The food was excellent - worth waiting for - but if it could be delivered sooner would put RUSH over the top for a lunch hour destination."

  • "I love the ambiance of this room - open, airy, un-crowded. Unlike many downtown spots, in this one the noise level is terrific for great conversation without having to yell over the din. The service was impeccable - friendly and attentive. And of course the food was lovely. I had the buttermilk chicken salad and the flavour of the chicken was simply amazing. My guest had the ahi tuna salad and it was perfectly cooked. Both portions were - enormous."

  • "Honestly I enjoyed the food even though the server did not order it correctly. My whole group thought the food was very delicious. Our drinks were not great. Our server was very unorganized and brought the wrong drinks all night. He was not very interactive with our table and rude. I will come again but I will make an effort to never have him as a server again. He didn't deserve the tip we generously gave him."

  • "Fantastic service and wonderful meal. Always have great food at this restaurant and enjoyed the makeover. I did notice that the bar is now blocking the windows. I actually liked having the windows to sit in the lounge, so I thought that was an interesting choice for the reno. Overall great place and I am definitely going back :)"

The food was fantastic from appetizer to entrée to dessert. Definitely will be back for another special occasion."

  • "We dined at Rush during Restaurant Week and ordered off of their set dinner menu. We thought it would be a good opportunity to experience their new menu. Unfortunately the food was uninspired and the steak was so difficult to cut that I had visions of it slipping off my plate and sailing across the room. I always thought that Restaurant Week is when the restaurants of Calgary try to showcase the very best they have to offer. If that was the very best of Rush we certainly will be taking our dining dollars elsewhere."

  • "The food was amazing and the server was good until the bill was paid. He did not greet us goodbye or goodnight or say thank you, he walked away. It is very obvious he only wanted the tip money. Tipping 17% does not earn you a simple thank you for dining with us for a party of two. The host was also very weird. My husband tried to take the menu from him so the host would not have to place it down in front of him. The host simply looked at my husband and kept tugging the menu out of his hand instead of using words to indicate that he wanted to place the menu on the table. The server was also like this. I would go for the food, but the service makes it almost not worth it to come back."

  • "I've heard of this restaurant a few times but had never went. I finally went for my Girlfriends B-day and I don't regret it one bit. The food was absolutely amazing. The white chocolate cheesecake was the best I've ever had (I'm not exaggerating). The food is pricey but worth it !!!!!!!!!"

  • "We dined here on March 12 and we planned to order the Big Taste Menu which was a starter, a BLT and a dessert. The very pompous server told us we had to order the Big Taste Menu in advance. Excuse me?? That was never mentioned anywhere on the downtowncalgary website, nor was it mentioned on OpenTable when I made the reservation nor was it on Rush's website. Needless to say, the server caused me embarassment and inconvenience. I think it is ridiculous to make people pre-order this menu. Also, isn't it fairly easy to put together a BLT!? I wonder if the server just made that up so that I would have to order something from the menu - which means a bigger bill and more tips for him. Sadly, the whole meal experience just went south from there."

  • "I booked our evening at Rush a few weeks ago & we looked forward to a great night out. The food was very good & all of the 5 dishes we shared were very tasty. I would have preferred to know the Seafood Cobb Salad was 2 halves of romaine & we had to cut/chop our own lettuce, but the salad was still very good. The first few dishes came out so fast we had to tell the server to slow it down & not order our main until we were ready, but the food coming out fast was the only part that was fast & attentive - the rest of her service was very slow. I don't like having to wait close to 10 minutes to order not only a cocktail but our bottle of wine...it was all reflected in the tip, to which I received a very snarky response."

  • "4 of us were out for dinner Friday night.We were disappointed the last time we were here in November under the old name, but decided to give it a chance, as it was at one time, my favorite spot to go. It was really busy, a noticeable change to the usual half empty dining room, and it had a upbeat friendly vibe. All of the service staff were friendly, and the service was very good.We ordered great wine, appetizers, and main courses, all very good. The high light, and it was a consensus at the table, that the appetizer bacon was exceptional. I know your thinking when is bacon no exceptional, but you haven't had bacon until you have tasted Rush's Bacon appetizer.We will be back for sure."

  • "A mass of servers complete with trained Sommelier's flutter around every table. Making the services at first wicked. Chili Garlic Shrimp - great flavour and large portion. Ahi Tuna Poke with deep fried broken wonton chips - again great flavour. The Lobster Pot Pie - Over the top!!! huge lobster meat claw and tail pieces and creamy sauce. Dessert - Rush Buttercake - YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT!! nuff said Specialty Coffee's - It's dissected.. Coffee and whipped cream comes separate from the sugar rimmed alcohol serving glass.. Smart..Love it Curtis, our server, was very attentive the whole night including heating up the Sake until right after dessert was served. He topped off our Sake and then was called away, from his manage (assumingly)."

  • "Everything was pretty good, but we weren't blown away by the experience. When Rush first opened the food was awesome with some very creative dishes and Chef's tasting menus. They've changed it to become an average meat and seafood restaurant. The food was very good but it was fairly plain, with the meat served with mashed potatoes and vegetables and the fish served with quinoa. I think the quality is good and will be well prepared and consistent, but there won't be anything particularly creative or unusual. That is not necessarily a bad thing, just depends on what kind of experience one is looking for."

  • "Rush has just reopened after renos and a with a new concept, so there are still some kinks to work out in the kitchen. Drinks, appetizers and dinner took much too long to come out. We didn't actually get our entrees until two hours into the night. The Business Manager apologized and was very accomodating, so we will be back but will give it a bit of time. Food was good, but not amazing. Again, we'll see next time."

  • "I have been to Rush a few times over the last year, but this specific visit was for a special person in my life and luckily the restaurant re-opened Feb 1 for the night i had planned for our date. I wanted to pull out all the stops, custom flowers on the table, custom dessert anything i could think of to make this night even more special!! Rush pulled through and accommodated EVERYTHING i asked for and more! Carl i think one of the managers there called me to confirm everything and even dolled out some free champagne for the evening to make it extra special. The food was amazing!!! We had the mussels for our appetizer and they were scrumptious! Myself i had the 6oz Tenderloin and my date the Tuna"
