The food is excellent and the service is friendly and efficient. I gravitate toward the NY Strip Steak and it is among the best I've ever had. The Swordfish Chop, when available is equally good. The food was outstanding... started with the tuna tartare appetizer special... delicious! I had the scallops.. perfectly cooked with a lovely reduction. My date had the duck. He very much enjoyed it, I had a bite and it was cooked the way duck should be served. We enjoyed the ambiance and the service. Swordfish chop is outstanding and an unusual offering on Chicago menus, while not a steakhouse their NY strip ranks among the best in a city where the steakhouse is king. Had the rack of lamb accompanied by an arugula salad and creamed corn brûlée on Saturday evening - great meal. Several rotisserie offerings everyday, adequate wine list, god selection of scotch and bourbons. We often take out of town guests for a taste of neighborhood Chcago - they're always impressed and pleased. Hadn't been in awhile and left asking myself why... Had the rotisserie pork this time, and it was as good as the chicken last time. The grilled octopus was outstanding again, and the wine carafes are such a good idea for trying out new wines. The front door is almost dangerous so careful with elderly or infirmed. That said the food, service friendliness were just great. Went because of Chef week and the price fixe meal options were great. While the had two options per category this enabled us to order one of each and swap tastes. Just great. Steak although not cooked as requested, my friend wanted med-well and got med-rare, was tasty to the max. Mt friend didn't even want to send it back it was that good. I had the fish and while just a tad over done, was as tasty as could be. The apple tart at the end with ice cream was just lovely.
