never ran out and it was hot. I have already told my family and friends about the resturant and are planning to visit again very soon!!!! way to go."

  • "Everything was perfect. My 18th anniversary went very well. Just like the day I proposed to my beautiful wife. The waitress surpised my wife by wishing us a happy anniversary and that was all we needed. That acknowledgement. She was talking about it the whole night. When she is happy I am very happy. Thank you for making this day a very happy one."

  • "The food never disappoint, but the service was a lot suspect! Our waiter wasn't very friendly, he didn't keep the table clean, he didn't keep the drinks flowing, and I walked our kinda mad that I made it a must to visit with my family this time on our yearly trip to B'more. Really not sure when we will come back bc of this waiter and his service."

  • "A friend and I dined here last night despite reading some negative reviews...I always see their ad at the BWI airport and wanted to try it out. Being right on the water the scenic view and ambience is exceptional. The manager was great in getting us a table right away even though we were early. Our waitress was a little slow but eventually got into the swing of things. Great meal...we got the sea food combination platter - way too much food and the crab cake and shrimp was delicious. Definitely going back."

  • "I selected this location for a brunch outing and boy was I overwhelmed... If I could change ONE thing is that they would offer either a turkey or chicken bacon/sausage on the buffet for the brunch. Although apparently it was there because I server was MORE than accommodating and bought some to our table, which was delightful! Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Rusty Scupper!! There're soooo many options to choose from, clearly as my name states, I eat2Much and on this day I truly did because I was literally full for two full days! Highly recommend!"

  • "My wife and I dined there on July 4 and the experience was exceptional. They had a wide variety of menu selections and a great wine and drink list. Our meals and drinks were delicious and filling. Our server, Apistole, was attentive and helpful with menu selections. We would definitely go there again."

  • "Everything from reserving a table to finishing the meal was effortless. Of course we ordered seafood because how can you not when you are sitting above the water? Although a little salty, our dishes did NOT disappoint. The crab soup was a meal in itself and I loved that the waitress advised us to share, because the bowl was huge! After we let that settle, my husband ripped into a crab cake and lobster tail while I ate every sea creature known to man on a bed of linguine. The portions were just right, where you felt you got a decent meal for what the price was. The only thing that surprised me was how casual the dress code was and how many families were there dining. From the website, it seems more of a formal dining atmosphere."

  • "Although our Server was extremely professional, attentive and engaging we were a bit disappointed with both the speed of the meal and the fact that it had been wrongly plated. It was busy due to the long weekend and rushed was our general feeling."

  • "I've lived in Baltimore my whole life, but just tried the rusty scupper for the first time. Rockfish Chesapeake was the best I've ever had, and the oysters were amazing. The view of the city is breathtaking. Is not cheap, but we'll worth a visit!"

  • "We enjoyed our visit to the Rusty Scupper. The Inner harbor was very busy and the restaurant was too, but they managed to seat us on-time and we had a nice dinner. The service was a little slow, but that was expected with the crowd."

  • "Booked here in conjunction with fireworks at the Inner Harbor and at Fort McHenry. Our waiter, Logan, was a lovely young man - very knowledgeable and very attentive. We timed our dinner perfectly and watched the fireworks from just outside your door. Thank you."

  • "We went to Rusty Scupper on 4th of July. It was packed similarly to what someone would find at a generic chain seafood restaurant. Predictably the service was poor. Our waitress took a long time to get to us. However when she did she was fairly pleasant. The noise level was moderate to loud due to all the people. The food was okay. I had the Mahi Mahi. My wife and sister liked their dish. The price of the dinner was moderate. I don't think I'd go back for dinner but ai'd check out their brunch."

  • "We visited your location for our anniversary. The restaurant was a little loud that evening due to a party that was being held there. We just happen to be two tables from stairs to level where party was. Waier was great. He was also training. He was training was great as well. Honestly liked my selection better than my husbands. He ordered a crab cake and I ordered the seafood platter. The best on the plate was by far the scallops! Dessert was great too. We arrived early evening and was able to see the water with day activities but also greatly enjoyed the evening with a sunset. We did misunderstand the host when we arrived that the parking with validation would be free. When leaving the lot attendant did charge. But it was not very costly."

  • "Four yrs. ago my best friend moved to Douglasville, Ga. This was her first return home since leaving, so I felt obligated to add to her amazement of the changes in the city, a pleasurable dining experience . We did the Sunday brunch. She had never eaten at the Rusty Scupper so sitting there looking out at the inner harbor, listening to the Jazz combo and remembering life in Baltimore, she tearfully expressed appreciation for my choice. Outside of visiting family and close friends, I know there was no other place I could have taken her, where she would have felt the delight of being home."

  • "The Sunday brunch is amazing. There is a great view of the harbor. The variety of food is very good; there is something for everyone. I highly recommend the Belgium waffles, scallop and shrimp macaroni, and/or a made-to-order omelette. The lines are not long and the service is excellent."

  • "Great for special occasions. Skip lunch and arrive before sunset to watch the city's lights come on for the night. Take a stroll along the harbor after dinner. The staff, service, ambiance and view are excellent. The food is good but not great (given the cost)."

  • "Rusty Scupper is not trading on its location, but it is a mixed bag. The crab cake was excellent, the views were great, Salmon was good, and the wine list was well thought out. Unfortunately it took us 1:45 after being seated to get the Salmon, the crab cake was lukewarm because the server obviously was slow getting it out, and the ambience is not pure fine dining (some people there for a nice evening out, a few families with kids, and a drunken post-game Oriole crowd stumbling in and taking Italian showers in the bathroom). Worth a visit for the food and the views. The service issue seemed to be confined to our server as tables around us turned over 2-3x while we were on our 2+ hour tour."

  • "We had a window view of the Harbor facing the Aquarium and Harbor East. There was constant activity on the water and on the promenades around Pratt Street and Harbor East. It was a great atmosphere and felt like we had a our own window on the harbor. Wait staff was wonderful and remembered that it was our wedding anniversary without being prompted. The General Manager also visited our table for a long chat as well which was a nice touch. Food was fine as well."

  • "Being a midwesterner, we wanted seafood and found a great place at the Rusty Scupper. Great seafood with a knowledgeable staff that helped us select great meals for the adults and kids. It was a very large restaurant and very busy, but the wait staff made it feel personal. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a great seafood meal in Baltimore."

  • "nice scenary. grossly over priced. $8 dollar for a glass of domestic draft beer that was literatlly in a water size glass. $11 for a domestic wine coconut shrmp was greasy. go for view but not for food."

  • "The Rusty Scupper provides a great dining experience. The location provides a nice view of the harbor. The ground floor of the garage parking next door is for RS dinners only and is subsidized (cost $8). Food is always good quality and reasonably priced. By this I mean I go to the RS for whole dinning experience, not just the food. I have taken small groups of customers to the RS several times and it is always a big hit. The staff are attentive, but not in your face."
