  • "We loved coming to Rudy's Hide Away we took our son and daughter in law for their birthday's along with their 2 children 10 & 12 The food was great the restaurant is always very clean, beautiful and full of fun. The waiters along withe the table server were both just great friendly and we truely enjoyed our time there. The waiter made our grandchildren feel special and we loved that he brought out a live lobster out for them to see. The whole evening was great we will be back for sure."

  • "We are new to the area and a friend of ours suggested we go there for dinner. I always saw a great number of vehicles in the parking lot but the curb appeal was not the best. We went there for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and plentiful. The service was great. All in all a good experience."

  • "My boyfriend had the stuffed salmon. It was over cooked, very over cooked and tasted like the didn't season it at all. I had the king crab legs and they were rubbery and pretty tasteless. The waitress wasn't very attentive either. A few times, I was left with an empty glass. I was very disappointed. The meal wasn't worth $20, much less the $70 we paid. I will never go back to Rudy's."

  • "WE ALWAYS ENJOY GOING TO RUDY'S HIDEAWAY FOR ANY SPECIAL OCCASION BECAUSE WE KNOW THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE FRESH AND GOOD! I ALSO LIKE THAT WHEN YOU ORDER THE DINNER AT RUDY'S HIDEAWAY, IT INCLUDES SOUP OR SALAD AND AND THE SIDE ITEM LIKE MASHED POTATOES, BAKED POTATOES OR RICE PILAFF. MOST RESTAURANTS TODAY CHARGE YOU FOR A SOUP OR SALAD."

  • "I have been going to Rudy's for several decades now. It is by far the best seafood restaurant in the greater Sacramento area. I ordered the 5 ounce lobster tail and sirloin steak with asparagus and a bowl of their clam chowder. As an appetizer lobster pot stickers. The lobster pot stickers are fantastic. My date ordered the lobster ravioli, garlic mashed potato and salad. Everything was cooked perfectly. The waiter kept my ice tea glass filled without being a bother to us. Not easy since I drink a lot of fluids. If you like lobster you will love Rudy's."

  • "Rudy's is one of the most up-scale dining spots in the area. The food is superb and the service is top-notch. The 8 0z lobster is my favorite and is presented perfectly."

  • "I thought for the price that vegetables should have been included and not just as a choice. Also thought there should be linen napkins. Denise, the waitress was very good and helpful."

  • "Traveling on business looking for good seafood. Rudy's Hideaway was highly recommended on TripAdvisor. Did not disappoint! Saturday night late reservations. Greeted warmly and seated immediately in a really large booth for a party of 2. Server Jason excellent from start to finish. Crab-stuffed mushrooms appetizer fabulous. My salad was delicious and my husband said his clam chowder was one of the best he has ever had. I ordered lobster tail with fresh asparagus. Lobster tasted so fresh and cooked perfectly. Husband had scampi with mashed potatoes which he loved. For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse served in a sundae-sized glass - awesome! Wish we lived closer so we could eat there on a regular basis."

  • "So I am a little peeved. I specifically stated in the website reservation booking that it was my dad's birthday and wanted a great table...NOT BY THE DOOR. Which is where she preceded to attempt to seat us. I declined and asked if we could sit in the bigger dinning area. Again...we were seated almost in the hallway between the doorway/bar/dinning room entrance. Would have appreciated not having to view constant staff gathering there next to our table as it seemed to be an intersection between the bar and adjoining dinning rooms. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive and nicely made up for the subpar service from the hostess."

  • "Thursday's special is the 1# live Maine lobster and it is soooooo good!! I always go on Thursday's for that lobster and at $18 to me it's a good deal. My husband always gets the Kobe burger and says it's also very tasty. We always try to sit in Ron's station. He is a great waiter and always very friendly. We have been going to Rudy's over 25 years while many things have remained the same they still keep the place neat and clean and tweak the menu every now and then to give customers new options. I wish they would bring back the Oktoberfest. They used to make on premises most of the food and while traditional German food isn't real high on my list it is good and makes the Oktoberfest a more real experience. It was always fun."

  • "The food was outstanding. Two of us the 8oz Lobster w/ salad. The other had Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl and a salad. We left nothing on our plates. The service was timely and pleasant. I will always refer my friends to Rudy's for a great meal, an great service for a special night out or for lunch."

  • "I had the Lobster special, I found the tail rather tough to chew and cut. Next time I will have the prime rib I know that is always wonderful."

  • "Rudy's continues to provide the best deal for excellent lobster and king crab. There are other items that will whet your appetite, but shellfish are my favorites. The bartender is a "wizard mixologist". "Hideaway" is an apt description for the place, because you can have an intimate dinner with someone special in a Captain's Room corner booth. Our favorite for celebrating an anniversary together or party with friends."

  • "The orverall service was good except it was a very long time to wait to be served our food. This was a birthday gathering and we were charge $11 to cut a cake. We were not told that in the beginning otherwise we would have cut and served the cake ourselves. That should have been told up front."

  • "My wife and I had been wanting to try Rudy's for a while. I made an online reservation, which was very easy. We were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival by a waiter who actually came to the bar to find us...no flashing pagers. The appetizers were delicious, the entrees were cooked exactly as we requested, and the timing of each courses' delivery was spot on. Our waiter was pleasant and professional, and never made a mistake. We will be back!"

  • "My wife and I met another couple for dinner a Rudy's Hideaway on a Saturday night in February this year. We made reservations for 6:30pm. We arrived about 6:25 they had our reservation but we were told that our table was not ready yet. We waited in the lounge about 15 minutes before we were seated. To start we ordered the StuffedMushrooms, they were very good better than expected. We also had the Clam Chowder soup which was delicious. My wife ordered the Lobster Ravioli and I ordered the Captain's Seafood Platter. The place was very crowded and it took a long time before our food arrived but we both enjoyed our meal. Our friends both ordered Lobster one had a 8oz and one had the 16oz. We had a very nice meal at Rudy's and I will return."

  • "I've been in a place very much like Rudy's on the East coast but it was called the "Maine Lobster House." Rudy's delivered on an authentic east coast lobster house experience. Which was amazing considering it's in Central California right outside of Sacramento. It's very down home, not pretentious at all trying to be something it's not - just like the Maine Lobster House."
