  • "This is our go to restaurant for calamari, clam chowder with, lobster or prime rib depending on our dining mood. Great local restaurant with great service. We keep coming back over the years and have never had a bad meal."

  • "I have been wanting to try out Rudy's ever since I moved back here to the Sacramento area a few years ago. Our visit was totally unplanned and a spur of the moment decision as the idea of your Thursday lobster special was mentioned by one of my friends. The food was terrific and the service was incredible! I can't say enough about what a great time we had and how impressed we are with Rudy's Hideway! See you again soon!"

  • "Rudy's does not look like much from the outside, but the inside was GREAT! Nice, comfortable, good service and good food. Our group of 8 met for lunch and everyone was happy with their meal. We loved this place and plan to go back some time very soon."

  • "Nice high end menu w surf & turf Crowd was very local and very senior - I think I was the youngest patron in the restaurant by a full generation. Portions were appropriately small (I don't like stuffing myself)."

  • "The service was excellent. Waitress always smiling. Nice place for leisure eating. Air conditioning blowing on us, waitress helped move us to a more suitable table Seemed delighted to make us comfortable. Good excellent. Meat and veggies cooked perfect."

  • "We were a group of four. I had the lobster tail and baked potato. It was very good. The other three ordered the prime rib. All were very happy with it, and after a taste I agreed. Very flavorful. We will visit again soon."

  • "My son had the NY Steak which was flavorless and over cooked. The Filet Mignon was good however whatever fish was on top was horrible. The hamburger was good however the bun was way too big for the burger. We had asked the waiter if the restaurant had a signature drink and he stated no...really?? The waiter must have been new as he was just so so. When you are paying $30.00 a plate per meal you want exceptional service."

  • "LOVE the artwork - many Tomas pieces, beautiful! Svc quick & friendly. Waiter at table within 2 mins of sitting down, soup immed after we ordered. Bit of a wait for entrees, was a Fri night & busy. Only neg cmt - he walked by table with hubby's empty glass on corner 3 or 4 times, didn't offer fresh drinks until he brought entrees. Food exactly as expected. We both had rib eye dinner with clam chowder to start. Chowder was delish - thick & tasty with bacon mixed in, plenty of potatoes & claims. Lobster was fine, cooked right. Steak was tender and cooked as I ordered it - medium rare. Garlic mashed potatoes were divine. Good wine list, nice choice of varietals and price points We'll definitely be back, maybe for a birthday dinner."

  • "The lobster was excellent. Our waiter was very courteous and attentive. Nice dinner for our son's 46th birthday. Rudy's is a must dine for us on our trips back to Sacramento since we retired."

  • "I had lobster ravioli which was quite good. My daughter had a lobster roll which was also good. My wife had salmon, which was a bit overcooked and tasteless."

  • "What a great restaurant! We've been coming to Rudy's for many years and it has remained the same great place. Service is great! Food is excellent! We ALWAYS have lobster...tender and delicious. We've started using "Open Table" for reservations and that has worked out perfect!"

  • "Went here for a special occassion. First time trying it. Looked a bit dated on the outside, but much nicer inside. Then, shocked at how delicious the food was. server was awesome, presentation as expected, and taste was great. Will definitely come back time and again. Already have plans to bring family back to show them. Then, asking around, turns out several friends have gone in the past. Was a good reminder for them. Too bad its not closer to us, we would go more often...."

  • "We took my son and his girlfriend out here while visiting from out of town. The waitress seemed very impatient and when she filled your water each time she would say "thank you" before you even had time to open your mouth. She was not the worst part - the food was AWFUL! My husband and I ordered the seafood platter and I kid you not frozen fish sticks would have been better! The entire plate consisted of heavily battered and greasy fried shrimp, cod, scallops, and popcorn shrimp. I got mashed potatoes which were COLD and tasteless and my husband got a baked potato that was also cold. It was late and had been driving all day and did not feel complaining would help the situation so we enjoyed the company and WILL NEVER go back!"

  • "We've eaten at Rudy's many times in the last and every time it didn't disappoint. The service is top notch and the food is delicious there is a limited menu but sure to please each diner with a delightful appetizer, entree and dessert. The cocktail was outstanding, made to my exact specifications."

  • "We'd never eaten at Rudy's, but I knew Jim loved lobster and I'd heard Rudy's radio commercials for a long time. We got to the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The menu was great, as were the prices. We enjoyed our meal - I had the deep friend prawns, one of my favorite meals, and they were done perfectly. Jim loved his lobster tail with all the fixings. The price was more than reasonable. The food really was delicious. Thanks for a great experience, we will come again."

  • "This was only our 2nd time going to Rudy's, and it was as special as the 1st time. We wanted to go somewhere special for our 31st anniversary, and Rudy's was our choice. Having the menu available online helped giving us an idea what we were going to have beforehand - it was fun sitting on our deck in Camino the Sunday before our reservation going over it. When we recommend Rudy's to others, we always mention to "check out their website". The food and service was excellent, and our server, Jason, never made us feel rushed. The atmosphere was quiet for the most part and relaxing. We are planning our next visit for my wife's birthday in a few weeks, it's worth the drive! The big decision will be seafood versus steak or chicken ;-)"

  • "Just spend my birthday on 6/17 with husband and family, good time. My husband and I always get the 20 oz Lobster, clam chowder and salad, as ususaly great meal. Would recommend to those that have not tried Rudy's Hide Away a try, especially the Lobster."

  • "This was my first time at Rudy's. The service was good and the food was okay. My husbands prime rib was dry and tough, he sent it back and the second piece was much better. I had the Cioppinno, I prefer that the crab and lobster to be already cracked, it's a mess cracking it with all the sauce they give you. However it was very good."

  • "Other person complained re salad being limpy. My chowder was fine. Perhaps due top Father's day they were short handed. Main courses were satisfactory. Drinks quite large."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "The food and drinks were delicious, my husband was very satisfied and the meat was cooked as requested. We are very satisfied and can't wait to eat there again. The special menu was great for getting out dinners on a holiday, good choice."

  • "This was our first dining experience at Rudy's. The booth was clean and the ambiance was great. The noise level was subdued which made for easy conversation levels. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. The seafood Louie was outstanding with copious amounts of seafood."

  • "Only our second visit to Rudy's...........and it is truly a "find". Had the lobster raviolis the first time and the cioppino this time while my wife did the "Thursday Special" whole Maine lobster and lobster ravioli's, respectively. The raviolis are amazing, she REALLY enjoyed the lobster and the clam chowder that came with dinner was delicious. My cioppino was very good but it seems the portion was a bit small for $26-$27. However (admittedly) I was STUFFED afterwards (endless French bread likely contributed to that). I'm anxious to return and try their prime rib. Wish Rudy's could find a side dish more seafoood (vs. steak) appropriate than french fries, mashed potatoes or veggies. Rudy's is a great find........!!!"

  • "My husband and I had been told that Rudy's had very good food and service and price point. We were pleasantly surprised - incredible escargot in mushroom halves, great clam chowder, succulent prime rib, scampi, and garlic mashed potatoes. The ambience is sort of softly lit and comfortable booths. This was a very good experience. Service was brisk, but professional and felt just right."

  • "Reservations are recommended. It was a little warm inside. The service was good. My wife had the Alaskan King Crab which was amazing! I had the Angus ribeye. The meat was tender but didn't have a lot of flavor. Overall Rudy's is a great place. We will be back"
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "We've enjoyed Rudy's for years, but this time our waitress made it even better. Jean is just about the best waitress we've ever had anywhere. Everything about the dinner was great: the food (especially the hot bread), the drinks, EVERYTHING. Of course we will be coming back!"
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "This was our second time to Rudy's and we're disappointed. The service was ok and the food was sub-par. We had to wait forever for our food due to several large parties. My husband ordered the ribeye steak which was covered with a sauce and mushrooms which he knew was hiding something.....the steak was all grissle. Definitely not worth it's price of $29."
