A word from Rustic, Francis's Favorites
Open for lunch and dinner Francis Ford Coppola shares his personal pantheon of recipes at RUSTIC, Francis’s Favorites, the winery’s full-service restaurant. RUSTIC’s menu embraces international as well as traditional Italian dishes, with an emphasis on family-style cooking that features fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the property’s organic herb and produce garden. Authentic, Neapolitan-style pizzas are also a specialty. A focal point of the dining room at RUSTIC is the Parrilla (pronounced “pah-REE-jah”), an authentic Argentine grill. Manned by the restaurant’s dedicated Asador, or grill-master, it provides a true South American experience of delicious, wood-grilled meats. RUSTIC offers service in our casual dining room and on an outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards of Alexander Valley. A bar adjacent to the restaurant also serves a full complement of cocktails and an extensive wine and beer Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "My favorite restaurant (the steak Florentine is unbelievable)."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "A favorite. Know the menu quite well!!! The only negative is that the menu needs some updating. Has been the same since opening, and the options for non-meat, or non-red meat eaters, is very limited. But the appetizers are good, pizza is quite decent (considering that the best pizza place in Sonoma County is only a few minutes away in Geyersville center: Diavola), and the chicken dishes are very likeable. The staff is excellent, very professional and courteous and friendly, without being overly fussy which is appreciated. The bar is a favorite and hats off to Billy who is always welcoming and very smart. Great bartender. We will be back. We like this place too much not to come back. Not the greatest food, but comfortable and inviting."

  • "I like coming to Rustic especially when I can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views and weather."

  • "It was a Sunday evening at 7:15pm. The hostesses and female bartender were clueless with rapport and also coordinating the table for us. I made reservations and they let us sit at the bar for 20 min, (seating others ahead of us mistakenly because the 2 hostesses were not communicating) then when they went to seat us it was off in the back when there was an available table at front with a view. It took them 20 min more just to bus one table! Waiter was awesome but not going to dine there anytime soon if these are the girls they choose to represent Coppolas first impression.( bartender and hostesses)"

  • "We live close by so Rustic is one of our regular restaurants. The food is consistently good, good wine and cocktail list, and very nice servers. I also like that it's a very eclectic menu with some of Francis Ford Coppola's favorite dishes from his travel around the world. The rack of lamb is excellent!"

  • "Stopped by on our drive to Napa, what a beautiful place. Lunch was very good, service was excellent, and very fun to check out Mr. Coppola's movie paraphernalia and Oscar collection. Best part of our lunch experience was probably the view, so gorgeous!"

  • "Our previous visit was such a disappointment, but we are glad we tried again as it was so much better this time."

  • "The food was traditional with a couple unique eats here & there. The service was spectacular, very attentive & knowledgeable. Wine recommendations were well paired with food. Kudos to all for the consistent delivery of great food & service."

  • "We went to the Tavola family dinner that is served every Tuesday evening. They bring out an abundance of delicious itallian dishes. The staff dress in family old Italian clothing. Live music adds to the experience. A real value for the price. Not to mention the wine wasexveexcellent."

  • "My family and I really enjoyed Rustic. The Sophia sparkling wine is delightful and the pizza is delicious. Coppola winery is truly beautiful."

  • "Rustic is more than a restaurant, winery and Coppola's museum. The people that works there turns a dinner into an great event. Really amazing."

  • "we went as a party of five (although we only booked for four) and they were great at accommodating an extra person at the last moment. The food was excellent - and three of us enjoyed the pairing menu (which was made even better as Ben, our server, was happy to change wines and recommended other great pairings for us). Service great and never felt in a rush to move on, despite the front desk turning people away as they were booked. Cant wait to go back"

  • "If you're looking for a wonderful wine country experience, Rustic is your place. It's nestled in the Alexander Valley vineyards in beautiful Sonoma County. Francis Ford Copplola's winery is the crowned jewel of Sonoma County. Francis hand picked every dish on the menu. The food is delicious, the wine is "top shelf" and the ambiance is Rustic. I prefer dining outside on the patio with a table overlooking the beautiful vineyards, the view is breath taking. The staff are very attentive and courteous. I dine here so often that I became a wine family member now I enjoy all of the member benefits. I give. My overall experience at Rustic a 10 out of 10 ; )"

  • "As "First Family" members - we always enjoy our experiences at Rustic. The entire staff helps each other and are all about ensuring the diner has the best experience. Then there is the food: Perfection on a Plate. That works for us."

  • "We went on a rainy day, which meant we had to sit inside and miss some of the great view of the Alexander Valley, but the lunch was still worth it. Both of us had the grilled short ribs which were chewy, as grilled short ribs should be, and very flavorful. The grilled vegies were excellent and appropriate as a side for the short ribs. We did not have any salad or appetizer, but I have been told they are also very good., Since it was ny friend's birthday, we had dessert. He had an excellent creme bulle and I had the chocolate mouse which was very good. Rustic seems to get mixed reviews, but based on my one experience I found it very good."

  • "Rustic continues to excel. This time I had the lamb chops- fantastic."

  • "This restaurant has the most spectacular vineyard views in all of Sonoma County in my opinion. We've eaten at Rustic maybe 8 times now, and each time request a table on the terrace. The views make you feel like you're dining in Tuscany. Service can be a little slow, but the views and quality of the food outweigh the slow service. I highly recommend Rustic as a romantic or special occasion restaurant."

  • "The food is consistently excellent and so is the service. The view is absolutely breathtaking. We live nearby so usually go for lunch several times a year.....Love it!!!"

  • "I love Rustic, as does my usual posse when we get together. Not only is the food and view fantastic, the wine tasting and movie props are added entertainment. Wonderful gift shop, too."

  • "My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time. Tuesday night's are "to the table", meaning a family style pre set menu. The chef prepares dishes both from the menu and off the menu that are brought around to each table where the waiters will serve you some of that dish. For $35 each we got to taste 15+ different appetizers, salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. All dishes were fantastic. We had a window table with a beautiful view of the vineyard. The staff takes on the roles of the familia, and there was an accordion player going around playing and singing throughout the restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, so much fun!"

  • "We had great weather here in Sonoma County last week and that's when the Coppola terrace really shines. Four of us had drinks at the bar...including their excellent Negroni....then dined outside as the sun went down. Great service and a series of nice dishes. We have dined here more than once and for first time we went with the pasta, which is on the lower end of the menu price range. It was a pleasant surprise to find these dishes delicious, rivaling the higher priced 'Francis's Favorites'. One of the best things about Rustic is the wine list, which includes the Coppola wines you'd expect, but also some local stars like the Valdez Syrah which our table relished. A fine time at Rustic once again."

  • "Not all disabled people are in wheelchairs. Using a wheeled walker, the sidewalk from the disabled parking had an unexpected unmarked dip. The elevator takes you only one floor up, then you must negotiate a long steep ramp up to restaurant level. I will not go there again."

  • "Perfection! Great food, knowledgeable wait staff, all in a very classy setting. We ate in the patio and enjoyed the beautiful spring wisteria and distant views. It was as if we were in Italy. A very enchanting experience. Thank you FFCoppola. Raelynne"

  • "I am a native Californian and have lived in Sonoma and Mendocino counties for many years, however.I will be moving to Montana in a few short weeks. I joined my cousin at Rustic for a farewell lunch. When it's 40 below I'm sure I will be remembering a warm spring day looking over the vineyard, wonderful food, and good company. Will I find a perfect carbonara in a small town in Montana? Panna cotta? I think Rustic will have to be on the list of "must dos" when I return for visits."

  • "Rustic is life-giving—a friendly, creative, charming venue with outstanding views and a well-designed, delicious menu. The staff has a knack for putting guests at ease even while providing first-rate service. In keeping with the name of our wine club membership, we feel like "amici" whenever we come and whenever we leave! Bravi!!!"

  • "When we have friends visiting from out out town -- I'm always searching for a great restaurant that provides a great "wine country" experience here in Sonoma County. Sadly we don't have much to choose from that provides the whole experience, like our friends in Napa. While we have outstanding restaurants throughout the Sonoma County Region -- no one has a "view of wine country" like Coppola. We sat outside on the patio, great view of course. Experience ended there. Service for lunch was extremely slow and server seemed really disengaged. Food was not memorable what-so-ever. We did have beautiful spring weather that day, and my guests -- Extreme Foodies - from Chicago and Australia - liked the weather & view - and that's about it."

  • "We always visit Rustic for a special occasion. Birthdays, anniversaries, going away parties, etc. We try to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful vineyards (spectacular view and not as noisy.) Our food is always delicious. The wait staff is on top of things. We can't say enough. Thank you."

  • "We had a fabulous time! Everyone was so friendly and flexible. We enjoyed the wine tasting, had a wonderful lunch, played bocci ball and sat by the pool. Lovely setting. We even became wine family members! Thank you sooo much!"

  • "The entire staff was thoughtful, attentive, and mindful - not in an overbearing way, but in a way that showed that we were never forgotten. We tried the three course with wine pairing. We got to try a lot of things that way. We will definitely go back!"

  • "It's a fancy place, but for your salad you have one choice af dressing, which I didn't care for when it arrived, 40 minutes later. Our "server" was curt and dismissive, and in the whole process four different people brought or removed things at our table. To be fair, my wife's salmon was, she said, delightful. But I came away with the feeling that I was "just another tourist""

  • "We have been there twice before...the venue is so special. The food had been ok, but not the main draw. On this visit, I'd say the food was improved. Table for 4 ordered 3 different dishes and we had to ask for a doggie bag...rare for me. All were very pleased with their choices. I would now return again for the beauty of the place as well as for the food! A definite California iconic experience in wine country."

  • "The food here is fantastic. Our server was wonderful and helped us with the menu, came back often to check on us. We ordered a variety of things, it was my two daughters and I, and we all shared, so he brought extra plates! Most restaurants frown on that but not here! I love this place and I rarely dine out but will come here when I do!!!"

  • "What a wonderful day! It's been on our "list" for long time and we finally managed to make the trip to Geyserville! What a delightful experience! We'd made reservations for lunch but allowed ample time to tour the grounds. And, of course, we spent some time becoming acquainted with and sampling the wines. So much did we enjoy the Archimedes and Director's Cut (Zin and Cinema) that we bought a mixed case and joined the club to receive quarterly shipments! Lunch on the patio overlooking the vineyard was heavenly and our server was extraordinary! The food and service were 5-Star and we can't wait to return! Btw, car buffs will enjoy seeing the Tucker automobile (from the movie)!"

  • "Delighted with elevator availability. Looked at wine list, impressed with variety. Seated indoors for dining. Rack of lamb tasty but fatty for my liking. Took some home to remove. Crust delicious. Otherwise, meal was well cooked, ample, and well timed . Enjoyed Movie Museum and Gift shops . Will do some gift shopping here. Wonderful to stroll the beautiful terraces, to see the well maintained pool and grounds and to sit in the sun for a few minutes before re-entering the world below. The "Tucker"auto brought back memories of the showroom in Glendale, CA, where first I saw a similar model in an emerald green. That was perhaps the late 40s or early 50s. Very innovative car. Our overall experience here: A very satisfactory afternoon!"

  • "Marrakech lamb in clay pot was excellent. Salads were fresh, Italia creme puffs terrible. If my rating of the restaurant was limited to the food, I would give the restaurant a very good rating. The problem, however, was that the service was terrible. It seemed like there was no overall service plan in the restaurant. Several different servers came to the table at any given time, but we never received half of what we requested. Coffee was cold and we ended up with 12 replacement cups for 4 people, demonstrating that no one seemed to know what the other was doing. This caused one of the cups to spill and no one came to help. Our party of 4 can't recommend this restaurant."

  • "Brought my Mom here for lunch on a Mon. afternoon. It was lovely! We had a great lunch, some nice wine, and a view to die for. I am planning a trip for dinner, maybe for the Tues. night " A Tavola". I would love to see what they serve. The Caesar was crisp, and my chicken under the brick was tasty and moist. The waitstaff was polite, efficient and patient. Even willing to explain ALL the wines to a table near by. I will definitely be back, bringing others with me."

  • "This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. While so many "wine country" restaurants are pretentious, the staff here was down to earth and very friendly. They did an efficient job of servicing our table and only wavered a little at the end when the dining room began to fill up and which caused service to slow down. The food was WONDERFUL! The wine and drink list shows quality and creativity with several surprise flight options (cordial flight, bitters flight, etc.). Also, mixed drinks. All priced within reason. You can sit inside or outside. Either way you will get a great view of the vineyards and valley."
