Rumours EastAn enjoyable mealAlthough the menu was limited, the food was fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. We dined indoors; the atmosphere was conducive to conversation. Our waiter was nice but inexperienced; he didn't know the wines at all.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good but value is an issueWent on a Wednesday and there was a nice writer's night, which also made it quite difficult to talk over dinner.
Food quality and presentation was very good. We dine at nicer restaurants and are used to entrees not being large.
My flank steak with chickpea socca(?) was very well prepared and cooked to a nice medium, but probably not something I will remember a year from now. My wife got the scallops with peppers. She said they were very good also but had no other comment, besides that for $26, three scallops with no significant sides felt inadequate. Lowering the price or tweaking the sides would
Have helped us feel less wary of returning. Service was ok, but a little late in refilling waters and checking on us. They were busy for mid week?6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMElegent, classy, bohemian.Elegent, classy, bohemian. I would not rave about the food—rather than taking all the attention, with the atmosphere it made the whole evening beautiful.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptionally good mealI had the lamb chops, which were perfect, and came with an ample portion of a cold concoction of green lentils, kale, and I don't know what else. But it was one of the best vegetable accompaniments I've ever put in my mouth! The food really was outstanding. I'd say the menu was quite limited, and there were only a couple of main dishes that appealed to me, but the one I picked was a real winner. The place is a little Bohemian, and the young host and waitstaff were friendly, but not very polished, which was fine with me, but the service didn't quite rise to the level of the food.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent wine and foodGreat food prepared perfectly and nice selection of wines. The food choices are somewhat limited, but what they make is great.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGot the mussels appetizerGot the mussels appetizer and they were the best I have had in years! I wish I would have just ordered that. I was very impressed, however, the linguine entree was very disappointing. While the pasta was homemade, it was stuck together and not cooked properly and the pasta sauce was very spicy which there was no indication it would be such on the menu. I would go there again but not ever get pasta.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and the service was great. Friendly staff and pleasant ambiance4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMRumours East is a gem! TheRumours East is a gem! The food was fantastic, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere is delightful. A Must-try!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe server was delightfulThe server was delightful and the vibe of the place vibrant and welcoming. The appetizer trio that each at our table ordered was disappointing. I wish we had ordered from the dinner menu. Many of the appetizers such as the sheep cheese and quince jam were too skimpy to get an idea of how it was supposed to taste.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRUMOURS EASTOur first time there. We thought the food was very good and we took advantage of some good specials. However, the overall menu is somewhat overpriced, we thought, especially for the area.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
