This place never disappoints. Stop by Rue 57 and make it one of your must visits in New York. Lively and enjoyable. Order raw oysters, truffle fries, onion soup and good wine by the glass. Casual and welcoming.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food with stellar serviceOur server, Trinity, was thoroughly knowledgeable on the menu and was super-attentive. Again good food, decent service, fair pricing - enough said. You can't go wrong6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMRue 57 - French food and more!We visited on Friday evening (5/31) for dinner. The restaurant has a very French ambiance, reminded us of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris. The French Onion Soup is amazing, one of the best I ever tasted. Steak au Poivre was cooked exactly to order and very tender. Skirt steak was also done beautifully with a lovely sauce. There are reasonably priced wines to accompany your meal here. Fantastic service from waiter Chris, who did a wonderful job and offered good suggestions. A beautiful restaurant - even though French, they offer a wide variety of choices including Sushi that many of the locals around us were enjoying. Go for the food, enjoy the fine cuisine and excellent service.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMNever failsA creative and varied menu is always presented beautifully and never fails to satisfy5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this place...The whole experience is reliably good. I love when the weather is good that you can opt to sit outside. It is really like a good French Bistro.

The menu has something for everyone, and the service meets the expectations of even the most difficult NYC patrons. I don't often write reviews, but we so much enjoyed Rue 57 that I had to write.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOasis on 57thRue 57 solves the question - where to eat? Consistently excellent food and service. If you like French Toast, there may not be any better. Definitely a must in NYC! Thanks again Rue 57!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely brunchWe had a lovely brunch here on a Sunday morning. Other diners in my group were very happy with the Brasserie Benedict and the Hangver Breakfast, but my lobster hash had only 2 tiny pieces of lobster in. I appreciate that it was only about $20 so wasn't going to be full of it, but I expected a little more than I received. Needless to say, the service was great and we had a lovely brunch. Make sure you book for the weekends5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific MealThis is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve dined at Rue 57, and I’ve never been disappointed. I’m not a foodie, so I can’t say much about the type of cuisine, however, everything I’ve had has been nicely prepared, meats cooked exactly as ordered, and the presentation is attractive without being fussy. Pricing is in line with the other fine restaurants in the New York City, with Rue 57 being moderate, rather than most expensive.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoyableRue is always busy at lunch, but I've always found the food to be worth it. Make a reservation if you don't want to wait!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall Great ExperienceI took my Mom here for a special dinner before a Broadway show. Everyone from the hostess who sat us at a great table to the server who was friendly and helpful to the attentive table bussers offered fantastic service. The food and specialty cocktails were delicious with nice presentation. Overall, this restaurant blew me away and exceeded my expectations! I will go back.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to its Name -a true BistroThe idea was to find a pre-concert Carnegie Hall neighbourhood resto which would not take long, but would have good food. The Rue 57 proved a good choice on all points. Our waitstaff was outstanding and understood the relative haste with which we must deal, while at the same time delineating the specials and taste treats that were at hand. She orchestrated the whole event very well.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent LunchOur waiter must have been between Broadway shows - he was that entertaining. The food was excellent.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday celebrationThis restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and although the food was very good, the service excellent I found it to be a little too noisy, seemed like there were two different music tracks on at the same time. We had had a long day, seen a show then had the meal so maybe we were just a little too tired!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent all the way aroundExcellent all the way around (but expect to pay New York prices).5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner; Amazing WaiterWe dined here on Thursday night and had one of the best waiters we have ever had.....Steven. The food and service were great, and the overall night was great!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMStill good as everHave been to Rue 57 almost every trip to NYC. Ambience is great, the food great, and very good service. The Fench Onion soup was wonderful, and the Kobe meat loaf was unique and a wonderful treat on a cool, damp evening. Will definitely return next visit to NYC4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFfour friends in NYC (comingFfour friends in NYC (coming in from CT, GA, SC) for a fun ladies' weekend had the very best time, drinks, and food here. We've been here before and returned just because it's always great. Our waiter, Akil, was fantastic! The Sea Bas was truly excellent.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with my two collegeI went with my two college age sons. I have been there before - service is very good - not outstanding - but attentive. Food was excellent. Had the scallops - so did one of my sons - we both thought one of best prepared and tasting scallop dinners we have had. My other son had a pasta disk - also very good. Caesar Salads also very good. Desserts we very good as well. We asked for the bar tender to make up a special drink for us after describing it and he hit it on the mark. As I said I have been there before and would go back again. A bit noisy.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMNice decor. Very good food.Nice decor. Very good food. Great location. The music, while comfortable volume and excellent music, did not fit the atmosphere of the restaurant.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLunched with a friend. WeLunched with a friend. We were both very happy with our choices! A bit expensive, but a nice experience.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAt first, sounded like anAt first, sounded like an oxymoron--a Paris Brasserie with Sushi!! But for me, the sushi was just a small area away from the main, bustling Brasserie part of the restaurant. Quite noisy (as are the true Paris Brasseries) but true to form. Having lived in Paris for many years, I found the food to be comparable to some of the best Parisian ones. The service was excellent, delivery was prompt but not too rushed. Good wine list as well. Overall quite pricey, but certainly worth the visit.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat French BrasserieI always love Rue 57 for a casual fun dinner. The place is always hopping and the food is always delicious. I am big fan of the Pom Frites with Au Poivre sauce. Fattening but good.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile the menu was quite limited,While the menu was quite limited, my friends and I all ordered the Sea Bass which we agreed is the best Sea Bass we've had in the city. The wait staff was very attentive and the deserts were large and filling and quite tasty. The noise level was high and the sidewalk dining was open which led to more noise from the street. It was a fun environment.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch! We were seated very quickly because of our reservation. The service was great and the food was yummy!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMRue 57 is one of our favoriteRue 57 is one of our favorite Restaraunts in the city. Perfect for groups of friends or families or first dates even. It's vibrant, lively crowd is perfect for large groups, girl's night, guy's night, but it's also lots of fun for couples (as long as they're not looking for a romantic quiet evening). Love the window seats for people watching. Sushi is very good and fresh. The Miso glazed chilean sea bass is the most delicious dish. Great drinks too!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat except WAY too noisy.Great except WAY too noisy. And table was cramped.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMReally fun. Great attentionReally fun. Great attention from smart waiter. Only issue a little noisy but full of life, nice low lighting for night. Definitely will go each time I return to NYC for a few days.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good variety of optionsReally good variety of options on the menu and the food is consistently good. It gets a little crowded but otherwise it's a good lunch option in midtown.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy Rue 57. TheWe always enjoy Rue 57. The seating is very tight. Our table for the second time in a row was right on top of the party next to us. The food is good not great and the service is above average. Price point is fair and portions are nice size.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was great! TheThis place was great! The service in particular was unbelievable. We were seated immediately and our waitress happily answered all of our many questions regarding menu items. She was able to give us an input on everything and really guided us to having a wonderful dining experience.
The food here was absolutely delicious as well. The salmon home fries is to die for. Also, portion sizes were food-coma worthy and a great deal for the price.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
