Russia HouseHighly RecommendFood, service and atmosphere was excellent. We always dine at Russia House when we're in D. C. This was our third time in 4 years. it was better than I remembered. Elk sausage is a must try. Vodka flight is always fun.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, right sized portions, pleasing ambiance, prompt serivce. Love the borsch and Olivier salad was also delicious. I had a wonderful view on the window to the corner of Florida and Connecticut. My favorite restaurant in DC.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTry it. You'll love it!The food at Russia house is exceptional (even if you don't partake of the vodka or caviar -- both of which are available in amazing quantity and variety). The borsch, blinis (especially the duck and wild mushroom), perogis, heirloom pork, and arctic char are all fantastic. The service is friendly and efficient. The decor could use a face lift, but it's comfortable and clean. We have been there 3 times and will definitely be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat night trying Russiangreat night trying Russian and Russian take on interesting entrees3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service! Was quiet on a Wed night, although bar looked to be getting full when we left. Our waitress was a wonderful young woman, recently moved here from Serbia. She was very friendly and very helpful with the menu. There is an EXTENSIVE vodka menu, she helped us pick 6 for our sampler, to sip throughout the meal. had the blinis to initiate ourselves to caviar - sevruga and red salmon. These are the apps to get to "say" you've eaten caviar, not to really have caviar as an appetizer. Were good, alot of sour cream. The borsch was fantastic. The elk was one of the most tender pieces of meat we'd ever tried, cooked perfectly. Stroganoff was also flavorful. Had the fruit/cheese filled blinis for dessert, just average. Overall great experience.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy this restaurant. We always enjoy this restaurant. This time we tried to make a reservation a few days in advance of a Sat. night. We requested a 6pm reservation and Open Table told us that the only opening was 5pm. We were not excited for that on a Sat night, but we took it because our guests really wanted to eat at this restaurant. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at 5pm. After enjoying our meal, we left around 7:15pm. The restaurant was still less than 50% full. We wondered why we could not get a 6pm reservation.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are from Phila but thisWe are from Phila but this is a restaurant we choose everytime we are i DCI3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThree of us had a wonderfulThree of us had a wonderful dinner. Two ordered elk and the third ordered shashlik. The meat was exceptionally well prepared, as were the vegetables, and everything was beautifully presented. Caviar blinis as appetizers were good, although not outstanding. The waitress was attentive, knowledgable, and very pleasant; she had excellent suggestions for both vodka and wine. The vodka list consists of 120+ different kinds of vodka. The decor is sort of faded Romanov -- lots of red and gilt, but a little past its prime. Don't let the decor stop you; the dinner was really a treat.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and drinkWent to RH to try it out and had a great dinner. The vodka flight (there must be 80) was perfectly chosen (and not a hangover to be found). The shots are large and the presentation beautiful.
The building is interesting, and we were seated downstairs where it was quiet. The other floors were alive - and I and my wife have been looking for for a long time for a lounge with upholstered seating - and this is the place.
The food was all delicious. The Pelmini was to die for, and the blini's - especially the duck - scrumptious.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat birthday dinner. ExcellentGreat birthday dinner. Excellent elk and rabbit. Very good service3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommend...This was our third visit to Russia House and I will tell you, this has to be one of the best experiences someone can have eating out in the DC area. The service is impeccable. Your waiter may leave the dining room for a moment only to reappear with the water pitcher or to take an empty glass away. The wait staff will spend as much time as necessary to go over all of the vodkas on the menu, taking time to point out the nuances in each variety. Everything on the menu is prepared with a velvet glove. Take your time and enjoy the experience that is the Russia House. We absolutely recommend a visit there.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
