A word from Rustic, Francis's Favorites
Open for lunch and dinner Francis Ford Coppola shares his personal pantheon of recipes at RUSTIC, Francis’s Favorites, the winery’s full-service restaurant. RUSTIC’s menu embraces international as well as traditional Italian dishes, with an emphasis on family-style cooking that features fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the property’s organic herb and produce garden. Authentic, Neapolitan-style pizzas are also a specialty. A focal point of the dining room at RUSTIC is the Parrilla (pronounced “pah-REE-jah”), an authentic Argentine grill. Manned by the restaurant’s dedicated Asador, or grill-master, it provides a true South American experience of delicious, wood-grilled meats. RUSTIC offers service in our casual dining room and on an outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards of Alexander Valley. A bar adjacent to the restaurant also serves a full complement of cocktails and an extensive wine and beer Continued

  • "We are wine family members but I think all the staff makes you feel like family all the time! My favorite restaurAnt.. Only complaint isvthatvit is too far from Santa Rosa!!!"

  • "Of course, the main attraction of this place is the Francis Ford Coppola name. Located at his winery in Geyserville, it's definitely a celebrity restaurant. Despite that, the food is good with a reasonably eclectic, if somewhat limited, menu. Even if you're not a wine fanatic, you might enjoy this place for the food and the people-watching. Outdoor dining on a nice evening is worth trying for."

  • "My friend and I chose Rustic to celebrate her birthday. Sadly, nothing special was done to make it a celebration; no free dessert or candle in the lemon tart we shared at the end of the meal. Our outdoor table was lovely, but bees became aggressive and we moved indoors. Our French hostess was great, our waiter was attentive, good-natured with the right amount of chat. The "chicken under brick" was yummy, crisp skin, but it could have been more tender and salt was needed. My friend ordered the Morroccan dish, and was underwhelmed. The little white paper bag of 2 beignets proved disappointing. No free additional bread. But we loved the complimentary portion of a delicious Sofia Coppola's Blanc de Blanc. So good, I bought more!"

  • "I took my Mom to Rustic for her 89th birthday. We had a wonderful experience. The terrace was beautiful, the food was great, the view spectacular. We both enjoyed it very much. After lunch we walked around looking at the movie memorabilia."

  • "I am embarrassed at how long it took us to discover Rustic. Francis's team knows how do do food. We can't wait to take more friends there. Staff are especially personable. Whole fish baked in salt is a must to try. Most tender fish I've ever eaten..."

  • "Being a wine member, you would think the service would be great. Not tonight. Last night before going home and I was so disappointed. Considering canceling my membership. Our server covered too many tables. Not my problem but he made it mine."

  • "We've been to Copppola's several times when traveling to this area. This time, surprisingly, the place was empty. Maybe it was due to a Monday night. Our group got a beautiful table for dinner outside. As it got a little cooler, overhead heaters came on like magic. Cannot beat the view from the patio! Our waiter was attentive. Wine was delicious. Food was okay. We loved the appetizers, zucchini and a bowl of olives. Although it was the same menu, tonight's meals were flat. Shortribs were chewy. Rack of Lamb a bit undercooked for medium rare. Whole fish in salt was bland. Not to the point of sending back to the kitchen, but unremarkable. We've had remarkable, wonderful meals here. Maybe an off night, but an expensive off night."

  • "We recently dined at Rustic and were amazed by the experience! We were celebrating our 11th anniversary and did so in style! The wine was great, food was outstanding, and service was very attentive. Thank you for a fabulous time."

  • "This was recommended to us by our B&B host and as it was for an anniversary dinner, they said this was the place to go in the area. All aspects were perfect. The food was outstanding and surprisingly reasonably priced. Amazing wine selections and the view of the vineyards from the terrace was absolutely beautiful. Ihighly recommend this restaurant to all."

  • "We were treated like royalty! Your maitre d was outstanding, a lady , who answered our every need. Our waiter, George, explained each item on the menu, recommending the rack of lamb. All five of us ordered the lamb. It was exquisite, the best I have ever eaten and the portion was the largest I have ever been served. Now I was channeling Henry the VIIIth. Two of our guests were very late in arriving. George was so patience and good humored about the situation. We will return! What a beautiful experience and day!"

  • "I had the linguini vongole and the whole dish lacked seasoning. One slice of bread would have been nice to accompany the dish since the broth was very watery. Or make the broth a bit creamy. The pastry with the cremed filling and chocolate sauce was very good. The background music was horrible, in a beautiful setting like that would it not be nice to listen to Kenny G, Boccelli or Italian instrumental music? The scenic setting reminds me every time of Northern Italy, it is absolutely beautiful"

  • "I like Rustic's combination of a beautiful setting and unpretentious, tasty food. The outdoor seating is lovely. When the place filled up, the service got a little slow, but not enough to spoil a pleasant evening."

  • "Out to dinner with loved ones for a 37th Anniversary!. Perfect weather, perfect view..wonderful Rack of Lamb served. Server was Adam who despite being very busy attended to the seven of us impressively. Always to return for such outstanding food, good value and nothing but nothing is better than alfresco dining on the terrace!"

  • "We ate at Rustic on a Tues. evening, when the meal is family style, the waitstaff is in costume and in character as one big Italian family. and the music is live accordion and opera. It was a rich mix of food and fun. The courses just kept coming - a vast assortment of pastas, meats, risotto, and salads. Highly recommend it!"

  • "Went on a Tuesday, and Rustic was doing "a tavola" family-style fixed-price dinner, where the wait-staff continuously bring food to your table. We were worried this would be "low-brow", but we thought the experience was fun (not excessive or overwhelming). The wait-staff are in-character (as an Italian family), and in-costume. The food was pretty good; seemed like they cooked in small batches, each was hot & fresh, and you could eat as much/little of each dish, with well over 10 choices (salads, pastas, meats, deserts). The dining was indoors, but we had wine on the patio, with INCREDIBLE views over the vineyards and valleys. The room is loud, and a few musicians added to the din, but overall a fun night."

  • "I have done the a tavola before and enjoyed it very much. The food and servers were great. The only two things I did not like was the accordion player WAY TOO LOUD! We dined at 6:15, and the service was very rushed. We asked for it to slow down, and it did for a few minutes, but then it was one plate after another. In the past we dined later, and I would go again, and book a later time."

  • "We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Rustics at their special Tuesday night Tavola. Our "family" at Rustics mentioned our special occasion several times and treated us with champagne and a table side serenade from their accordion player. We had a fabulous time. Tommy and Sheila from Georgia!"

  • "I have been here many times for lunch. Love it. Went for the Tuesday Italian dinner. Enjoyable but the food seemed to be pushed on us. I sat down, didn't get to order a drink and the food was there already. I seriously don't think we were there 2 minutes. My drink came but I really didn't enjoy it because I had to eat so fast to keep up. I get the concept but finally told the waiter if he could slow up. The food was wonderful but if I only had more time to enjoy each course. I hope you take my comments into consideration. I was with 2 friends and my sister and it was my sister's first time so I was disappointed for her. We were stuffed, our choice I know, but we both feel having to eat so quickly was part of it. Thanks."

  • "We had a wonderful diner at Rustic. We were seated outside on the veranda overlooking the vineyard. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely efficient. We had the reserve estate pinot noir, an exceptional caesar salad and the rigatoni and meatballs. I believe it rated up there as one of the best meals that I have ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area."

  • "We came in from out of town, (as it seems most people do), we the restaurant sits on the Coppola winery which has the appearance of something like an amusement park. We sat on the balcony, away from all the hub bub from the wine tasting area, other bars, and pool. We were there for an early dinner, we did the tasting menu, the meal was pricey, however, we expected to spend a good amount. Food was very good and it was a fun way to try some of Coppolas higher end wines. The highlight for us was definitely the view, though. The outside seating provides a breathtaking view, it overlooks the vineyard and mountains."

  • "When we get out of Mendocino County for a trip to Santa Rosa we usually stop here for a nice lunch. It's not your every day run-of-the mill place to grab a bite. The menu isn't going to appeal to everyone, but the salads or little pizzas will do when you find nothing else on the menu that sounds appealing. I'd like to see more variety on their menu, but I'll still stop because the fried shoestring zuccini is addictive."

  • "The food was wonderful. It does have a feel to an amusement park as you go in to the winery/museum/pool club, compared to other area wineries/dining facilities. But the food was outstanding"

  • "I booked the restaurant for our 11 year anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and the service great! We do not drink alcoholic beverages so I had asked for sparkling cider or something of that sort. They presented us with a virgin drink that was absolutely wonderful. We celebrated our 10 anniversary there and perhaps we'll go there again for our 12th!"

  • "It is always fun to take visitors there to see the movie memorabilia. Service is usually very good. Food is usually very good and prepared a little different that a comparable dish at other restaurants. Hostess was not as attentive as usual - even with a reservation (for 6) we were told it would be another 10 minutes... and then another 5, which turned into about another 15... not a big issue this time, but sometimes that 30 minute delay could knock a schedule off. They were not that busy and could have done a better job of planning and timing. That said, once seated, the outside dining experience was great and all enjoyed the views, food and good service!"

  • "Coppola winery is another 'DisneyLand' venue like Castello di Amorosa-- overrun with tourists BUT, the restaurant is really quite good, especially if you can sit outside on the terrace Rather good caesar and pizzas You could do a lot worse"

  • "This is our favorite place to bring guests to enjoy the view and the great food. We love sitting on the terrace with the vineyards and mountains in front of us. The staff is also very attentive and there's something for everyone on the menu. It is certainly the best place in the area to enjoy the beauty of Sonoma wine country. I do recommend reservations. We have brought many guests here and have never been disappointed."

  • "We were fortunate enough to get in on the Tuesday night family style dinner. For a mere $35 we we treated to antipasti, warm bread, delicious fresh salads, fire roasted pizzas, three different yummy pastas, polenta, grilled London broil medium rare, herb roasted chicken, and two desserts! Believe me the food was very tasty, authentic, and fresh. New dishes were brought out during the course of the night and were spooned onto our plates. The staff is dressed In old school clothing and act as if you were eating at their house for a family dinner. It is a must if you are in Geyserville on a Tuesday night!"

  • "Our waiter, Justin made our experience one to remember! He was efficient, friendly and informative. He is a true professional and we felt he cared about meeting our needs. This was the perfect compliment to the amazing views and those habit forming ribs! Thank you Justin. We'll request you in the future."

  • "We did the $50 price fix with wine pairings. Descriptions of food made it sound much better than it tasted. Don't order the chicken. Plain, not crispy. Bumbolini(sp?) pasta dish was an off putting mushroom color. Our waiter was good but stretched thin. Wine pours were full & we had options not listed on the price fixe. Outside is beautiful if you can get a table. Late afternoon best time. Besides our included dessert we ordered Zepoles (fried dough, powdered sugar in a bag!) but all wrong, had salt sprinkled on them! After dinner we did play Bocce which was fun. Interesting grounds, maybe go for a sandwich & soft drink & then tasting."

  • "We love the authenticity of this restaurant. On Sundays traditional Italian is offered and we love it. The wine of course includes most of the Coppola wines and our favorite is the Directors Cut Chardonnay, 2012 Russian River Valley. We sat outside this time and it is beautiful and quiet with fabulous vineyard views. This is a very fun place for lunch - swimming pool, good shopping, lots of movie memorabilia - all very entertaining and interesting. I plan to do all of my Christmas shopping here! This isn't just a restaurant, it is the whole experience. I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars because it isn't The French Laundry or Chez Panisse, but it is really excellent. We have only been there on Sundays for the Italian dishes."

  • "Great food, good service and a view of the Coppola vineyards. What could be better as the sun is setting. Book a table on the patio after 6:30 and the vineyards will glow as the sun is setting. Lovely....don't miss it if you visit the winery."

  • "We visit and dine at Coppola/Rustic often; on our way from east bay to our property further up north. We have always enjoyed our meals and have been happy with the service, though the last two times (with in the last couple of months) we were seated outside (as requested) but way off to the side of the patio. Coincidentally we had the same server each time. I mentioned to him that on our previous visit we felt a bit neglected; a gentle nudge about service lacking. We enjoyed our Cesar and burger, and you certainly can't go wrong with a $12 bottle of Rosso- but again service was poor. When he did get to our table he was fine but the problem was that he rarely visited our table. 45 minutes passed before we reminded him about our food etc."
