  • "Rudolph's baby back ribs are the best I've ever tasted! We always enjoy dining here - it's one of our family's favorite spots for celebrations. This time we were able to take advantage of an email offer - BOGO entrees for those with a March birthday. During the meal, a staff member stopped by to ask about our satisfaction with the meal and he said: "I see that you have made several reservations here through Open Table so I gave you a table in a quiet spot ." I was very impressed with this personal touch!"

  • "Planning to find Rudolph's for quite some time and finally took the time. It was well worth it. Did the Ultimate for 2 and it was great. Loved the sweet potato fries as an appetizer and drink list was substantial. Fun evening out in a great atmosphere."

  • "After reading previous reviews we thought we would give Rudolph's a try. A couple of highlights were the prompt and friendly service the appetizers (wings and cornbread) and the baked beans. The main course though was a let down. My standards for BBQ are high having competed professionally and their ribs, brisket, and chicken were all average at best. The brisket tasted like roast beef with a very thin smoke ring and so no smoky flavor. The ribs were to greasy and again very flavorless. Sorry but we won't be going back."

  • "While the food was very tasty, served promptly, as ordered, and hot, the real kudos goes to the fact that I was entertaining 6 people from China who wanted the "American experience". Despite the language gap, our waitress was very helpful, attentive, and patient. Her efforts were the key to a fun and enjoyable lunch."

  • "My Wife and I enjoyed our Valentine's Dinner at Rudolph's. We had the Valentine's Day Special, which was 2 entrees, plus appetizer, soup or salad, dessert, and a bottle of wine for $70.00. We asked if we could pass on the wine, and the charge was dropped b $20.00. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was nice, and we had an enjoyable dinner."

  • "Excellent food and service - only complaint is was overcharged for side dishes and replacement cornbread."

  • "First of all I would like to note that the service I received from James or whatever his name was not professional at all. He was very rude to me and my guests. I was ok with waiting for my party to arrive before being seated but when I would ask him questions about my table he was very rude and dry with his answers. As my party arrived a guest asked him about some high top tables and he once again was dry and rude not even taking the time to stop and talk with us about what the situation was. After being seated by the hostess I approached him again with the question of whether I would get my table for 10 when my party arrived his response 'your at a table arent u'....My guest informed him that he was being very RUDE...."

  • "When I have a hankering for ribs, Rudolph's is it for me. The Bogie (St. Louis style full slab) is always worth the drive from Minnetonka. Best slaw in town."

  • "serving size on the ribs for 2 was rather skimpy. However, overall the food was delicious. We brought two guests from OUS, who enjoyed their first BBQ experience at Rudy's. They especially liked the ribs and the sweet potato fries."

  • "My boyfriend has had several great meals at Rudolph's and he was eager to show it off to me. Making our reservation via Open Table was super simple. Our server gave us what seemed to be honest opinions when we had questions about the food. The beer list was great, and although my boyfriend and I both dislike "hoppy" beers, we were both able to find beers we liked thanks to the IBU (International Bittering Units) included on the beer list. The manager came over to chat after we'd selected our beers. He made a friendly recommendation of what other food to try with one of the beers, if we ever get a chance. Based on what we ordered, I recommend the baby back ribs and the sweet potato fries, which were the best I've ever had."

  • "This was our first visit in a year. During that time Rudolph's changed the menu and the way they prepare some of the items. The Buffalo Wings which were fried, crispy and had spicy sauce, are now grilled with a mild sauce and the rib tips which were boneless are now baby back ribs chopped into bite-size pieces. Both were not good. The other mediocre item two (in our party of 6 ordered) was the pulled pork sandwich which is something I would expect a BBQ restaurant to be able to handle. It was dry and served on a ciabatta bun which does not really go with that type of sandwich. Bottom line, we will not be going to Rudolph's anymore."

  • "We have been going to Rudolph's every New Years Day since 1978. That's thirty seven straight years. Each year Jimmy Theros out does himself. in 1978 it was the hottest spot in town and it remains a classic. It is hard to find a restaurant that can even remain anywhere for thirty seven years. There is a reason it has stayed fibrant. Try it and you will never be disappointed. Tell him New Years Day guys sent you! They will treat you right!"

  • "Used to frequent Rudolph's back in the 70's and 80's because it was in my neighborhood. Don't get there now as much as I'd like, but it's still got the same great food I remember. The ribs are outstanding - I had the babybacks on my recent lunch visit. The rest of my party all enjoyed sandwiches - pulled pork, chicken pesto.... Their sweet potato fries with chipotle aioli are some of the best I've ever had. And their famous coleslaw is still amazing. I definitely will plan a return visit soon."

  • "Upon arriving in the Twin Cities for a fun-filled weekend, dinner plans included dining at Rudolph's Bar-B-Que. As always, it was a pleasurable experience. We enjoy the food, unique atmosphere, ambiance and outstanding service. We will be back."

  • "The babyback ribs I had were over cookled and did not have much meat on the bones. The cold slaw was very good."

  • "Rudolph's has been a staple for us for years. This week we met a group of friends and had a perfect evening with great food!"
    Dined on 12/18/2013
  • "The ribs and brisket are really good, but the ambiance is confusing. There is a bar with a sports bar feel, and then "quiet" booths in back. A bit schizophrenic."
    Dined on 11/27/2013
  • "Rudolph continues to be the best of it's competition for ribs and all that goes with it! The coleslaw is the best -- service is really good - and quality is consistently great!"
    Dined on 11/27/2013
  • "They do not deserve to call themselves a BBQ restaurant. Neither the brisket nor the ribs had any seasoning (dry rub) on them. The only "BBQ" flavor was from the sauce. The ribs were burned to a crisp. I have had jerky that was more tender than their ribs. As we were leaving, we walked past a table in which someone had an entire rack of ribs. His ribs were just as burned as ours was. I have been making my own BBQ for more than 20 years. I season the meat for four days before I smoke it. We went here to celebrate my birthday. Burger King and McDonalds have better food, and I refuse to go to McDonalds and have been to Burger King once in the past 9 years."

  • "We love Rudolph's. If you've never been, there is a parking lot 1/2 a block south of the restaurant, across the street. The cornbread is a must have! Great craft beer and wine selection, notable happy hour too. The brisket and the pulled pork are some of our favorites. Don't miss the coleslaw either! They threw in a free dinner for the birthday girl when we had a large group too. That may have been one great server though, I thought it was usually just dessert. Either way, we're not complaining!"

  • "Rudolph's makes the best Ribs and BBQ in town, and the service is always great. The noise level in the bar and first dining room was deafening and we had to shout at each other to converse across our table. Perhaps the back dining room would be quieter and that's where we'll ask to be seated next visit."

  • "Authentic Southern BBQ. Ribs are expertly prepared, prefect texture, color and flavor. Meat pulls from the bone with little effort but not too easy either. Just right! Brisket is firm and flavorful, plenty of marbling but not too fatty. Chicken has an excellent smoky flavor and very juicy. Cornbread is great! This is a must for a side dish. It comes freshly baked in a cast iron skillet with a special sweet glaze. Portions are generous and prices are moderate. I cannot wait to return."

  • "The only reason I did not give them a 5 star is really is probably not fair, but getting to the resturant is a problem. The traffic on that corner and the limited parking is cause to think twice about going there. Best baby back ribs I have had."

  • "We had a birthday party in Rudolph and it was very good. Awesome food, nice service and great location. The bbq sauce is really really good there."
    Dined on 10/21/2013
  • "We were seated in the back room which is much quieter than near the bar, especially on a Friday night at 6 PM. The menu has a wide variety of items to choose from and everything we've had so far has been excellently prepared. The wait staff are friendly, helpful, and experienced. It is a "go-to" spot."
    Dined on 10/18/2013
  • "we've enjoyed ruddies for decades, but recent changes are disappointing. the portion sizes are smaller than they have always been, little things--like the wonderful cheese crouton that used to grace a ceasar salad--are gone. happy hour isn't as good. not certain what is happening, but it's disheartening."
    Dined on 10/18/2013
  • "The staff at Rudolph's are very accommodating, when I couldn't figure out what wine would be suitable for me the waiter suggested a wine spritzer. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. It is a very nice setting for family, work or casual gatherings."
