Rick6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing foodThoroughly enjoyed dining at Rue 127! The food was amazing and so was the service. We had the bone marrow and butter lettuce salad for appetizers, the half roasted chicken and the porkchop for our entrees and the deep-fried confetti cupcakes for our dessert. Everything was outstanding and the deep-fried cupcakes were to die for! I am also a die-hard mac n'cheese fan and the one that came with the chicken was one of the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone - such a hidden gem among a lot of other big-name restaurants in New Orleans!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad we tried itBar selection is extensive with an imaginative bar tender. Very romantic interior. Service was good and they honored our reservation time without making us wait. Food was interesting, good, and a good value. Don't miss the deep fried cupcakes! Will definitely go again.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AM5 star dining in mid cityThis was my second visit to Rue 127. Both visits have been excellant. The service is perfect and the food was spot on. My first visit I had a rabbit pot pie which was flavorful and loaded with rabbit meat. The other night I had the duck which was cooked perfectly. My wife had scallops that were in a reduced cream sauce..I cannot say enough good about this gem. The wine by the glass gives a good pour as do the mixed drinks.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMRue 127 was greatSmall little place tucked into set of other places. Had a wonderful lunch. For visitors to New Orleans a quick ride (well at least a ride) on the Canal Street Streetcar will take you to this little hidden gem. Although all the meals in our party of four were exceptional including starters and desert DO NOT MISS THE TUNA ENTREE. Had a 7:30 reservation on a Friday night and were promptly seated. Since we were a party of two were given the option of sitting in a two top right by the hostess station in the main dining room. It was not a bad location. We had drinks and it was one of the best Cosmopolitans I have had. For appetizers I had the Potato and Leek soup which was velvety smooth and incredibly delicious, my husband had the mussels with pomme frittes that could have been a meal in itself. For entrees I had the special of lobster pasta which again was delicious a perfect portion. My husband had the double cut pork chop very good. Desserts were also great. The Smore dessert was beyond words -the Pecan Pie was also fantastic.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThey were running a lobsterThey were running a lobster appetizer that may have been the best thing I've had in this type of restaurant in the last three years. I'm a regular at other neighborhood restaurants but now I have a new place to enjoy. Each dish is unique in its flavor and presentation. The duck was amazing! The portion size as well as the side choices that were included were my favorties. I like a menu that is specific such as this one. It makes it so much easier to decide what I'm going to eat and it reveals the creativity of the kitchen. The restarunt is the perfic setting for me. It's cozy, not rushed, and relaxing.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit and we're hooked.First visit and we're hooked. Food was super. The double porkchop was grilled to perfection. My wife had the scallops: three nice sized scallops prepared to perfection.
The appetizers were out of the ordinary for South LA. The spaghetti with little neck clams came in a delightful light creamy garlic cheese sauce. The sweetbreads with risotto were perfectly presented and delightful to the palatte.
A bit pricy for every day dinning-- the meal with one glass of house wine came to $94.00 plus tip. But great for a night out.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was pleasing to the eyesFood was pleasing to the eyes and to the taste. The variety of dishes offered was very good.
