A word from Rumi's Kitchen
Welcome to Rumi’s Kitchen! The premier Sandy Springs location for Persian Cuisine. Owner and Head Chef Ali Mesghali’s unique and flavorful touch has been wowing patrons for over 20 years. His previous restaurant, Persepolis, was a Sandy Springs favorite.

Rumi’s Kitchen draws influence from the culinary mother of the Middle East, Persia, which spanned from the banks of the Nile River in the west to the mountains of Northern India in the east, and from the shores of the Caspian Sea in the north to the deserts of Arabia in the south of the Persian Gulf.

The best Iranian restaurant I have been to. Food is very fresh and tasty. The appetizer sampler is a good introduction if you have never been there - but it's not on the menu, you just ask the waiter. The vibe is energetic and vibrant but not for intimate settings - so here comes my only complaint - it's just too noisy, my friends and I had to yell to converse...

If you are in the mood for something a little out of the ordinary, this is the place! Excellent Persian cuisine and outstanding service! I have taken friends here in the past, and they are always impressed. The service is impeccable, and the varied menu offers something for everyone's tastes. Ingredients are fresh, and the preparation is very tasty. Even if you think you might not like Persian cuisine, you should give this place a try---you will be glad you did!

My friend and I love Rumi but our experience was not pleasant at this time. Our waitress was rude and rushed us to finish our dinner and leave the restaurant. She even did not bother to lit the candle for us. We asked for sparkling water and it did not have any bubbles. The only good thing in our dinner was the food!

Rumi's Kitchen is full of flavor, delicious food presented well. The staff from hostess to server to cleanup, to parking attendant all make me feel welcome and attend to every detail. My "if only" is about the noise level. If only I could have a conversation with the person next to me without having to shout, I would be a regular customer. As it stands now, I either go before six or after nine o'clock in the evening. That timing rarely fits for me so it is a long time between visits.

A highly hyped up place. Went to try with family. Way too noisy..open kitchen, cutlery , cooking and what not ...makes people end up talking loud to converse with their folks at the table. Service - courteous but orders wrongly put in. We were talking amongst ourselves on trying lamb vs chicken kabobs, the waiter brings both!! Made an assumption we want both...duh! Brings a 2nd round of drink without even ordering!! A cheap trick I guess to put you in a delicate spot to just accept it. Someone else's order was brought in, we said it's not ours!! And finally the food was so bland...not enough seasoning in kabobs , period. Lamb kabobs were so hard that it made us feel like we are chewing rubber. Not THE place for Persian.

I love this place. Food, drink, decor, ambiance--all exceptional! My only complaint (and it's a particularly irritating one for me) is that the hostess insisted that our party of 4 all be present before being seated for a 630 reservation. I dislike this practice in upscale restaurants. It conveys a mistrust of the customer and establishes an unnecessary negative energy. In my long time experience few open table restaurants practice this old school (in case you were wondering our friends arrived inside of 5 minutes and still on time for a 630 res).

Rumi's is our go to restaurant when we have family in from out of town. Plenty of food and a variety to satisfy all - meat and non meat eaters. Salmon with whatever variety of rice is always good and the lamb/chicken or beef kabobs are a great share item. As we had a birthday and too full for dessert, Rumi's treated us with baklava. Never had any better than theirs!

This restaurant has tables so close to one another that the waiter servicing the next table had his butt in my wife's face. The noise level was so loud that our table conversation had to be repeated constantly in order to be heard. Once the waiter took our wine order, and poured the first glass it was up to us to keep our glasses full The same with the water. When our main courses came they were plopped down on our bread plates and our appetizer, without regard for our space or presentation. Although the food was wonderful, I would have to think twice before returning here.

Celebrated anniversary dinner last Monday evening. We dined at 5:00 due to an evening commitment and we had the restaurant to ourselves! Our server was prompt, friendly, and professional. We started with drinks and the hummus appetizer, which was served with fresh from the oven, warm pita bread. For drinks, I ordered the Spice Mist. It had a "kick" to it as it had homemade jalapeño syrup in it- very tasty! My husband ordered the roasted salmon; I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Both entrees were delicious! I believe their sea bass is the best in all of Atlanta! tender, sweet, and cooked perfectly. Huge portions included lentil and raisin basmati rice. Rumi's serves consistently excellent food- a great Sandy Springs location. Thanks Rumi's!

This restaurant is packed with people who congregate at a bar that is next to you while you eat. It is so loud you can hardly hear the people at your table talk. We started with the falafel and smoked eggplant. The falafel were so spiced, you could not taste the wonderful flavor that true falafel usually have. The smoked eggplant was good. My husband had lamb which he thought was alright. I had chicken kibedeh, which was very dry and overcooked. The rice with lentils and raisins were flavorful. We did not bother with dessert as the noise was ridiculously annoying. With all the Persian food on that street, this place is not worth going back.
