  • "RPM Italian is by far the best restaurant in town. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable! All restaurants should strive to be like RPM. They really care about quality and details. They make you feel wanted and welcomed, and the food is just flawless."

  • "Great place for upscale Italian. A bit pricey but the taste and service back it up at least. I just wish the pasta plates weren't so small but we ordered a lot of small plates/apps thankfully."

  • "I came here with a friend on a Friday night, and the earliest reservation we could get was for 10:00. (To be fair, we only booked about a week in advance.) Despite waiting until about 10:10 to be seated, we had a wonderful dinner. The food was great, and although we were not blown away by the service, it was nothing to complain about. The restaurant was still very busy at this time, and we found that customers were more dressed up than they had been when we came during the week. Definitely a hot spot in River North!"

  • "Fantastic place. Like and italian version of Tapas. Small sharing portions of delicious well seasoned italian food. Decor is modern and open. We had Arancini, lobster calabrese, ricotta bread, crab spaghetti and lobster ravioli. All excellent. Can not find a fault with the food. I prefer small flavorful portions to large portions of bad food. To make things even better Bill and Guilliana came in and sat at a table beside ours. Very nice people. Waiters did a great job. Highly recommended! Best restaurant on our visit to Chicago."

  • "Went for an early Anniversary dinner. Was in Chicago for a party. Was greeted at our table with complimentary champaign and was wished a happy anniversary. Food and staff was awesome. Ordered our desserts and also got a complimentary dessert as well with a candle. Would go back and recommend to everyone! !"

  • "Lots of hype surrounds RPM; well worth the two month wait to get reservations. Can't wait to go back. excellent staff."

  • "This menu was insane, we tried 8 different things and they were all spectacular, most notably the meatballs and lobster caprese. Music is upbeat and the décor is beautiful."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 22 anniversary at RPM and it was worth every penny. They offered complimentary champaign and treat. Great meal!"

  • "Been wanting to eat here for a while; had heard great things. We couldn't have been treated nicer. Took my niece here as a celebration for joining the navy and they really made her feel special. Not to mention the food was wonderful from start to finish. Would definitely eat here again. Thanks RPM for treating us so well."

  • "I have heard about RPM forever and had never been. I heard that recently they had made smaller plates and smaller prices and they have. I was not, however, impressed with the bland Shredded Brussell Sprouts with Avocado. Lots of raw crunch but no flavor. It was a generous size for the $13 though. The Paparadelle Bolognese was equally unimpressive with an overwhelming amount of what appeared to be something like pulled pork and sundried tomatoes in a tomato gravy with a few noodles. The noodles were good but the sauce was 'off' flavor wise and there was far too much of it. The house made donuts were a highlight and the service was delightful but a little slow."

  • "I'm told that RPM runs late for seating people, but one hour???!!! Anyway we were in the bar and are in the bar. It's a scene, but the food wasn't all that."

  • "This was my second time dining at RPM, currently a real hot spot in Chicago. Located in the very trendy River North area among other hot spots, it attracts a very see-and-be-seen crowd of well coiffed, twenty to thirty somethings. The ambiance, from the loud music in the bar area to the modern decor appeals to this very group. Being older than that demographic, I tend to prefer a more laid back atmosphere. Nevertheless, the overall experience was excellent. The food, particularly the pastas but just about every dish we tried, was truly wonderful and relative to some of the other area restaurants, not too pricey. The service was also prompt, courteous, and informative. Thank you Zoe! Highly recommended."

  • "We dined at RPM twice during our stay in Chicago and wow what an experience... However both times we arrived on time for our bookings only to be rudely told (by the greeting lady) we would have to wait 45 mins and an hour respectively. If the bookings were more on time and the greeting staff were more friendly this place would be a 5 star!!"

  • "Food was great. Service was great. Only negative was a 40 minute wait with reservations."

  • "Had a reservation but still waited 50 minutes! I liked my food but the others at the table thought the food was just okay. Service, similar to the two times I've been before, is not personable but rather robotic. Music is very loud. The sound level is like you're eating at a dance club. With so many restaurants in Chicago, I've had my fill of RPM."

  • "This is my second time at RPM. Both times we had fabulous service. We loved everything we ate. Two of us are vegetarians and it is no problem. There are so many great options. The only problem is making a decision!!! Can't wait to go back."

  • "I went here with a friend for my second birthday outing and it was amazing. We had a great server who was super engaging. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the sweet corn pasta and the ricotta salata as an appetizer. I only wish more dessert options were available like a cake or a seasonal tart. Overall, I would go back again as the first 2 courses were excellent."

  • "The decor was elegant and the staff was well groomed and uniform. Our toddler was with us and the high chairs were top notch (slim, perfect height for the table, three point harness) but there was no changing table in the women's bath. We dined on the tuna bruschetta and the octopus. Both we're exceptional. My toddler favored the tuna. We then enjoyed the potato gnochi and the spicy crab pasta dish. We were very satisfied. No dessert but if ever in town again, we would love to try more of the menu. We choose 4 out of 5 stars just because we like to reserve our 5s for places we have dined at more than once or have a more complete menu and service sampling experience (ie big group were we try each others dishes)."

  • "My co-worker and I had a quick turn around in Chicago and I had always wanted to try RPM. The waiter was fantastic, he checked on us and explained the menu with great detail. The food was fantastic! I left eating Italian food and I didn't feel heavy or bloated. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! If I'm ever back in Chicago I'll stop by again"

  • "Everything we had was outstanding - must try the meatballs for sure. The best thing to do is to share your plate with the rest of your table ~ our only regret was that it was just my wife an I (we need to bring more people next time!) Decently priced for how great the food and service was. Ann our server was top notch and very knowledgable about all items - very patient too! They offered me 20% off due to being active duty military - THAT WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING, THEY MADE ME FEEL GREAT! G and B were actually I'm the restaurant when we were there ( very sneaky they must have snuck in the back door or something.) They seemed really approachable and down to earth. Needless to say they earned my business for a long time to come."

  • "I took my wife here for our 30 year anniversary celebration and it was an outstanding experience in every way. The staff was wonderful the food was outstanding and the service was just the right balance of making sure your needs are met but not obnoxiously checking with you every minute. We both enjoyed ourselves and will defiantly be back in the not so distant future. Looking forward to RPM Steak to open soon!!!!"

  • "We were visiting Chicago for our wedding anniversary and made a reservation about a month out. The food was to die for! We ordered the tuna Bruschetta to start along with garlic truffle bread. WOW!! Delicious! The restaurant brought us complimentary sparkling wine for our anniversary. For dinner we shared the lobster ravioli and the carbonara. Portion sizes were just right and the flavors were perfect! For dessert we ordered the day's special which were little doughnut type puffs with Nutella and marscapone. They also brought us a complimentary sampling of gelato for our anniversary. Both wonderful! Great ambiance, amazing food. They are about to open RPM Steak a few blocks away and I'm sure it will be just as great!!"

  • "I overall enjoyed RPM. It was very busy and a reso is recommended, they do have lots of seats at the bar though. The design inside with lots of booths, very young and trendy. It is a good menu for sharing and also on the pricier side as the dishes are small. The food was very good, amazing pasta and cheeses. The service was not great for a nicer place, my drink stayed empty for all of my meal, the server came by rarely and we even had to get the hostess to let us pay the bill. I think with a little better service it would be awesome!"

  • "Appetizers, entrees and wine were amazing. (As were the signature cocktails and service in the lounge.) Dessert was anticlimactic relatvie to how great the entrees were. Our restaurant server was terrible. He was inattentive, did not listen to us very well and really just preferred to socialize with other tables that were interested in hearing why he had moved to Chicago and how great he thought he was. He seemed somewhat put out that he had to serve us at all. The wine server was amazing as was another server who we asked to get us a dessert list as we got tired of waiting for our server who kept forgetting about is. He definitely put a damper on what was otherwise a great first time experience in Chicago."

  • "RPM was fantastic. The food, the beverages and the ambiance are all to be admired. We started with Guiliana's Italian Salad, and the Tuna Bruschetta- both were absolutely delicious and unique tasting. My boyfriend had the Main Lobster Ravioli, which tasted incredible- the lobster was fantastic. For myself, I had the Sweet Corn Agnolotti, which I can safely say is the best pasta I've ever had. For dessert, we went with the Tartufo, which tasted like a giant frozen Ferrero Rocher, zero complaints there. The only slight complaint I could make is that the seating hostesses are not very friendly/give dirty looks. Overall, we had an unreal experience at RPM! :)"

  • "RPM Italian is an awesome restaurant that always provides great food and tremendous service regardless of server. The food is so well done and provides a modern twist on Italian. And you've got to try the amazing Meatballs!!"

  • "Fantastic restaurant in the River North neighborhood. I've dined here a few times, but decided to bring my parents and family who can be picky when dining at more "foodie" type places. They loved every single bite. I highly recommend the Prosciutto Tortellini and the Eggplant Parm. You also must stay for dessert! Overall an amazing experience that I recommend for any dates or family outings!"

  • "Everything from start to finish was fabulous. We had a reservation (always makes things easier in Chicago) but we arrived a little early. We sat at the bar and had a drink. They had a good variety of options. For dinner we started with the Prime Beef meatballs (a must have!) and the charred pepperoni pizzette. I had the sea scallops with mushrooms on the side. These mushrooms were out of this world! I like mushrooms but I'm not ga-ga over them... these I am ga-ga over! They were amazing. My husband had the Lobster Ravioli and broccolini and that was very good too. The ambiance is a little weird. The servers are all wearing lab coats, like we're in the doctors office, but they were very attentive and friendly."

  • "So glad i got to try the homemade ricotta and gnocchi. Wow - food and decor was great. Staff was very friendly and attentive. My one and only "complaint" is that we sat near the entrance to the kitchen where a lot of servers gather, so we heard a lot of chatter and conversations we shouldn't. I'm in the industry, though, so I get it. Not a huge deal"

  • "My friend and I have tried several times to get a reservation, but our timing was always off. We finally got one and it was well worth the wait. The ambience is elegant, but welcoming; the food was outstanding, particularly the meatballs and Brussels sprouts; and the service was great. Our waitress seemed very well trained, knowledgeable and courteous. We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to our friends."

  • "Enjoyed an amazing lunch at RPM Italian. Our server, Mary, was fantastic. Everything about the food was noteworthy. The fried artichokes, Giuiliana's Italian salad, Mama Depandi's bucatini, the meatballs, the Sicilian slow roasted pork - all excellent! Even the desserts were an incredible tasting experience. Highly recommend. Looking forward to returning and also to visiting RPM Steak when it opens."

  • "Beautiful and upscale decor. Staff friendly and accommodating. Menu very limited, portions small, food good. I'll stick with drinks and appetizers at the bar next time."

  • "The service and atmosphere were amazing. The food left much to be desired! Specifically the fried olives tasted like a corn dog from the fair and the asparagus was extremely bland."

  • "Horrible service. Our waiter didnt feel like working that night. We are regulars at RPM but the service my husband and I along with a guest from Texas experienced on 7/19/14 was horrible."

  • "We went with friends, and had the toasted ravioli (very small size, but big taste!) The Brussel sprout salad and arugula with artichokes and Parmesan were both great. The lobster ravioli was delicious, as was my friends pasta carbonara, My husband did not like the pork shoulder and only ate a few bites, saying it was to fatty. The coffee was good, and we shared the cannolis - which were amazing. Everything I ate was delicious, can't wait to go back. We had reservations, but there was still a bit of a wait (which I always think is dumb, like they are just doing it because they can/not because they need to). Overall it was great food, good table service, but the hostess could be a bit friendlier."
