Diner Reviews
  • "Rusconis had been recommended to me by a few acquaintances, I was mostly pleased with the service, though we were rushed at the end of our meal. The food was mostly well prepared, the buffalo sirloin is a welcome menu item but the bread pudding side dish which sounded great on the menu, was delivered dry and over done, chicken was tasty and moist but the macaroni side was watery. We skipped the uninspired dessert completely, nothing seasonal nor fresh offered there. I don't know why otherwise nice restaurants place tables within clear view of the bathroom door, this doesn't compliment any meal. I would recommend Rusconi's for casual patio dining, entrees are good, side dishes not so. "

  • "The menu had a nice variety of choices. Our server was excellent. Helped with choosing an acceptable wine and made sure our dinner was prepared the way we wanted it. Would recommend."

  • "Our server was helpful, friendly and led us in the right direction. We loved the mussels, tuna appetizer, buffalo and everything else we devoured. Great wine and inviting atmosphere. We'll be back."

  • "Excellent menu, best mac and cheese I have ever had, the beef products and overall flavors of the dishes are outstanding at a very fair price point....The atmosphere is a cool combo of wine cafe and downtown phoenix trendy..."

  • "Had been here for happy hour during the week. It was a very pleasant experience. Nice and engaging bar tender. Decided to try for Sunday brunch (I'm social director for a few friends). Small parking lot patio...quiet on Sunday. Service was pleasant...nothing engaging..but he did the job. Food was good...pricey for what it was. An omelet with crab, shrimp, spinach and tomatoes $14. Due to the many locally owned brunches we've enjoyed...not my favorite...but certainly not bad. I wil go back to try another meal in the future"

  • "We go often. The food is always amazing! Try the Mac & Cheese or the asparagus appetizer as well as the fresh fish special or the Salmon:) Salads out of this world! The Amish is my favorite."

  • "We went early because we had an appointment following dinner. Our server Bobby was excellent in telling us about the food and wine specials. One of our dishes was not properly prepared and he scooped it up and returned it to the kitchen. The chef himself delivered it when it was done to our satisfaction. When you right a wrong immediately it is greatly appreciated. The rest of the food and wine and service were excellent We would return again."

  • "We dine out at least three times per week and this is by far our favorite restaurant. Michael's command of the kitchen and food plates are always outstanding. We have been dining here this it's inception and are pleased that we now have to make a reservation in order to dine, because others have caught on to this amazing spot. We always request to sit in Matt's station because of his superior wine/food knowledge and impeccable customer service. ~Lori and Richard"

  • "With two small children, we don't get the chance to go out much with our friends. However, when we do we love going to Rusconi's and every couple that we've taken there - they LOVE it! It's refreshing to have a local, high quality restaurant on the corner of Tatum and Shea. Great spot for a work lunch, quick happy hour and also an evening out. Totally recommend Rusconi's!"

  • "We have gone to Rusconi's for happy hour on a number of occasions and really enjoy it. Dave, the bartender, is great! We recently went for the brunch and it was terrific. We will definitely be returning. The brunch menu is wonderful. This is a great place for eats and drinks."

  • "We were in town for both Spring Training and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We choose this place by chance. At first thought, it looked way too small and not what we had in mind, but once inside, you see just how big the restaurant is. The food was excellent, and our waiter was just as good. He knew the menu inside and out, and what wine we may like the best, based on OUR likes, not the restaurants. If your looking for something nice, but not outlandish, this just might be your place. We'd have no problem going back."

  • "Food is great with good side dishes. Wine list is just ok and needs to be updated. We asked for two different bottles of wine and they were out of the vintage year indicated on the menu. It was our first time to Rusconi's and we will definitely return."

  • "Heard about the restaurant through word of mouth. Walking up to the front you think this is going to be very small. Once inside you'll find it's much larger than it first appears. The decor is modern, eclectic and most of all comfortable. The food was excellent and the service was spot on. Our server was attentive and not intrusive. He was there when we needed him and he had a great personality and made us feel as if we were regualrs coming since they opened not first timer. Even as we departed the staff was gracious and made you feel welcome even while leaving. I'm definitely looking forward to trying their brunch in the very near future."

  • "My husband and I were visiting and essentially plan trips around dining experiences. This one did not disappoint. All of the other reviews I had read about being a hidden gem in a strip mall were completely true. Delicious, perfectly prepared food and great service. I highly recommend! The prickly pear braised red cabbage is a must."

  • "We had a fantastic time at Rusconis. Food was excellent, wine was incredible and our service really made the night. At the top of my list for favourite restaurants anywhere."

  • "The food is excellent. The Posole soup was very flavorful and served at the appropriate temperature. The salads were solid. We had the half chicken, beef medallions, salmon, and osso bucco (and a side of brussels sprouts). We finished our meal sharing the bread pudding ala mod. Again, very good. The service was also very good. The bar tender suggested a bottle of wine that was not one of the more expensive wines on the list - leading me to believe it would be a solid wine and it was. This was our first time dining at Rusconi's and we were very pleased with the overall experience. The location is not great (strip mall); however, I suspect it is how they are able to deliver amazing meals at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be back."

  • "Rusconi's is a nice find. It's a neighbourhood type bistro with a relatively small but well-executed menu of "American Bistro" food items. The quality of the food is very good, with good presentation and very good service. The wine list is small but well-chosen and reasonably priced. The decor is comfortable but you have to overlook the strip mall location. Overall, it's a quality neighborhood restaurant that invites many return visits with its good value and very good food."

  • "Rusconi's seems to put interesting things together to make outstanding dishes. Chef Michael Rusconi (a very nice guy) has the touch to mix your meat, veggies and starch into something wonderful. The salmon is exctraordinary, mussels excellently prepared and the seafood dtew is great. What's not to like! Make a reservation and ask for the back room where it's a little more quiet."

  • "I look for opportunities to go to Rusconi's because the food, service and experience are that good. This visit was with 3 business associates. We all had different entrees and each was magnificient. Our server, Hannah, was delightful and knowledgeable. To me, this is a "can't miss" restaurant!"

  • "Located in a strip mall, this was a great surprise. The atmosphere was friendly and fun. The wait staff was friendly and very helpful. There were groups of 6-8 as well as couples there; everyone having a good time. I loved the duck and baby spinach salad -- I would go back just to have that again. The sautéed sea scallops dish was terrific, although I don't like anything spicy, so I got the chipotle sauce on the side. They came over a bed of cauliflower puree that was fabulous -- so creamy. We split the bread pudding, which as served warm over a vanilla sauce. It was quite good, but a little rich. I live in Los Angeles, but would love to come back to try some of their other dishes (and get that duck salad again!)"

  • "The place obviously has made it. It was hopping and the kitchen was operating at full steam. Our soup, beet salad and entrees were outstanding. My wife had the nightly special of sea bass with red pepper spaetzle. She felt it was the best dish she had eaten in a restaurant in quite some time. That's saying a lot. My scallops were wonderful and the cauliflower puree was the best. I wish I could make it that way. We won't wait months to return again."

  • "I'd heard about the place for a long time and finally went. What a lovely surprise! The restaurant is next to one of the idiotic my Big Fat Greek places and looks like a store-front. Once inside you realize that it's quite large. Lots of vibrant life. The service was excellent. The wine list good and reasonably priced. The food is the star here. Loved everything I had. The porkbelly & sausage appetizer was delish, the sea scallops out of this world. Inventive and very satisfying food. A+"

  • "We had read many of the other positive reviews about Busconi's prior to making a reservation for a first-time visit, and expected a fine dining experience - it exceeded our expectations in every respect! The food was fresh, superbly prepared and presented, the ambience was great - a background buzz but you could still carry on a conversation in a full restaurant on a Wednesday night! We are discriminating diners that know what we want in a dining experience, and Busconi's did not disappoint. Our dinner was a highlight of our week's visit to Scottsdale. We will return to Busconi's again and again in future visits to this area. Our sincere compliments and many thanks to Chef Busconi!!"

  • "We have dined at Rusconis several times in the last few months and have never been disappointed. We happened upon it when we were in the area, but now are willing to drive 40 minutes to eat here! The menu is updated and interesting, the ambiance is upscale casual, and the staff has been very friendly and responsive every time we've been there. Love it!"

  • "Had a really great night at Rusoni's. Food was so good and the menu was not the same old, same old. We tried the salad with blue cheese and pear, mussels and the pork osso bucco. It was all very good but we forgot to save room for dessert - maybe next time?"
