  • "Everything about RPM was fantastic. Excellent food and wine, wonderful presentation and service, modern and clean decor. I would highly recommend dinner (and dessert) at RPM. No complaints here. Lobster Caprese was refreshing, the truffled garlic bread was so yummy. Try Mama De Pandi's Bucatini Pomodora. Everything was really impressive! We'll be back!"

  • "A lot of things went wrong. We were told our reservation was running a few minutes behind. Then we watched group after group after group be sat. Checked and sure enough they skipped us. So we get the first saying up next which was high chairs near the bar which we did not want. So we at least order our drinks and my husband and I aren't big alcohol drinkers so the server treated us like we were crazy for wanting soft drinks. We asked to move seats since our feet fell alseep in the uncomfortable chairs. Get a nice little booth with a nice server. Things were starting to get better and then she have us the desert menu. There was one I particular I had wanted since I flew from home and first things she says, they're out of that one."

  • "I am not sure what is so great about his place. He layout of the dining room is terrible and just seems like total chaos. The service was super slow and couldn't ind waitress just to get two limes. We were never offered Parmesan cheese had flag down someone which took at least ten minutes. The food was nothing to talk about had much better authentic Italian other places. I am convinced it's only popular bc of Hollywood names attached to it."

  • "We were there for my friend's birthday. We made a reservation through Opentable and did not wait at all. Our waiter was so nice, and the food was delicious. Mama DePandi's pasta was the bomb, I had Lobster Ravioli and it was to die for!!! If I lived in Chicago, I would be there quite often. Great spot for drinks and food with friends or lovers!!! Very trendy, fancy enough!!! Our server told us that Guliana and Bill were going to open something similar in Miami so I am waiting for that!!! Hurry up."

  • "My husband and I extremely enjoyed our dining experience at RPM but did not enjoy sitting at the bar.We arrived 15 min prior to our reservation so we ordered a drink at the bar.the bartender was not very enthusiastic or very engaging. She did not make us feel welcome and very rude.I was happy that they accomodated my request for a romantic table. The level of music was not to loud you could carry on a conversation without shouting and the music choices were very upbeat. The food was fantastic! we ordered the lobster caprese as an appetizer which was wonderful- the buffalo mozzarella was very fresh! We shared the prusciutto tortelloni (very small portion) and hand made Cavatelli. The pastas were very fresh. We will dine there again."

  • "I visited Chicago twice this summer and both times ate at RPM. The food is over the top delicious! Service outstanding. Favorite new server Bobby actually remembered what we had a month ago! Staff is exceedingly well trained in customer service. This is the only place I will go to next time I am in town."

  • "Everything I have ever ordered here has been fantastic. Quickly became my favorite place..."

  • "Food was okay. Service was good. Best things were the meatballs and the wine. Gnocchi were too chewy but the sauce was good. Brussels sprout had a good caramelization on the outside but overall they were over cooked and a little mushy. Bass was okay, not great but not bad."

  • "Loved everything about this experience! The wait staff was incredibly attentive and very helpful when it came to the menu, though not pushy at all. Food was INCREDIBLY. We tired five or six different things and everything was superb. Especially the pasta....YUM. Can't wait to be back."

  • "Food was good. Better than anticipated. This city has some fantastic old school Italian restaurants. However what it is lacking in food which is not much it makes up for with its vibrant atmosphere. Our service was very good and any small mistake was noticed and taken care of without us saying anything. Great place for a date night and the vibe just feels good."

  • "RPM might be too energetic for those who like quiet dinner places. but the food is one of the best. love the porterhouse for 2-4. I've tried most of the pastas here, and all of them are great. plenty of garlic bread for 4 people to share."

  • "The atmosphere was cool and hip. The service was impeccable, and the Italian family style cuisine was delicious and filling, my husband had the sea scallops and I had the Gnocchi and we shared the sides of mushrooms and asparagus. We then split a dessert of canolli. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Chicago. A night time happening spot in Chicago!"

  • "I went on Saturday night; it was a nice and lively place. The service was excellent and the food was pretty good, but not "out of this world". I would recommend the Tuna Bruschetta as an appetizer for two people. It's a nice place to go if you want to go out for a nice dinner but don't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money. I like that the pasta dishes were small (5oz or so), this allowed us to get 2 appetizers before hand. 3 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers, 2 pasta dishes, 1 coffee with irish cream, 1 dessert = $130"

  • "RPM Italian boasts a cool atmosphere with delicious options. You must order the truffle oil garlic bread, Guliana's Italian salad to start with. We love the spaghetti and meatballs, lobster ravioli, gnocchi, and more! Finally, close off your meal with Bill's Chocolate Budino, it is light with rich flavors of chocolate, caramel and sea salt."

  • "My husband and I went to RPM for our 2nd anniversary and we're really glad this is the place we chose for dinner. From the moment we walked in the staff were extremely friendly and service was top notch. We enjoyed a couple cocktails while waiting for our table and were happy with both - Moscow Mule and Monterossa Mule. With dinner, our waitress (Amy), gave great recommendations and surprised us with 2 glasses of prosecco to celebrate. Our favorite dishes we tried were the Australian truffle crab ravioli (not on the normal menu), the cavatelli, wood roasted octopus and mushroom aranchini. We also had the doughnut dessert with nutella (off normal dessert menu as well) and loved it. Highly recommend this place!"

  • "Very nice looking restaurant, but what matters to me is that the food is good. Small portions so it is intended that you would order a few items among a group/couple. Very good food though."

  • "Everything was amazing!!! Our server was very helpful and she made the best suggestions! Hopefully we will be back to Chicago to try your other plates."

  • "Before paying our first visit we thought it was more of a celebrity factor. After we had our first dinner it is very obvious RPM is great with its food!""

  • "There were four of us and we had dinner here for the first time. The appetizers we enjoyed so much were the meat balls and roasted octopus, the kale salad and the garlic bread were fine, but not great. The main courses that we enjoyed the most were spicy crab pasta and papedelli. The whole wheat pasta was just ok. we also had Alaskan halibut and it was very lightly sauced with a touch of oil. The fish was very flash. The wine selections were great. Overall we had a great experience."

  • "Some places might receive a bad review every once in a while because of an outlier in service or kitchen quality but you would still go back again because you know better. This is not one of those places. 1. Makes everyone wait for their tables. Saw many empty tables when my party walked thru the dining room to use their 1 stall unisex restroom. Guess they're trying to create a perception. 2. Wow, the size of the pasta entrees. Should have warned us we didn't order enough food. I'm not a big guy but I could have easily ate 2 orders. The woman in our party received 6 pieces of regular sized ravioli. If that was my order I could have finished it in 3 minutes. It definitely took longer to wait for our entrees than the actual consumption."

  • "Chicago trip, check. RPM, check. I totes forgot to request booth seating through OT so I emailed RPM a few days before my res. Within an hour, I received a very nice email from the mgr letting me that she would do her best to accommodate (they were able to!). We ordered the 600-day prosciutto (MY FAV), stuffed peppers, truffle toast, lobster caprese, squid ink spaghetti, cavatelli & cocktails. I was worried that it wouldn't be enough after reading other reviews but it was plenty for my party of 3. I loved everything from the ambiance to the service to the food & was shocked that everything was so reasonably priced! I truly was not expecting less from G&B. Def an admirable couple with great style & taste!"

  • "We went to RPM off of a local's recommendation and was pleased. Although we had to send our steak back because it was overcooked by a long shot, they gave us a new one cooked to order and brought a side of potatoes to make up for the mistake. Still, the steak was just good, but not great. Next time, we won't be ordering steak because it was just ok. Stick with italian, it's amazing."

  • "We stopped in for a light supper before the Navy Pier fireworks on July 4 and the overall expereince was excellent. The meatballs were a huge hit (as I had been told before hand that they were excellent I was afraid they were over-hyped, but they delivered). Neither of us drink and when we declined the waiter's offer of something he seemed a bit perplexed (I'm sure they were just trying to try to hard but a second individual actually came over to verify we didn't want any mixed drinks..that was my only negative with the whole meal). Once we were past that, the rest of service was professional and quick. And the waiter kept our non-alcoholic beverages filled witout being intrusive so we could sit and chat."

  • "Living in Chicago have heard so much hype about RPM. Wanted to treat our guests from Miami to a local Resturant and special evening. Extremely disappointed! Quality of food did not justify price. No bread with bland salads. Homemade spaghetti with lobster had no taste and big blob of spaghetti stuck together. Requested Parmesan for a little flavor boost and was given a container with approximately 1 Tbsp of cheese-should have been grated at table to customer satisfaction. Salmon special quoted $10. less by waiter than charged-presentation consisted of small chunk of salmon alone on big plate. I could go on and on as to why we will never go back. Don't mind paying big bucks for quality. Mastros the following night saved the weekend:)"
