The food was out standing and service was great. I would recommend the steak (great quality of meat) and cooked perfect!-Must include the sea scallops as a appetizer, they were out of this world just amazing. Very nice dinner, and fun atmosphere in a old dairy barn. The staff as well were outstanding paying attention to detail always checking back on the table throughout the night. We will be adding this to one of our favorite restaurants and plan to visit again soon.

We always love a dinner here. This time, I tried their surf and turf special--two gigantic shrimp in a lovely light sauce, plus a perfect tenderloin. My friend had the duck breast, which is always moist and crisp and beautifully seasoned. Their portions are generous and the service is attentive without being intrusive.

We had dinner at Russells' on Saturday night with a group of 6 friends at 7:30pm. The restaurant was very busy and full. The service was great - friendly and efficient - all of our orders came out very quickly - which was great we were all hungry! I was surprised how quick the service was given how busy the restaurant was. We had brought a bottle of WA wine with us, and there is no corkage fee, which is much appreciated! We also bought a bottle of wine from the menu, and the wine maker happened to be having a function at the restaurant, so he came by and offered us a taste from another bottle. It was really great. Our server brought us a replacement pour of wine when one of the glasses was accidentally spilt (by us) on the table - we really appreciated it, and it was totally unexpected. Especially seeing as we had ruined the tablecloth! I had the tomato soup, which was rich & delicious. I also had the rack of lamb with mushroom risotto & vegetables, which was an extremely generous portion, I could only eat half of it. Seriously amazing, and well cooked. The entree prices range from low 20s to 50s, so there are definitely affordable options on the lower end. I highly recommend this restaurant, and will 100% be returning.

The food at Russells is artistically presented, the portions were reasonable, and each entree perfectly crafted. The lamb was highly flavorful accompanied by a tasty sauce, mushroom risotto, and a vegetable medley. With the entrees being expensive we planned to skip the side salad, but couldn't pass up the arugula with toasted pecans and goat cheese. The waitress paired a smooth white wine for my husband's duck dinner. You won't be disappointed. We also like the idea of having a first-class restaurant in the Bothell neighborhood.

Russell's has done a pretty good job to make the space look nice but some tinges of office-like space still peek through (unlike Pomegranate that looks like commercial space on the outside but really nice once you step in) and our table was a plastic folding table though it was covered in nice linens. The food was fine but at this price point I can think of a dozen other places I would rather go. Was excited to see the bread pudding on the dessert menu as I had loved the one from Lowell-Hunt but, while decent, was not as good as I'd been hoping for. They did have a children's menu and none of the staff blinked an eye at kids being brought there so that was a plus. Overall, decent but not worth the price/distance for me.

The staff was amazing, especially our waitress Lara. She gave us amazing food suggestions and was constantly checking up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The food is worth it and it the price isn't too bad. But the whole vibe of the restaurant is very romantic and relaxing. It also has a very homey feel to it. My wife and I have decided to make Russell's our place to be on our anniversary for now on especially since they made it a very memorable one. I would highly recommend Russell's to those who are looking for place to eat for their anniversary or those who are just looking for a place to take their significant other on a date.

  • Great scallops, bad filet mignon

    Dined on 11/11/2014
My wife ordered the scallops and they were great. I ordered the filet mignon and presentation was excellent and it was cooked a perfect medium rare as ordered. But, it was the worst tasting, worst textured filet I've ever had at an upscale restaurant. It was not tender at all. Something was wrong with it. I could only eat half of it. Their service was great though and they took the meal off the tab. The waitress said its normally very good and both that and the scallops we're her favorite entrees there. So I probably just got a bad cut, but I doubt I'll ever order the filet there again. Normally the food is outstanding and I will be going again.

The food was great last time I was there, but this time it was ok. Also, the restaurant has become very noisy so it's difficult to talk with others at your table. We went there for a romantic dinner, but it turned into a quiet dinner since we could barely hear each other. We spent most of the time listening to the other conversations in the restaurant since it was so loud.

My husband and I ate at Russell's for his birthday. The food was GREAT! We both had steaks (the filet and the NY) and both were delicious. The dessert (cheesecake) was wonderful as well. Our server was very nice, but she was busy and we sat for quite a while waiting to order drinks and then again waiting to order our dinners. Luckily, our appetizer came out quickly so we weren't starving. The one issue I had was that it was quite cold. I had on a dress with a sweater and tights and was very chilly. Would have preferred it to be several degrees warmer - especially with a $200+ dinner bill. Dress warmly and you'll have a great time!

I had friends in from out of town; we spent the day touring some wineries in Woodinville. I had never been to Russell's before; although the location was rather odd it actually works out quite nicely - less hustle and bustle plus parking is easy to find. I thought the no corkage fee on the first bottle of WA Wine was a nice touch as Russell's is only a few minutes away from Woodinville (WA) Wine Country. All of the food was perfectly prepared and wonderfully delicious. I will definitely add it to my favorites list - thanks Russell's - your all deserve a Super Bowl ring!

Janet was an incredible waitress and host. She made our olive oil spill go from an embarrassment to a fun "find-the-shape" exercise. As my wife is pregnant, we didn't sample the wine but we have vowed to come back with our family to do just that. The salmon was absolutely delicious but my wife found her mashed potatoes just a tad over spiced (they tasted fine to me so this opinion is probably due to her being pregnant).

Nowhere does it state live band & flashing lights!? Supposed to be a steak house, quiet & upscale. Couldn't even hear my husband at our little table of 2. We left...as did most of the diners actually ~9:30pm. Staff - if it was my place I would seriously retrain or rehire. 1 bus boy complained about being there on a Friday night & was as miserable as sin. Noone smiles! Had us wait 20 mins for our reservation. Spoke to the manager - not even an apology. Food was as you should expect. Nothing great, but nothing bad. Disappointed to say the least. Never going back.

My choice of where to go for my birthday dinner... we were craving a great steak... chose Russells over Daniels and El Gaucho because we knew we would always get a good steak and for far less money but equal quality!! Great dinner, Dan our waiter was terrific. On negative, and it always is, there was a party upstairs and at 9 the music started.... It was loud, too loud! Instead of lingering over an after dinner drink and my birthday dessert, we rushed through dessert and left. (as did most everyone else). :(

We appreciated the attentiveness of the wait staff and the food was excellent, except for the seasonal roasted beet salad, which had a few thin slices of beets hidden under a mound of greens. The people next to us raved about the sea scallops, which I intend to have the next time I go. The chocolate caramel tart is fabulously mouth watering. The food is good enough to make it a special occasion restaurant, but the atmosphere is dark and dreary. Hopefully, they can get a lighting designer to help make the place more festive.
