We were visiting Bothel and looking for a great meal. Open Table listed Russell's with good ratings. We made early reservations and away we went. Not easy to find. Located in the back area with no signs on the street. A quick circle led us to the front door. Promptly greeted and seated. Bar area was full of happy, but loud drinkers. Note the bar is partially open to the dining area. Noise in the dining area was somewhat loud. We were immediately greeted by a wonderful waitress. We started out with drinks that were mixed to our taste. Followed by crab cakes to die far. I am use to the flat patties style from Louisiana. These were thick and juicy. Great sauce. Wife had Mussells. She enjoyed them. We completed the meal with salads and lamb.

At Russell's, you can count on top quality, unpretentious food that is well prepared and quality, gracious service. Russell's has become a favorite of ours. They don't go overboard with trendy, odd food preparations like so many better restaurants now do. We like the atmosphere--classy but not at all stuffy, and casual at the same time. You can dress up or down for this place and fit in just fine. I love the sea scallops, but the pork chop is also a winner. One comment is that the spinach salad could use more of the other stated ingredients (almonds, cranberries, pancetta), which are barely discernible, to brighten the flavor and make it more enjoyable. Overall, we are big fans of Russell's and will keep coming back.

We have dined at Russell's a few times before and found the food lacking. Since we often hear people talking about it we thought we would try one more time. We had the halibut and the vegetable Napoleon. The halibut was overdone and dry. The vegetable dish was bland. The charcuterie plate before dinner was good. We thought this meal was the best we had had there but overall we feel all dishes were unremarkable. We won't be making the drive to this out of the way restaurant for average food again.

If you like a great steak, or salmon, halibut, chicken, duck, vegetarian, and you think the only good places for them are in Bellevue or Seattle, think again: Russell's is BETTER than those other restaurants! No traffic, beautiful scenery, great wait-staff, and a larger than average portion compared to Daniel's, Ruth's, Sullivan's or any of the other 5-star restaurants. This is truly the best 5-star restaurant in the Seattle / East Side region.

Fabulous tasting dinner. We had the king salmon and the pork chop. Our waiter thought he was a funny guy, we didn't go there to be entertained by his silly humor. Lovely place, it could have been a warm charming setting except for the wedding that was going on on the second floor. This restaurant is in a remodeled old barn with hardwood floors, the foot steps of the people above was very loud.

Meals were prepared and presented perfectly. The service was attentive but not cloying. Ambiance and decor were tasteful and interesting. I would certainly go again!

We had a horrible experience the first time we tried Russel's, but our friends love it so much, we would give it another try. I'm glad we did. It was a great dining experience. My fish was cooked to perfection probably because Russel himself was on the grill that night. My husband enjoyed the cassoulet and the bread pudding. Our server was cool and very informative. Russell's is a great place to eat in the North End. We especially love the steak filet and any way they prepare scallops. The servers are knowledgeable about the wine list and provide excellent service. The wine list highlights Northwest wines, and does not charge a corkage fee if you bring a bottle of Washington wine. You can stop by after wine tasting in Woodinville, but keep your party at 6 or under on the weekends so you can hear each other.

Went to Russell's mid-week for my wife's birthday and had a very enjoyable evening. The duck breast she ordered was spot on. I had the scallops, which were delicious (although there was a bit of grittiness - maybe a bit of leftover ultrafine sand -- otherwise would have rated 5 stars). Server was delightful and welcoming in every regard. No corkage fee for Washington wines greatly appreciated.Definitely will go there again . . . and may order the scallops once more (with a special request to the kitchen to rinse extra well). Wine list is reasonably priced, so may forego bringing my own bottle next time.

Each time I have been to Russell's the food and service has been outstanding. I typically have the scallops which I love, and my son had the double cut pork chops and they were both cooked to perfection. It's in an obscure location but in a very charming repurposed dairy farm (I think) so it's always fun to go and think about what it was like in years past. I would recommend Russell's to anyone.

We had wanted to get to Russell's on other special occasions but it did not work out. We finally made some reservations and went on a Saturday evening with a party of 5.. We looked on line and found that there is no corking fee charge for the first bottle of wine and only $15 for the second. So we brought our own wine. Russell's was really busy the night we were there but we never felt out of touch with the service. Our waitress checked back with us regularly as we were catching up with our friends and sipping some cocktails. We eventually ordered appetizers' (the meat and cheese plate) and then ordered dinner. We ordered the duck, New York strips, The Filet Mignon and Fettuccini. The food was excellent. Wonderful experience. We'll be back.

Years ago this lovely white dairy barn dominated the landscape east of the 405 near Bothell, and is now tucked into a high tech business park. The restaurant is very noisy with many hard surfaces in the refurbished barn--on the plus side, the noise provides ambiance for private table conversation so parents who wish to bring little ones to this upscale restaurant could relax,. Outstanding, attentive service. Exceptional French Casssoulet. This restaurant is a great find, less than 15 minutes from Woodinville wineries. We enjoyed varietals by the glass, yet noted that Russell's will waive corkage on the first bottle of locally purchased wine in support of their Woodinville winery neighbors.
