A word from Rustic, Francis's Favorites
Open for lunch and dinner Francis Ford Coppola shares his personal pantheon of recipes at RUSTIC, Francis’s Favorites, the winery’s full-service restaurant. RUSTIC’s menu embraces international as well as traditional Italian dishes, with an emphasis on family-style cooking that features fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the property’s organic herb and produce garden. Authentic, Neapolitan-style pizzas are also a specialty. A focal point of the dining room at RUSTIC is the Parrilla (pronounced “pah-REE-jah”), an authentic Argentine grill. Manned by the restaurant’s dedicated Asador, or grill-master, it provides a true South American experience of delicious, wood-grilled meats. RUSTIC offers service in our casual dining room and on an outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards of Alexander Valley. A bar adjacent to the restaurant also serves a full complement of cocktails and an extensive wine and beer

fantastic location for viewing the hills and vineyards. Fun place to play, swim and explore. Food, not so good. Watery Morroccan Lamb. Dryden out pasta Carbonara. Had remembered it as being Good food. Maybe we just hit it at the wrong time, 2pm. Very pricey.

Excellent food. If you want to carry on a conversation, then get an outside table. Even with the high ceilings, the acoustics in the inside dining room are very bad especially when there are several large groups seated. It is beyond "lively/energetic". Service was inattentive. They seem to have many servers, but they may be playing to larger groups more than to a single couple. Come early and get an outside table and perhaps you will be able to write a more glowing review.

In the middle of wine country sitting on the patio having lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, you can't beat it! The food was great! We had the Habit forming ribs and Grilled Salmon. The waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable. After lunch we walked out to the vineyard and tasted grapes off the vine.

This is a perfect place to celebrate a vacation to wine country. Sunset time was beautiful. We did the wine paring dinner. Food was perfect and it was a great chance to taste wine I might not order. I had lamb chops, dining partner had steak. Large portions on both. Hope to return again.

I did the paired menu and found that I really enjoyed most of the meal. From the appetizer through dinner, the food and wines were both pleasing to the palette and the eye. The pesto rice ball was great, and for someone who isn't usually a sparkling wine fan, I found I enjoyed them together. The salad was nicely paired, and the steak had a wonderful big bold red alongside. Dessert was a bit much. Since port is sweet on its own, the selections could have highlighted some of its more understated flavors instead. I felt like that portion of the meal hit me like a 16 wheel truck of sweetness---too strong for my taste! My server William was fantastic! He was personable, but not too chatty, and made sure I always had something to sip.

We took a friend, who is a world traveler, up to Rustic for lunch and she was amazed by the scenic setting. Our 3 lunches were all different and excellent. I took a bite of my husband's pizza and it was superb. We are Sonoma locals and plan to go back and have pizza and wine on the terrace. Rustic also features an extensive wine list that includes other Sonoma wines (although we loved our Coppola wine choices). We really enjoyed going through the museum and seeing the mementos from Francis's movies I had never been up that close to a real Oscar (Francis has 4)plus the other awards he received. Lastly, my husband and I got a big kick out of the big swimming pool and cabanas on the property. We'll go back for a swim too!

This is our second time at Rustic and we were hoping it had improved since the last time. It had not. While the broccoli rabe was good, as were the pizzas, the pezzole was dry and tasteless, the white beans almost uncooked and without any flavor, and the servers acted put upon if we asked for anything. We had brought friends from NY there as a special treat and they were pretty mortified that this is considered a good restaurant. We won't be back.

Ate here after wine tasting and having some appetizers at the bar. Since it's at a winery, you can have the bar or the restaurant staff serve up any bottles you purchased, and there is no corkage fee. The outside patio was a great place to hang out and have our bottle of white with a pizza while we waited for our reservation. We had dinner outside, and there is an amazing view. Our reservation was after dark, so we didn't get to see much of it, but their decor outside is still beautiful. Mostly the wait staff was attentive, although our waiter initially sprinted from the table after explaining the specials, so we had to wait for him to come back before we could ask our questions. The food was all delicious. Great wine country option!

When you arrive, it is like entering the Magic Kingdom, large stairs and all. The Door Hostesses were rude and disorganized. It took us 20 minutes just to check in for our reservation. Although they seated us immediately, it was still inexcusable. Our server was pleasant, but poorly trained. The food was on par with any mediocre chain you can name. We had a table at the edge of the vineyard, which had an absolutely beautiful view. That was the only reason to come here. Been there, seen it, will not go back.

Our first visit. Food was great; the view is INCREDIBLE; service was faultless. After dinner, we wandered the building to see the film memorabilia and Oscars, which are very cool. We discovered outdoor live music and the "pool menu" of salads, pizzas, sandwiches, which would have been perfect for a hot night. Next time...

Beautiful view of the vineyard and nice server. We waited about 10 minutes to get seated. After arriving at our table, it took about 30 minutes for our server to introduce himself. He explained the menu well. My husband ordered the New York Steak medium rare. After almost 1 1/2 waiting for our main dish, his steak came back well done. We were very disappointed! We've had better steaks at our local Chilis, that is horrible but true to say. We didn't say anything because we didn't want to wait another hour for a new steak and we were already starving. On the other hand, my order of rack of lamb was tasty. I just felt horrible for my husband because he didn't enjoy it at all. We probably wont come back again. Food is everything to us!

It was really busy on a holiday weekend. As a local, I prefer it when it is quieter. They had long waits lots of people and lots of empty tables, so leads me to believe it might be management issues. Food was good but predictable. Service is always distant and uninterested. Large menu to eat whatever you are in the mood for. Tourists and visitors are always impressed.

We've been here before, one of our goto places when we're in Sonoma county. Great views of the vineyards, still many items we haven't tried on the menu. Choose the patio, weather permitting. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The rack of lamb was amazing and cooked to order, the brick chicken was a golden brown delight, and the linguine and clams were delicious as always. Coppola's wines are market price, and you can't beat that.
