  • "We arrived at 5:00 Easter evening, with reservations. It was early, so the dining room had only about 5 tables occupied. This was the best service we've enjoyed at Russells, for those reasons..... quiet, attentive service, relaxing. We may start eating early from now on!!!!"

  • "Once again I had a wonderful meal at Russell's. I started with the crab cakes, which were prepared to perfection. My entreé was the rack of lamb with asparagus and mushroom risotto; the lamb melted in my mouth. For dessert I had the chocolate gateau; delicious! I shared both my appetizer and dessert and left satisfied. The service waitstaff was well informed and helpful in describing the dishes. "

  • "We've looked for a great restaurant in South Snohomish or North King County. There are good places to eat and lots of chain restaurants but not many with excellent food using fresh ingredients. Snohomish County is a vast wasteland so we usually end up in Seattle or Bellevue. Russell's is the one place in this area with great food; food a foodie can appreciate with friendly service. We have visited twice now and both times were extremely impressed. Terrific."

We walked away understanding what all the positive reviews were all about. The food was excellent and the service matched the quality of the food. It's not an inexpensive restaurant, but it is one we would go to again for a special event. The $15 corkage fee (plus free corkage for the first bottle of Washington wine) is a real deal!"

  • "We took our daughter to Russell's for dinner on a Sunday night. Service was impeccable and the food was great. We were so stuffed we ordered one dessert to share just so we could sing Happy Birthday to our girl. They brought the Crème Brule she ordered with Happy Birthday written in chocolate along the edge of the dish and a sweet little candle. Such a nice touch. We don't go to Russell's often because of the distance, but whenever we go we always have a lovely experience."

  • "We have been to Russell's before and have always enjoyed it. Their staff is awesome and the food is pretty darn good too! We started off with the mushroom appetizer, which was wild mushrooms in a reduction sauce. It was wonderful! She had the chicken breast, which was perfectly cooked, and I had the fillet which was perfectly cooked as well. Our server, Dan, was awesome too! We've had the pleasure of being in his section before and asked to be in his section this time. He did not disappoint. Thank you for a wonderful evening!"

  • "We spoke to the restaurant manager stating that our meal was not up to the standards of Russell's. Our party of 7 had several issues: meals were lukewarm, steaks undercooked, halibut was very salty and the sauces on the plates were also salty. One person in our party asked to heat his plate since the plate was lukewarm at best, they lost his steak. Although the waitress did try to track it down (to no avail), she did bring him a new steak. We inquired whether a new chef was in the kitchen but did not receive a straight answer. I hope they resolve this issue, since this was one of our favorite places for steak."

  • "My husband and I love to go to Russell's on Thursdays -- it is Rib-Eye night. Always cooked perfectly and the service is wonderful! My husband had the halibut (on special), and it was great too. Always a nice way to have dinner on Thursdays and roll into a perfect Friday."

  • "It was my husband's birthday and this made is extra special. The restaurant worked with my husband's boss to set up a balloon and gift card upon arrival. It was quiet, warm and inviting. My husband said it was the best steak he'd ever had. The wine was awesome and the staff was very friendly. We'll be back!"

  • "We decided to try Russell's based on a neighbor's recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and service was impeccable. Our server was very patient as our toddler was very active that evening and so it took us awhile to order drinks, apps and main courses, it was much appreciated! We'll definitely be recommending Russell's to others and will definitely be back."

  • "I came for my 78th birthday and had the same server from last year! I remembered Janis and I told her I'd see her next year. The food is so delicious and prepared artfully. We had the card (which I picked up at Molbaks) for a free appetizer and we chose the scallops which were outstanding. I had to have the petit filet and have several more meals which I love. Chose the red cheesecake for dessert and loved the artful designs on the plate so much as I have an art background. Had a nice quiet table and other diners were thoughtfully toned down, even the large group adjacent. Last time I was there, my table was by the bar and there was loud conversation in there which was not pleasant. SO, this year it was much nicer!"

  • "FINALLY we have found a good restaurant that we dont have to drive to seattle for. From the appetizer (which would have fed 4 people) to dessert, it was excellent. The wait staff are fantastic, professional but not stuffy and very attentive. I had the duck breast, sooo good and my husband had the halibut which was pretty pricey at $42 but fresh halibut is expensive no matter where u go it was delicious and perfectly cooked. AND it wasn't noisy. We could actually have a conversation without yelling."

  • "We live in Bothell and have been here several times over the last few years. The food is always excellent (our favorites are the pork chop and the duck breast) and the service is generally welcoming and efficient. The one downside is the noise. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived for our 5 pm reservation, but with the bar at one end and a 90th birthday party at the other, the place managed to be noisy. Overall, the sound level this time wasn't bad, but frequently it gets to the point where you and your dining companion cannot hear each other speak. Some deadening material in the ceiling might help this very good place take things to the next level."

  • "This was our second time at Russell's. Went because we had a gift certificate and had pretty much the same experience as the first time. Dining room is quite loud. Service is sufficient, but nothing special. Food was consistently under-seasoned (and no salt and pepper on the table). The mushroom appetizer just seemed like store-bought mushroom varieties sautéed and then mixed with store-bought beef stock. Duck breast was cooked well but bland. Accompanied by bland risotto and bland veggies. So food was okay if you don't like any seasoning, but otherwise skip this restaurant. Very easy to get an outstanding meal at any number of other places in and around Seattle for the same price (or less)."

  • "We ate at Russell's on Sat., Mar. 1 for my birthday. It was our first time at the restaurant. We arrrived about 30 min before our reservation. We found seats in the small bar area for the wait. Hubby and I had wine and son had a cocktail. The wine (Barrage Cellars Merlot) was delicious and the pour was very generous. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. All the courses were delicious. My son pronounced the NY steak was the best he had ever had. Entrees are pricey, but the portions are very generous. I took half of my filet home for another meal. I would recommend dinner at Russell's for any occasion."

  • "This was our first visit to this restaurant. Our server was pleasant, but just not very good. She spoke way too softly so she was hard to hear (we do not have any hearing problems). She also wasn't very helpful in explaining the menu items. The menu was nice, but delivery not on the mark. Our crab cake appetizer was over-cooked, so much so that the chef apparently put the "burned" side down to cover up the char. As a result, it was rather dry. When we asked about the chocolate sauce on the desert, the server could not provide any info (like homemade, or dark chocolate, or milk, or fudge sauce, etc.). After we asked, she said it's "chocolate sauce." Not very helpful."

  • "We made reservations for 8:00pm and arrived on time to be told we would have a ten minute wait. The restaurant and bar were full so we had to stand in the lobby. We were finally seated with an appology at 8:30. Service was slow and the restaurant was very noisy. The food was very good, but very expensive. I asked the waiter to suggest a wine to go with my order and was told to just get whatever wine I like. We wanted to try this restaurant since it is in the area where we live and is rated as one of the best. I feel I have had meals of equal quality that are less expensive with a view of the water, and probably will not return."

  • "We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation and I had to ask what the delay was. The hostess said there was a large party before us and they were just clearing the tables. This was something I felt she should have told us when we checked in or shortly thereafter. The food was good but not great. Our waitress was great half way through then I think she forgot about us and no one cleared the table of our appitizer/plates until dinner came. We were not asked if we wanted more wine either. The dining area is very open, it's not romatic at all. It was so loud in the dining area it was hard to hear each other and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Sadly we won't be going back."

  • "The food seemed to be inconsisent. The chicken that I had was good - as well as the vegies. The mashed potatoes seemed to be a litte thin. The clam chowder my husband had, was not very good - pretty thin and not big on flavor. The mussels we shared were amazing, probably the best item we had. The ceasar salad was ok and when my husband asked for anchovies, they brought a plate with 3 very small anchovies on it. The service was excellent!"

  • "Was first introduced to this place through a real estate connection I had made, celebratory dinner. Quickly became my most favorite dining establishment in the region. I've been to countless places downtown, paying for countless $200 dinners. Steak is a standard for me at places like this, however, I haven't been able to find a place that beats Russels Fillet. I've searched all over washington, I always go back to Russels for the steak, charcuterie plate, and wine. With an excellent plus: The money you spend at Russels, which isn't very much in comparison for the quality of the food, stretches three courses. I sneak out of the place spending maybe 55$-60$ a person feeling like I got away like a very gluttonous bandit. - Kyle"

  • "We had been to Russells before, but this time the service was very slow. We had two young kids (3 and 6) and our dinner was 2 1/2 hours long. Too long for kids, even though they were troopers for the whole evening. We got there for an early dinner, but it shouldn't have taken this long for dinner."
