A word from Rumi's Kitchen
Welcome to Rumi’s Kitchen! The premier Sandy Springs location for Persian Cuisine. Owner and Head Chef Ali Mesghali’s unique and flavorful touch has been wowing patrons for over 20 years. His previous restaurant, Persepolis, was a Sandy Springs favorite.

Rumi’s Kitchen draws influence from the culinary mother of the Middle East, Persia, which spanned from the banks of the Nile River in the west to the mountains of Northern India in the east, and from the shores of the Caspian Sea in the north to the deserts of Arabia in the south of the Persian Gulf.

The food is consistently delicious. Big portions that are great to share. I always get the orange rice and its amazing. When ordering, factor in the fact that the restaurant will give you bread, cheese, olives, and herbs.

This restaurant has tables so close to one another that the waiter servicing the next table had his butt in my wife's face. The noise level was so loud that our table conversation had to be repeated constantly in order to be heard. Once the waiter took our wine order, and poured the first glass it was up to us to keep our glasses full The same with the water. When our main courses came they were plopped down on our bread plates and our appetizer, without regard for our space or presentation. Although the food was wonderful, I would have to think twice before returning here.

Celebrated anniversary dinner last Monday evening. We dined at 5:00 due to an evening commitment and we had the restaurant to ourselves! Our server was prompt, friendly, and professional. We started with drinks and the hummus appetizer, which was served with fresh from the oven, warm pita bread. For drinks, I ordered the Spice Mist. It had a "kick" to it as it had homemade jalapeño syrup in it- very tasty! My husband ordered the roasted salmon; I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Both entrees were delicious! I believe their sea bass is the best in all of Atlanta! tender, sweet, and cooked perfectly. Huge portions included lentil and raisin basmati rice. Rumi's serves consistently excellent food- a great Sandy Springs location. Thanks Rumi's!

This restaurant is packed with people who congregate at a bar that is next to you while you eat. It is so loud you can hardly hear the people at your table talk. We started with the falafel and smoked eggplant. The falafel were so spiced, you could not taste the wonderful flavor that true falafel usually have. The smoked eggplant was good. My husband had lamb which he thought was alright. I had chicken kibedeh, which was very dry and overcooked. The rice with lentils and raisins were flavorful. We did not bother with dessert as the noise was ridiculously annoying. With all the Persian food on that street, this place is not worth going back.

We took a group of friends who had never been before and everyone loved it. The waiter patiently helped each new guest order rice that would compliment their entree selection. The food was great, everyone enjoyed the atmosphere, and we were applauded for our restaurant suggestion.

This was my second time eating at Rumi's. My first was for business and this was personal. Of course I had bragged about how much I enjoyed it and created quite an expectation for my fiancé. Rumi's did not disappoint! We both love Persian food and this is some of the best! The service by Matt was also exceptional! My only regret was that we forgot our leftovers on the table. What a disappointment to get home 45 minutes away to find we had left them. We will be back!

We have been to Rumi's several times, and have enjoyed it, but not this time. The noise level is that of a sports bar. When we arrived, we were taken to a table that was in the middle of a waiter walk-way. We told the hostess that we did not wish to sit there, but wanted another table. She did not want to give us another table and made it difficult to change, so we surrendered. Several times a waiter walking by had to perform gymnastics so as not to hit me. A customer walking by reached over our table to wave at a friend. When the appetizer arrived, it was plunked down. We asked to be moved, but 15 minutes later we were still there. We got up and walked out before our dinner arrived. The valet thought he was a Nascar driver.

I'm not sure how Rumi's Kitchen does it, but they can handle an insanely packed crowd on a Saturday night and not make you feel rushed as you have your meal. I had a 7:45pm reservation for myself and a friend. It took 10 minutes for a table to be ready for us. During the wait, we were able to quickly get something from the bar despite that it, too, was packed to the gills. We were tended to quickly at our table, and the meal was great. I've been here a few times now, and I've had nothing but good experiences. Kudos!

The food and service at Rumi's are fantastic. Our favorites are the lamb shank and chicken barb, but everything is great. The only problem is the noise level. It would be wonderful if they could ad something to reduce the noise level so you could have a conversation.

Having lived in Iran I thought the food was close to authentic with a modern twist. The bread was yummy but it wasn't the authentic bread we use to buy off the streets. Shish kebobs were tender and divine. My guest are still talking about the lamb! Fantastic. Will be back.

We dined on Saturday night and enjoyed the food very much. The service was very good except for the wine service. The person who brought the wine to our table dripped a substantial amount of wine on the table as well as on one of the diner's menus, did not say anything, then walked away. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the Hummus appetizer and the lamb kabobs. We were seated in the rear section and the temperature was much warmer than the main part of the restaurant; it was actually quite hot. I will go again, but definately ask to be seated in the main part of the dining room.

My friends and I were looking for a restaurant to eat dinner at on our way to Lakewood Ampitheater. Rumi's is convienently located right off of the 400 in Sandy Springs. It was perfect. We ordered their chicken and lamb, watermelon salad with yogurt dressing and grape leaves. All served with fresh pita bread and feta cheese. After dinner and a bottle of Mimi Chardaney we were back on the road in plenty of time to make the concert.

I've been frequenting Rumi's for quite some time and have always had wonderful dining experiences. However, the most recent visit last week, we were fairly disappointed in the quality of the meal. We ordered the filet kabobs (as usual) and was presented with what I would describe as a very poor cut of beef...it was extremely tough and chewy. I conveyed my disappointment to the staff and they did offer to remake my dinner. Unfortunately, we were in a time crunch and was unable to accept their remedy. Albeit, they did comp a couple of drinks. Outside of the quality of the meat, we still did enjoy the ambience and service. This is just feedback to management.

A fantastic place to take friends and visitors to introduce them to a menu that is different; although exotic, it is easy on the palate for people that may not be into ethnic food. You can always find something that they will love!! They welcome you with a plate of hot pita bread, walnuts, cheese, fresh mint, etc... The service is outstanding and cordial. Their custom-made sodas are great, specially the mango one. I always have dessert. My favorite is the one with 3 exciting flavors of ice cream (one of them is figs) which even after a full meal, I can always eat. Just make sure you make reservations.
