Food was just ok, little disappointing to be honest. Looks amazing on the menu but the flavors just don't come through. The smaller cheaper (or free) things we ate were the best. Rolls, Pork Bun, and Chicken Skins were very good. The deep fried cupcakes and cocktails were also really really good. Service was good, a little inattentive, but nice and with strong knowledge of the menu and helpful suggestions. But the sweetbreads risotto and our duck main dish were both disappointing, neither bad, but without the flavor that we were expecting.

My buddy of 25 years and I dined at your restaurant this past Wednesday. Food was amazing. The house chard was not too good - so I went ahead and went for the bottle. Much better! She had the filet - i had the rabbit pot pie - very very good! We opted for cheeseboard and fried olives. But then - we got fried cupcakes for dessert - holy cow!!!!!!!!!! The salted caramel dipping sauce was just well now words but (Monica holding up 7 fingers and eyes closed with head back) kinda good. You'll know what I am talking about if you loved watching Friends. Anyway - this restaurant is awesome!

Take the trolley up Canal St to this little gem. With only a dozen tables situated in what looks to be someone's old house, the ambiance could be described as intimate or cramped. With that being said, there is little else to fault about this understated establishment. Beautiful flavor pairings with perfectly prepared cocktails guide you through a relaxing evening in a quiet little place. Be sure to try the generous pork chop and one of the "Saintly" cocktails. And, as an added treat if you're seated in the main room, you can watch the chefs prepare your food through the glass window into the kitchen. If you are in NOLA to eat exceptional food, don't pass over this place.

The restaurant is small and attractive.Unfortunately during our entire meal a very loud lady completely dominated the room making conversation at our table difficult.During much of the time she was in a very loud conversation with a man who appeared to be the owner/chef.In such a small place they should do something to control such people. The noise level of the rest of the room was not high,so shouting was not necessary.because the restaurant was so good we will go back, but will hope for a little more policing of loud patrons.

Rue 127 is located outside of the busy tourist area and is frequented by locals and some visitors. The entrance goes into a small bar section and the restaurant is after that. The kitchen is open and at the far end of the main dining area. The menu is diverse, taking advantage of Louisiana offerings and recent harvests. The dishes have obviously be carefully considered and perfectly pair meat, fowl or fish dish with a sauce, vegetable and garnish. The wine list is small but nice with an interesting variety incl. some Greek wines. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. Great place to eat, also for foodies, and highly recommended.

My wife and I had a great intimate dinner at Rue 21. The barkeep kept me notified of the football scores and made excellent cocktails. The fried okra was amazing. Portions were good sized. Not too big, but enough to fill you up. My wife's favorite was the desserts. They were well presented and delicious. The atmosphere is great. We could see the chef preparing food through the glass window near our table. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend it for a date night!

The only issue with this place was my initial impression. We arrived 20 minutes early to have a drink before dinner, but there was no bartender behind the bar or hostess at the hostess station. We sat at a bar table and were ignored for 10 minutes, seated and ignored for another 5 minutes. Got my first drink about 20 minutes after arrival. Other than that it was excellent.

Wednesday night, so it wasn't crowded. Very quiet and comfortable, in spite of wood floors, tall ceilings, etc. Food was very good, but my filet was tough and not as tender as a filet should be. However, all tasted very good. This won't stop me from going back, but next time I'll order differently.

We ordered off the NOLA Restaurant Week menu while two of our party ordered cocktails, which hadn't arrived by the time the appetizers came. After several inquiries, the waitress realized she hadn't submitted the drink order to the bar. The food was good but not outstanding. The desserts were probably the best part of the meal. We'll probably go back there sometime.

We'd heard and read many good things about the restaurant and they all proved to be true. It's small with some quirky characteristics mostly owing to the space layout. The wait staff is energetic, enthusiastic, and helpful. Menu choices are interesting and reasonably priced for the value received. The wine list contains interesting, well-chosen selections at fair prices.

Rue 127 is always good and reliable. Would like to have had a slightly more generous pour of wine each time, but all in all, it remains one of our very favorite spots in New Orleans. And Open Table is a smart way to book this restaurant. They ALWAYS call back to confirm your reservation - not all restaurants do that. Very nice feel to the place.

We had not been to Rue 127 for several months so wanted to go back. They have made what is basically a hallway into a space for tables. They seated us there but it was very claustrophobic. We asked to be moved and they did so after checking availability. The food was as wonderful as ever, however the service was not the most professional. There was no bartender on duty so the drinks were evidently made by the waitress and were OK but not great. It took 20-30 minutes to get our drinks. Overall I feel it was not as great an experience as we have had there, but the food is just as good.

I am a salmon fan. The salmon special was amazing. The beans and bacon broth added so much to an already delicious perfectly cooked salmon filet. My date's duck was beautifully cooked, tender and flavorful. Both the gumbo and the mushroom soup was complex and savory. And the blueberry cake the perfect ending to a home run meal.

This restaurant is a small treasure - emphasis on the word "small." There aren't many tables, and the noise level can get pretty intrusive when the restaurant is full. But the food is good enough to put up with much worse than this. My husband had mushroom soup - heavy on the mushrooms, not heavy on the cream. It was wonderful. I had the salmon entree. They use an "au jus" so the salmon stays moist. My husband loved his pork chop. (but mine was better.)

The food was wonderful, and all courses were equally well-received. Staff was friendly, and helpful. The Bill was incorrect, and then when resubmitted, was wrong again. Once we straightened that out, the night ended well. The place was clean, the place was cheerful. At the table next to us, some family had a kid who was out of control (read: Loud) and that kid should have been harnessed. Other than that - Bliss.
