  • "A restaurant is not an exact science, and sometime things go wrong. Our appetizers came out delicious, but my entree just wasn't right. I talked with the waitress and she immediately offer to replace it. I switched to the entree my wife was enjoying. Within minutes I was eating my newly prepared dish. The evening was saved with great food and fantastic wait staff."

  • "I love this location, the staff is always good here. Food is very good. Love all the sushi rolls, they are flavorful and quite filling. The appetizer ribs are a favorite too. The entrees and specials are fresh, prepared with lots of flavor. The room is always busy yet staff manages each time perfectly. Great spot in Woodland Hills. Just wish I could park my own car, I hate having valet parking - not because of the cost but because I don't like my car doors flung open, seat moved etc."

  • "I've never been to Roy's, although I've lived in the Valley for many years. I'm a fan of steak houses, but just got back from Hawaii and felt like some fish. I must say that the service was excellent. Our server as well as the bussers, hosts and valets were absolutely on top of everything. We ordered drinks, my husband had a mai tai and I had a Sauvignon Blanc. Our appetizer, Lobster California Rolls, tasted fresh and delicious. My entree, the Misoyaki Butter Fish was cooked perfectly and tasted great. My husband really enjoyed the Alaea Salt Crusted Bone in Ribeye. Overall it was a relaxing environment and we had a pleasurable experience."

  • "Chose Roy's to celebrate a wedding anniversary, Roy's didn't disappoint us. Drinks were fabulous, appetizer was great and the fish selections were amazing! The pineapple upside down cake and chochlate soufflé is sublime. It does get a bit noisy in here, but that's the Roy's vibe making it a really great place to be."

  • "The noise level was too high. At the end of the evening when we were nearly the last in the the ding room we could finally stop yelling at each other. The macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi was good, the scallops were good. The Bone-in Spencer steak was swimming in a mediocre brown sauce. The Teppanyaki Shrimp the Shrimp were cooked perfectly. The rice noodles were flavorless. The Pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice-cream is a winner as well as the caramel sauce mac-nut tart. The coffee bread pudding was disappointing. The Lobster Pot stickers were half deep fried, half a gummy mess, no lobster flavor and a total FAILURE. The appetizer roll with Wabu Beef and Shiso micro greens, Lakanilau Roll was also real winner."

  • "The food was okay. The fish was a bit dry. The desserts--especially the chocolate peanut butter soufflee--were amazing. We had a group of 5 for my niece's 22nd birthday and the waiter was super-accommodating in taking photos with our smart phones. The restaurant actually gifts you with a fun birthday photo at the end of the meal."

  • "Dined with friends. My favorite is their Hawaiian Martini~always so smooth and flavorful. Our appetizers were very good and they even have Gluten Free soy sauce!! Everyone’s entrée except my Gluten Free one was delicious~the Scallops, the Fish Trio and especially the Lobster Pot Pie. Sadly my Roasted Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi was dry. The only saving grace was the Lobster Cream Sauce which I had to ask for more of so I could finish my fish. There were 3 ¼” slices of potato which has no seasoning and 3 asparagus spears that were tuff. I felt like I was penalized for having a GF entrée. We all shared the yummy Flourless chocolate cake. The server was great except she didn’t always refill our wine for us."

  • "I've been to this Roy's location many times and usually order the same thing. The appetizers and dessert have been consistent but the entree (Butterfish) was lacking. Pretty sure the presentation changed from the last time I ordered it (about one year ago), which included a smaller portion. The main problem I had, though, was the quality of the fish. It was a little burned and way over-marinated. My wife, who ordered the same dish noticed the same thing. It was markedly different from the last time in a bad way. I'll have to reconsider Roy's as our go-to for celebrating occasions, especially after forking over about $160 after tip. The quality of the fish just didn't do it for me this time around. "

The timing of our food was great, the taste was perfect - nothing was compromised due to the special day. Never felt rushed, just the opposite - we felt welcome and that our business was appreciated. There are many choices out there, but Roy's is always on the top of our list. Thank you!"

  • "Mother's Day brunch was a sad state of affairs - underwhelming appetizers to over cooked chicken and tasteless ribeyes. Wait staff were more concerned about the time of day than how much food went back to the kitchen. Sadly not even the wandering manager saw our finished plates and offered to clear them...I guess there are other people for that Roy's is good typically for dinner with service to match Mother's Day was a waste of my "mothers day""

  • "I used to dream about the food at Roy's When he first got started in Honolulu. Loved going to that little shack off Cocohead. Had brunch for Mothers Day in Woodland Hills and although they tried to present a gourmet treat everything was just "OKAY" For $40 a person we expected more. I'll go back for dinner and stick with the Asian Fusion cuisine. Haven't written them off yet. Although the Roy's in Kaanapali, Maui was a disappointment. There were several large Asian families in W.H. For brunch. usually a good sign. They we're ordering the Asian cuisine. My advice is stick to that."

  • "Our dining experience was okay. The food is pretty good, but touristy. As a true seafood lover, I prefer my seafood not tarted up in silly ways. The meat dishes were very good - filet mignon, pork belly dumpling and short ribs were all great. The desert was excellent - pineapple upside down cake and a chocolate souffle (which was actually a molten chocolate cake). The service was attentive, but too quick. The servers were trying to remove our dishes before we were finished. The cocktails were weakly made. It was like dining in Downtown Disney: slightly overpriced and touristy."

  • "Everyone from the hostess to the waitress, to the Maitre d, to the bus boys were attentive, polite, and did their jobs well. The restaurant was even nice enough to print up the first page in the menu wishing me a happy birthday. They also gave ma a complementary chocolate brownie with fresh fruit for dessert. We ate only appetizers and sushi rolls, but everything was delicious and presented lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for a little twist on Asian and sushi cuisine."
