My name is Rodolfo (Rudy) Amadio and, as new owner/manager, I hope to be welcoming you soon; I will be delighted to meet you in person if you visit. Maybe some of you already know me. My wife and I have been in the restaurant business in the Charlotte area for over 20 years, initially with the… first wood fired brick pizza oven in the Charlotte area (Luisa's Pizzeria), currently with "Dolce Ristorante Italiano" (Dilworth area) and now with the brand new "Rudy's". The concept at Rudy's will be that of a neighborhood Italian restaurant, with a casual atmosphere, friendly prices for food and bar and very, very good food. For now is "arrivederci" and I sincerely hope you will come visit us soon and become a delighted patron.Continued

"It was a busy Saturday night and a large group was seated next to us. They were so loud that we could hardly hear each other talk most of the time. Service was slower than the last 2 times I've visited Rudy's, also on a Saturday night. My dinner companions had the clam linguine dinner special with 2 different sauces and enjoyed them. My linguine d'mare had many fewer mussels, clams, and shrimp than the last time I had it, but the sauce was delicious. If you want a place to talk, this is not it. If you want good Italian food, it's one of the best in Charlotte."

"Appetizer (calamari) was bland and rubbery. The meat tortellini in Alfredo sauce tasted like a Michelina's microwave lunch. The price was exorbitant for the poor quality."

"Rudy's is unassuming, located in a neighborhood strip mall. The ambiance once you walk in is also fairly standard and the limited menu may be a concern. But don't let it be. The food is outstanding, the wine list is top notch, and the owner (Rudy) will remember you and graciously thank you for coming in. This is a favorite spot for my husband and I - I love the Frutti for Mare and he loves the Bucatini Amatriciana. The calamari and mushroom appetizers are also delicious."

"Was interested in finding something new in the area and while the ambiance was decent the food was somewhat bland and didnt really match the overall cost of the meal. Overall it truly doesnt seem to have that italian feel that you would typically expect and I would say this would be much more suitable in the $10-$15 per plate range."

"Strip mall outside -- albeit a nice strip mall -- but really nice inside. Fine service and a very enjoyable meal with my wife and daughter. We had the stuffed mushroom appetizer (awesome), the shrimp linguine (I loved it) and the veal scallopini (I liked it but might try something else next time). The Italian style cheesecake was also delicious with a fine cup of coffee. The only hitch was a kitchen substitution of spinach for ratatouille on the veal, which put spinach on every course since the mushrooms were stuffed with it and the linguine included it. But I like spinach, so it went fine."

"valentine's day, really busy yet the service was awesome. food was great, a couple's menu plus an al a carte list. going back next date night for the regular menu. appetizer was really good. flowers were on the table just as i had ordered. very nice experience."
