This is the second time here for brunch and it's great. The service was attentive and the food was excellent. There is a great selection of items for brunch. I would make a reservation as this place is packed on Sundays.

Perfect place for lunch in NYC. Great energy, great waitstaff, great food. The highlight was the French onion soup. Would definitely go back, the menu is french-Asian with lots of variety.

Bad service and all the little things not done right. Pre dinner Bread was cold and burned. Requested new bread. Waitress brought back new bread and sarcasticly said “I hope this one is GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU". Burger bun was not toasted. When we ask why the burger bun is cold. They said they don't toast their bun unless Is requested. Com'on man, even Red Robin toast their bun. First burger I ever had with cold bun. And this is Manhattan! The Food arrived cold. Water never refilled. Waitress checked with us once during the whole dinner. But she checks on 8 top next to us every 2 min, but never brother to check with us when she was just standing right next to us. Then after we paid, the waitress actually grabbed the bill fold and checked her tip before we left. Which is new to us. We never been to a restaurant that the waiter/tress grabs the credit card bill fold right in front of us.

Great for French bistro type food with a really nice selection of sushi and sashemi! Enjoyed the spicy tuna on crispy rice which was excellent. We chose it because it was different and were glad we did. We also had oysters on the half shell, mussels dijonnaise with pommes frites, and dover sole. The mussels and sole were well prepared and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. It does get crowded and noisier as the dinner hour progresses which is typical of NYC. Will return.

The hostesses need to be a little more warm to their patrons... didn't care for the way they received and welcomed me and my wife... it was as if they took their clients for granted... however our waiter more than made up for the lack of warmth. We only ordered sushi and sake and it was pretty good for a french restaurant. Not the best but definitely well prepared. We ended up coming to this restaurant twice for the sushi alone. I am not sure how their french cuisine stacks up. You need to read comments from other reviewers...

You would never expect extraordinary southern fried chicken at a Midtown brasserie, however it has become a Monday night tradition when friends are in town. Kinetic setting and seasonal ambiance, Rue 57 fits nicely in the neighborhood. Service needs to improve. Wait staff generally interested.

Hostess was rude. Waited 30 min for table for which we had a reservation. Waiter disappeared. Even when told we had a show to go to, service was slow. Service was so bad, I thought I was really in Paris. Never again. Foods good, but it's not worth the aggravation.

Was going to a show at carneige hall and was looking for somewhere in the area to eat. What a find! Great atmosphere, great location, great food! A wide selection on the menu and everything that we watched come out looks amazing. We didn't have room for dessert but will have to come back to try it because they all looked good - ores benignets? Yes please! Will definitely be back!

We've eaten here before, and I usually greatly enjoy my meals. The food was good but the server was not very attentive. He never came to see how our meal was, and only to take our order and then give us the check (never offering a dessert menu or refill on drinks). We had to catch him once for a missing item on a plate, and other parts of the order were incorrect but we just left it. We also had a table near the front of the restaurant, which meant adults and kids waiting for tables were hovering while we ate. Overall I like this restaurant, but this wasn't the best experience I've had here.

Went for brunch this time. My wife and I both had the onion soup which we agreed is the best in NY. After that we split a cheeseburger which was good, but not really worth the $24.00 they charge. As usual, the place was packed, but in spite of that the service was excellent.

We went there for lunch and made reservations....glad I did, the place is packed on weekends on Saturday and Sunday. We were seated right away and the server was very attentive. She made great specialty recommendations. The food is great and the portions are huge. Sandwiches and breakfast dishes were great. I would highly recommend for a great midtown brunch and meeting place for friends.

Rue 57 is an imitation of a French "brasserie". Although we had a reservation and arrived early we had to wait about 15 minutes to go to our table. Our appetizers were quite good, the onion soup in particular but the main dishes uneven. The orange duck, which was the specialty of the day, seemed reheated and was barely warm when it arrived on the table. The salmon and mussels were OK. as were desserts (creme brulee and profiteroles). The place was very crowded and noisy, the service friendly but slow. The cheapest bottle of wine was $60 and the final price came to more than $90 per person: expensive for what we had.

We used to love this place. I was disappointed when the "seater" refused to seat us at a table by the window after I called previously requesting a seat by the window if available for our reserved part of 4. After lying and saying that that table opens up for a party of 6 within 10 minutes we see another party of 4 sitting there. I complained to our lovely waitress and later complained to the supposed female manager of the maitre d's with no satisfaction. All she could say was "sorry". I do hope that Rue 57 hires a professional staff. We can absolutely find another brunch spot to enjoy rather than having our meal ruined because of dissatisfaction from the front door help.

If I wasn't there on business I would have walked out. Food was just like Times Square - beyond marginal and expensive for low quality. So sad that this place has become a loud trash hole with inexperienced staff. We asked for assistance and that was a bigger joke than the food and overall experience.

Rue 57 is nice, except the noise level during mealtimes is terrible. If you need to have a business meeting, or want something quiet-don't go during "rush hours"! You won't be able to hear anyone at your table. I went specifically for a business meeting and told them ahead of time I wanted something quiet, and instead we were seated near a family with children. It was very disappointing as the restaurant is very convenient to my office and I transact a lot of business.

Every time my daughter and I make our NYC journey we always eat brunch and dinner at Rue 57. I have tried several of the brunch items and have found all to be delicious. The Eggs Florentine and the French Toast are my two favorites but you could determine your own. For dinner there is only one choice for me...the Chilean sea bass. I have read that many customers found the service to be lacking in attitude and we too have experienced this. This time our brunch waitress was so friendly but the dinner waiter was as cold as ice. However since the food is why I am there I would definitely return.
