Being a Monday made me think it wouldn't be crowded but I was Wrong. When we left the restaurant around 10pm, the restaurant and bar were still completely full and people were waiting to be seated...crazy but worth the wait.
Having never been there, we asked the waiter, Alex G, for recommendations and quantity.We ended up taking his advice for the entire meal and were not disappointed. There was not a morsel of food left. Having said that, the portions were smallish, which allowed us to try lots of dishes. She's vegan and the server was very informative and couldn't do enough to ensure we were both satisfied with our food selections. She checked with the chef several times to ensure my niece's food fit the vegan regimen and she was very happy. They even brought soy milk to accompany her coffee. Food delicious; we stuck with the trademark Mama DiPandi's pasta. I had a meatball my niece had asparagus and I know why this restaurant was started for this dish alone. We had the best time trying a lot of dishes and our waiter was fun and happy.
We had the porcini pasta special, meatballs, garlic toast, cheese tray, sweet pea dish, lobster cabrese, coconut creme brulee, Bill's caramel, and banana chocolate chip cheesecake....and lots of wine.
The table was a little small to be really comfortable, but they served the food at different times and always with a clean plate so that helped with the space.

The food is made for sharing, which was perfect for us.
We had the octopus (amazing), shaved artichoke salad (delicious) and the squash blossoms (light and tasty). We then each got a pasta, which were smaller than entree size, but perfect after sharing a few appetizers. Spicy crab for him, carbonara for me.
Great drinks and impressive wine list.

Also, they were 30 minutes late getting us a table even though we had a 9pm reservation. To be fair, however, the waiter had a "small-bite" appetizer sent to the table because of the late seating.
Other than this, the evening was great. The food, wine, and service were terrific. Our waiter didn't hover or try to up-sell us on everything. Very professional. The food is great, tasty, tapas style portions to share and this way you get to try a lot. Truffle garlic bread is a must here.
