  • "Food for as wonderful. This was a special occasion and first time visit to Rugby. We were sat on what appeared to be a hallway converted to extra dining space. This would've been OK if the corridor had also be closed off to accommodate diners. However it remained a very busy corridor with a wedding party bustling through with awful perfumes, colognes, noisy children and a loud DJ. No one from the Rugby staff even attempted to manage the noise level or ask those of us seated in the area, if we were bothered. For the cost, I would not go back or recommend. There are other restaurants in the area with superb food, service and better ambience."

The check was "thrown" on our table, we received no refills of water or coffee and when my friend asked to take home the other half if her sandwich, the sandwich was perfunctorily placed in a black styrofoam container without being placed in a bag! It will definitely be awhile before I return to the Rugby Grille."

Our waitress was inexperienced, and we were asked three times in about 10 minutes if we had picked out a bottle of wine yet. We were sat by a table of six very loud patrons, and had to ask to be moved to a quieter table. Food is good, but wasn't worth $350!"

  • "We've been going here forever for pre Christmas lunches with dear friends over the years. We switch it up with other up scale restaurants from time to time. This will be the last time we choose this restaurant. Service was on par with any non upscale restaurant..just the servers are dressed nicer. At $17 for a hamburger at lunch time, I would have expected something better. I ordered it medium rare, of course, it came well done. Need I say more? Lovely room the Grille, but, there are better choices out there."

Pleasant ambiance (at least the service attendant in our section did not seem to know that he should not want to clear the table of the flatware and all after finishing the 1st and 2nd course out of a 4-course meal). Interesting choices per course. Very manageable food quantity by course. Well prepared and delightful flavors. Nice wine pairings. All in all a nice experience. Restaurant will be on the short list for next year's holiday."

The main dining room had a large table in the middle set up with about 10 guests which amplified the volume dramatically to their festive gathering, which was not what we expected from this restaurant but, it was not impossible to adjust to. The hallway seating was too breezy for us. The inner dining room was cozy but our table sat on the opposite side of the hostess table and our honored guest felt like she was being looked at by everyone who entered the restaurant and the curtains would not close, offering us privacy. Even with all of this, we still enjoyed the elegant dinner and left happy."
