  • "Rue 32 was truly outstanding. The flavors were robust and the service was excellent. My wife and I enjoyed everything about our meal. If and when we return to southern Pines we will eat here again."

  • "Staff great and menu great! Food very bland (salt on table!?) The choices on the menu were excellent but none of the 5 dishes we ordered were anything to write home about."

  • "Always enjoy the tapas experience at Rue 32. 2 couples shared 7 selections with Bahn Mi and Cubanos Locos being the highlights. A few of the dishes could have been a bit hotter otherwise a fine evening of dining. Friendly and efficient service. Check it out for a change of pace!"

  • "I have been to Rue 32 before and enjoyed it very much. The food is very good. Unfortunately, there was one server for entire restaurant trying her best to cover both the restaurant and bar. The kitchen was trying to keep up with orders for about 25 people but also had one person. Our last dish was served nearly two hours after we arrived. Another person (the owner?) was trying to help. The best way to help would be to maintain a reasonable staff. I won't be going back."

  • "I was looking forward to some good variety, but unfortunately, several of the dishes ended up using the same sauces / noodles even though they were from different menu categories. The crab cake was almost chewy / gummy and not very good. Several dishes used the same smokey pepper sauce, so they ended up tasting the same, which isn't the best when you're getting a variety of dishes to try different flavors. The staff was nice and friendly, but the food was underwhelming."

  • "Wonderful dinner after a day at US Open...so glad I checked out Open Table!"
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Nice layout, food B-/C, service(?) clearly provided by an untrained do not want to be server. Apparently owner/manager forgot the US Opens and the bar and wine cellar were damn near empty. Not the impression we had hoped our guests would take away. Really a disappointment."

  • "The portions are designed to be shared enabling us to sample multiple food options all of which were quite good"

  • "We moved down from the DC area and really missed our neighborhood "spots". Then we found this one...the food is great (and with small plates we always change up what we order). The staff is wonderful and attentive; they always make us feel welcome. The outdoor dining is on a back deck with flowers/trees, quiet and intimate. We strongly recommend this for couples as well as friends who want to sit back, socialize, and share a great meal. It's our favorite in So Pines. Strongly recommend: mushroom gnocchi, spring rolls, any of the Indian dishes, the shrimp and grits, and especially the scallops!"

  • "A super restaurant in any city and particularly in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. Great ambience. Excellent and interesting choices on the menu. Good wine list. Fine service, Super food."

  • "We shared appetizers and entrees with our friends. The food was wonderful, and the wine I chose was a hit with our meal. I'll be back! "

  • "Made special request through Open Table reservation and the request was filled. Service was enthusiastic and attentive and the menu offers something for everyone. The restaurant was quiet midweek and we felt we almost had it to ourselves. We enjoyed the atmosphere and wide array of menu options with many that can be made gluten-free. The wine list was equally as interesting and they offer half glasses and flights allowing the diner to try different pairings. If you like a more energetic vibe go towards the end of the week when cocktails are half off Thursday night. "

  • "We were from out of town. I wanted to have a quiet evening with my wife on her birthday. The food was fantastically prepared!! The ambience was nice. Very one on one spot...check it out"

  • "Honestly the service at this restaurant was really extraordinary and I think the food was interesting. I had a tasty whitefish and my husband absolutely loved the gnocchi. The portions were relatively small and the prices seemed a bit on the high side for the amount we received BUT i can't say enough about the staff though- they were extremely attentive, we got right in and it was nice to sit on the patio and hang out."

  • "The good options are very unique and I loved the concept of sharing several different options! The salad was very good as well as the gnocchi! The brownie desert was also amazing!"

  • "Food was decent, nice little spot, has a lot of potential, but it's not quite there yet. Not enticing enough to go back."

  • "My husband and I had dinner here for Valentines and it was amazing! Service was great, food was out of this world & the ambience was perfect for a romantic dinner. I had the NY Strip, Sautéed asparagus & whipped potatoes. All of which was perfect. Everything had amazing flavor & melted in my mouth. My husband had the mahi mahi w/ a crab claw cluster which he commented as being, "superb!" We loved everything about our meal and definitely will be returning!"

  • "After two visits to Rue 32, we'll probably be back, but we're also still looking for a better option in the area. The food was pretty good, but not earth-shatteringly good. With the bill hovering around $100 for my wife and I, I honestly expected just a bit higher quality. I felt that my fish was slightly underseasoned and overcooked. The food combinations are interesting, but it's nothing that you couldn't do at home. The service was very good on both visits (with two different servers) and the first server seemed to remember us from our previous visit which was nice. The bottled beer slection is also quite good, but it's pretty heavy on the IPAs (apparently, the chef likes his IPA)."

  • "As I understand it this place is known for tapas, my wife and I went for a special occasions and they did a special 4 course menu. The appetizers were excellent but beyond that nothing was exciting or even close to exceptional. The salad was over dressed, entrée came out cold and way over cooked and the desert was exceptionally sweet. We will give it another try for the wine/beer selection as well as the promise of the tapas menu but if it were based on this alone night alone I would not got back or recommend it."

  • "This was our second time to this restaurant, and dinner this time. Different menus. The service was lovely both times. The dinner menu is designed for small plate sharing, but one can also order an entree size if sharing is not desired. Also, the portions even of the small size is generous, not like some tapas restaurants. There were 2 of us tonight, and each had one small dish for ourselves and one to share, due to dietary constraints, and we had more than enough food. The gnocchi and the scallops were fantastic. The indian dish was very good, but cannot compare to a full indian restaurant, but it came close. Pricing is quite reasonable. We will definitely return again."

  • "This was our second visit to Rue 32. We fell in love with it on our very first visit for lunch. We had to come back and try the dinner scene. We were't disappointed!!!! The quality of food, the variety of entree's, along with the fine service has place it number one on our recommended eating establishments in the area. The menu offer's "small plate" entree's from all over the world and each one is prepared and served beautifully. We love this place and we'll return again and again."

  • "The ambiance was very trendy, food was great. We got the sharing portions (tapas). Food came out on a timely manner and prices are reasonable."

  • "We enjoyed a delicious, beautifully prepared meal! The service was excellent; not rushed, and our waitress was very helpful in assisting us in making choices from the most varied menu I have ever seen. Great drinks too! Highly recommend!"

  • "While I wouldn't say this was in my top 5 list, I would say I had a very good meal here. We shared several dishes and there was one standout, the mushroom gnocchi. Really good, full of flavor, and fortunately we had it last because it was fabulous. I will admit I am pickier than most people and can appreciate the variety on the menu. There should be something for everybody and our server was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions, which I loved. I would definitely go back to try some other items. Bread was really good. Overall a really good experience."

  • "The varied menu always has me scratching my head, but variety is the spice of life and it's fun to try new things. I'm glad I did! I did notice that the wine list has many choices and the prices are very reasonable. We had a central CA coast zinfandel that was outstanding. The Blueberry cheesecake was just the right note to end on, wonderful."

  • "First visit. I took a female friend here for a romantic dinner. The manager/owner was very accommodating. We were seated next to the fireplace in the main room just as my guest wanted. We enjoyed the wine selected and the entrée, particularly the Beef Wellington. The best part of the evening was the dessert selection - the crème brûlée trio. Worth the one hour drive. Definitely will return."

  • "Rue 32 was as good as I had heard! My friends are always bragging on the food and service here and now I know I understand why. I had a balsamic pear and gorgonzola pizza that was the kind of stuff foodies dreams about. My husband had the beef Wellington. He also enjoyed his dinner. We will definitely be back and bring our friends."

  • "The nature of this restaurant's menu allows you to explore a variety of different types of food cultures without committing yourself to that particular culture for the entire meal. Appetizer portions at fantastic prices mean that you can choose a number of items from an impressive collection of dishes and share among others at your table to get a taste of everything. Drinks are also really well done, and I really like that you can walk in, have a great meal, have a great drink or three, and walk out without having to take out a second mortgage."

  • "My wife and I each ordered Scallops (It was a Friday Nite). We had them prepared differently, but in each case they were exquisitely done. Lightly browned, very tender, and perfectly seasoned. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommended establishment for anyone seeking something out of the ordinary."

  • "The menu is all over the map--literally, there are meals available from recipes from around the world which is unusual and nice. The food was good and we shared plates which was the intent of the evening. They were short stocked on the first two wines we selected and I started to become a little concerned...they came through with an '11 Rombauer Zinfandel that was delicious. The service was prompt and the people professional and courteous. The owners were visible and interested to know how things were going. All in all--a nice night and a good find in Southern Pines."

  • "The owners of Rue 32 are always welcoming, and seem genuinely pleased to see you walk through the door. This is a nice intimate restaurant with and interesting menu. The food is divided by country so there is a little something for each persons taste. They also offer most items in small plate size so it's great for sharing and tasting several things in one evening. Wonderful bar area separate from the dining room, where the cocktails are always flowing."

  • "This was our first visit to Rue 32 but it won't be our last! I loved the wide variety of choices. Everything we tried was great! The atmosphere was relaxed but elegant, the same can be said for the food. Nothing snooty, but you can see and taste the care that goes into the dishes."

  • "The whole experience was wonderful. Don't be in a hurry, good food is made to order not made in advance and the food here is fresh!! We love the way the menu is laid out there is much variety here so you can satisfy many different desires. Loved the Bacon Salad. We will return soon."

  • "Rue 32 is off the betten path in Souuthern Pines, but definitively worth looking for. They call it a small plates restaurant, but the portions were very generous. Different selections from around the globe make this the perfect choose for everyone."

  • "While holding a three day sales meeting at Pinehurst I brought a group of 21 to Rue 32 and it couldn't have worked out better. The side room was arranged perfectly, the menu lends itself to group dining with a great array of choices and plate sizes at reasonable prices and the staff was exceptional."

  • "We were in Pinhurst celebrating my husbands birthday! He picked this restaurant! Service was great, met the owners, who were delightful! Food was innovative, servings were a perfect size. I highly reccommend the curry dishes! Yum!! Beautiful, relaxing interior! Charming accents down to the cool placemats and tableware! Would go back in a heartbeat!"

  • "This was our first visit and our group of 8 enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July and a birthday with a wonderful selection of tapas style entrees. There is something for everyone with selections from several different countries. We tried a little of everything, but the gnocchi, beef tips, and shrimp and grits were our favorite! A close second were the spring rolls and the banh mi. The only disappointment was the two different types of creme brulee we had for dessert, which had very little taste, however, the mocha cheesecake was wonderful. The restaurant has a very intimate atmosphere and is decorated superbly! We definitely will return to enjoy another meal!"
