we enjoyed our lunch on the overnight package very much...and waitress very amusing and attentive...supplies were a little down on the buffet on the fruit table side, however, the lady on the front desk kept a good watch and had things replaced as needed...enjoyed! Jan

  • We did a 90th birthday dinner
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 3/31/2012
We did a 90th birthday dinner and the ambience was definitely "gemuetlich", that non translateable German word for relaxed/mellow/warm/congenial atmosphere, brought about by skilfull hosting, superb restrained wait staff that appear gracefully when appropriate and then vanish, but also by excellent food and drink. The extensive wine list is also accessible with a broad selection of 0.25 litre glasses - the perfect portion to accompany a one person meal. No rush was sensed and we were surprised how fast the 4 hour celebration slipped by.

The quality of food was good however portion sizes are VERY small, with a limited menu, and expensive. Would not recommend this restaurant unless your staying at the Waterloo Inn and don't want to travel.

The food and service are the reason we keep coming back for birthdays and special occasions. It's always reliable in that the tastes are innovative but not so avande-garde that you feel challenged. Everything is fresh prepared not cookie-cutter restaurant chain sytle. The one weakness is the entrance to the restaurant is way in the back of the hotel and you have to navigate through convention style hallways. It's nothing that anyone can fix and it unfortunately can make a 4 star meal feel like a 3 star experience.

Our server was outstanding and had a great sense of humour. She made great recommendations and prepared a fantastic Ceaser Salad at our table. Michelle was aslo attentive about our time constraints. We were very surprised at empty the restaurant was on a Saturday night, but it was excellent.
