Rusconi's American KitchenReally good food availableReally good food available at a local shopping center . . great!! I've also heard raves about their wine dinners from friends.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMrusconi's has done it rightRusconi"s dishes out great imaginative food and provides a delightful casual atmosphere with great customer service. The staff is knowledgeable and delightful and interacts just the right amount. The follow up phone call the next day is a nice touch.
A welcome additional to the neighborhood!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSurpassed expectationsWhat a wonderful surprise. Our meal was outstanding from beginning to end. Can't wait to try it again.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service! My wife and I decided to dine at Rusconi's and we absolutely loved it! The food was awesome, the service was great, timing was perfect and ambience was nice! No complaints at all with this place. We even received a call the next day thanking us for coming in and making sure everything was good! We will be going back for dinner again shortly.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at Rusconi'sEverything about this restaurant is wonderful. From the bus-staff to the bustling, open kitchen, the friendly, concerned, eager staff makes the experience so pleasurable, you can't wait to come back. The menu is perfectly varied and modestly priced, The setting is terrific, and if you like sitting at a bar - I don't - the patrons so seated seem overwhelmingly happy. If there is any downside, you go home smelling like mesquite. I love the smell of mesquite!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulGreat waiter, took care of our order. Well timed. Food was delicious.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food selection and presentI am so happy to have discovered Michael Rusconi's restaurant. The menu is exciting, the food is fabulous, and the wait staff is excellent. I plan to introduce as many of my friends as I can to this gem of a restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall fantastic experienceOur first time here, due to AZ Restaurant Week. Could not have had a better meal, all food prepared perfectly and hot. Wait staff friendly, knowledgable, and prompt. Prices reasonable on menu. We live 30 minutes away but will be bringing friends back to this neighborhood gem!!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surpriseWe both enjoyed our meals and will return again soon. Echoing other reviewers, this is a tasty alternative to the chains, unusually located in a strip mall and easy to miss if you're not looking for it.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMichael came to our tableMichael came to our table and spent time talking with us about our experience which was wonderful. We have been several times and will be back.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a gemRusconi's is a gem. Not too large - or small. Staff excellent. Food is delightful and inventive. Wine list is great and drinks are yummy.
I have recommended it it e erroneous one I know.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThis is a gem sandwiched between a sandwich shop and a Panda Express. We arrived at 1pm as most of the lunch crowd was leaving. Our waiter was experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Our food was cooked to order and did not disappoint. When Michael Rusconi left Lon’s it was very disappointing but he is defiantly expanding his menu and serving food his way now. I can’t wait to try Rusconi’s for dinner or Brunch.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA true gem!We are very lucky to have Rusconi's in the neighborhood!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT OVERALL FINDYou wouldn't necessarily look twice at Rusconi's in the strip mall on Tatum and Shea but because a friend had recommended it, we decided to check it out for Restaurant Week. We were not disappointed. Although a little loud inside, it had a nice layout and decor. The menu had many things that sounded good but we stuck to the Restaurant Week menu. Best desert I have had in a long time---the Budoni! Chocolate and caramel and sea salt! Yum! Our waiter was good....nothing to complain about. A very satisfying meal and well worth the trip to strip mall land!~5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA Foodie's Unknown HideawayWe didn't hear about this restaurant until we scouted Restaurant Week locations. We gazed at the menu and thought we'd give it a shot. This place would get passed by most foodie's when you see where it is....tucked between a little pizza shop and a Panda Express. The only thing you see is the sign for the restaurant above the wooden doors, but once you enter you already know this place means business. The beef medallions with polenta, the posole soup, and then finishing off with the salted caramel and dark chocolate budino....it was a delicious voyage through Rusconi's restaurant week menu. Even with doing the Restaurant Week menu, we realized we had to come back to try so many of the other dinner menu offerings. Make sure to GO!!!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA Foodie's Unknown HideawayWe didn't hear about this restaurant until we scouted Restaurant Week locations. Food amazing with great portions and beautiful presentation.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLeave the Mexican Dishes to MexicanMussels were excellent and very good value, while the daily special of pork in green chile was excellent, but should have included a small salad as $14 was steep for the small casserole with a flour tortilla. The posole is not authentic or better than the original in any way. Take it off the menu or create real posole with the trimmings.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day LunchHad lunch at Rusconi's this past Sunday, Mother's day (12 May 2013). Four people and three different entrees. Everything was great and we cleaned our plates. I had the Green Chili Pork Stew which was great and left me full until about 8 PM that night. The spices in this stew were peppery but not fiery.
For desert we tried two of the (they said) house-made ice creams; they were great! Especially the double-chocolate "rascherry" ice cream. I've never seen a "rascherry" before but these were a delicious ingredient for ice cream.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than just a neighborhood gem!I have visited Rusconi's several times since it opened, and have never been disappointed. I have used it for business dinners, as well as just dinners with my wife and friends. Each time the experience has been excellent. The food is consistently excellent, but just as importantly, the service has been prompt and friendly (provided by several different servers over the visits). Rusconi's is an excellent value for the price, with some very unique dishes.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNew favoriteThis was our second trip to this restaurant and it was just as great as the first. The food was wonderful and the service was attentive and not overbearing. Significant wine list and a delicious gin and tonic. Found our new neighborhood favorite!!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe food was unbelievable, well presented. We had the rack of lamb and the grilled salmon, all done to perfection! Definitely returning as this is fine food at its best.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as alwaysChef Michael Rusconi and his crew always aim to please. Fresh product and delicious food with great front of house staff and service. Close to home and it is the best restaurant in the neighborhood of Shea/Tatum.
I have become a fixture in the place!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dinner was very good,Our dinner was very good, it was a bit noisey, we will go back5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food, great service!Fantastic food, great service! My new local favorite.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant surpriseI'd heard nothing but good things about this new neighborhood spot - and they were true. Terrific and knowledgeable server, with good explanations about the unfamiliar dishes. We were a party of 5 for an early lunch mid-week and it was quite full by the time we left.
Short rib sliders were very good - nice rolls and easy to eat!
We'll be trying soon for dinner.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was outstanding andThe food was outstanding and well=priced. They also had many gluten-free selections. I had salmon with a blackberry sauce that was delicious.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfection in our neighborhood!Rusconis never disappoints! The food is excellent, the special feature is always delicious, I dream about the truffle Mac and cheese! The service is always top knotch! Well trained staff who remember you and the coordination and timing is always spot on!
Thank you, Michael, once again for a delightful evening!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant called usThis restaurant called us the very next day to ask about our dining experience, which is quite rare these days. It shows that they really care about their customers. We will certainly return and will recommend Rusconi's to friends.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMContinuing pleasure at Rusconi'sWe have gone to Rusconi's many times and it is a place you can go with friends, eat good food, and be treated well. I eat mostly a Atkins like diet and do wish they had more options in that area, but what they have is very good. My wife tried the osso buco for the first time and liked it a ton. A friend tried the ravioli--which is a deconstructed ravioli with squash--and liked it too. I thought the ravioli was an imaginative take on what is usually a tired menu afterthought. My mom had the roasted chicken and thought it was excellent. Good food, service, and a comfortable place to eat it in; what's not to like?4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI look forward to anotherI look forward to another visit to try the salmon. I had the seabass and it was great!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at Rusconi'sThis chef would have a following wherever he might be....great evening4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood way better than the serviceThankfully, the food was really good because the service was not. It took us over 20 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order and that was only after we asked three different people to help us. The waiter was frazzled but the chef did come out and apologize. The food was really good (salmon, lamb, steak). Not a bad choice with the four entrees. We ordered dessert and were brought one that was wrong with no explanation. When we inquired we were told that the one we ordered was not available. Fortunately, they didn't charge us for it. When we got the bill, we were a little surprised that nothing was done for all of the issues. We'll give it one more try since the food was so good.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe very much enjoyed the foodWe very much enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Problem: Like so many trendy restaurants now, it was extremely LOUD! Since we are in the age group over 60, people's hearing begins to deteriorate and we find ourselves shouting at the top of our lungs to the people seated 2 feet from us. It is exhausting and takes away from the enjoyment of the meal with everyone constantly asking, "What?" and having to repeat oneself 2 or 3 times. Pretty soon, you just stop talking. We find ourselves choosing restaurants like Coups de Tartes, L'Amore and BLT Steakhouse to go for a quiet meal more and more. A heads up to all the trendy, in, now restauranteurs: If I want to eat someplace noisy, I'll eat at Costco. Carpet would help.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visitWe got the scallops and the buffalo sirloin. Two good dishes with sauces that did not over power main course. The starter plate of charcuterie was a good way to start the meal. For the quality and top not service this is a good place to check out.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed a very nice dinnerEnjoyed a very nice dinner in this small restaurant. Food was prepared nicely and Service was attentive. Overall a nice evening out.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved Rusconis! The onlyWe loved Rusconis! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the front door makes it look as though it is closed/underconstruction and also one of our meals was just OK.
There were three of us and we started with the pork belly/polenta: TO DIE FOR. Also the artichoke dip was delicious. My husband's flat iron steak/truffled mac/cheese was phenomenal, so was my pork Osso Bucco. My mouth was in heaven. Our friends "Kitchen" burger was OK...nothing to write home about.
We will most DEFINITELY be back! This place is awesome!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMRusconi's American Grill hasRusconi's American Grill has become my favorite restaurant in Phoenix. There is no greater value in the desert than this restaurant - the quality of the food, the level of service and the overall ambiance of the restaurant is way higher than one would expect at the prices they charge. Ask for the Green Chili Stew that's not on the menu - it's a great shared appetizer or a delicious entree when you're sitting at the bar watching the D'backs!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went during happy hourWe went during happy hour (4-6) and sat in the bar. We both ordered a couple appetizers and were very satisfied. My friend loved her chopped salad and mussels, which I tasted, and although not a mussel fan, loved the flavors. I ordered the pork belly with vanilla infused grits and poblano glaze. I requested the glaze on the side and was glad I did, because the flavors stood alone, and the glaze, although tasty, was a bit on the sweet side. I also ordered the shortrib sliders, but after tasting the pork belly, I wanted more (it's very tiny!) and ordered another, then gave the sliders to my friend to take home.
I am still thinking of the pork belly. That alone will pull me back. Great friendly service and very enjoyable experience.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMsolid new American, greatsolid new American, great proteins, great veggies.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch as wellBeen for dinner, which was great. Went back for brunch a few weeks later. Best quality food in the area, seems busy at dinner. Brunch on the weekend was empty. Everyone is missing out, quality of food carries over to Brunch menu. Short rib Benedict with green chili holland aisle says it all.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've enjoyed a number ofWe've enjoyed a number of lunches and dinners at Rusconi's since they've opened. Each one was delicious. It's a homey place with upscale food and reasonable prices.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my third visit toThis was my third visit to Rusconi's and it was as good as the first. Wonderfully varied menu and specials. Service has improved in the last couple of months and the waiter's are very personable, involved but not intrusive.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed Rusconi's. OurWe enjoyed Rusconi's. Our meal was delicious. Menu seems a bit limited but everything we ordered was very good. We will return.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first dinner here butOur first dinner here but very impressed. The cauliflower soup is superb! We did a rack of lamb, buffalo steak and a pork osso bucco. All were well prepared, served at the appropriate temp and tasty as all get out.
We have done lunch here twice and are very pleased to recommend this place. Michael is superb chef!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this restaurant. GreatLove this restaurant. The service is great. I you want the best of the best, John is the best! Try tuaconis if you haven't yet, you will NOT be disappointed!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden GemAwesome food! Terrific staff. Don't let the location in a non-descrip strip mall fool you. The food here is top-notch.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOh the Lamb Chops! This was my second visit and as with the first well worth while. The food is top notch and oh the lamb chops are the best. Nice atmosphere and good service - they also don't rush you through the dinner and will lay back if you're relaxing and catching up. One suggestion - please tell the waiters that it is inappropriate to try to remove someone's dinner plate if the other person is still eating.
Will go back again and definitely recommend. Many thanks.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
