Having been at other Roy's we were looking forward to a nice dinner. We were not disappointed, as the seafood was very nicely prepared and the service was solid. No complaints, other than this store is looking tired, a face lift would match the other parts of the dining experience.

The staff at Roy's are fantastic. They're friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was not good. Our appetizer was a kind of ravioli and was chewy. I got the snapper, even though I felt I shouldn't get seafood in the middle of the desert, but it washighly recommended. It was kind of rubbery and unappetizing. We've been to other Roy's in other places and always had a great meal. Maybe this one just had an off night.

Roy's Restaurants have always been at the top of our dining list. One of our favorites is the Roy's in Ko Olina because we vacation in Oahu every year. But, when in the Palm Desert area, Roy's in Rancho Mirage is definitely another of our favorite Roy's. We had a wonderful time the other night. We had a dinner reservation for 6pm but decided to get there early for Aloha Hour. This was a fantastic idea. The waitstaff were so friendly and fun! We enjoyed a couple of cocktails and pupus before dinner and met some really great people sitting next to us. It was a great experience and we most definitely will follow the same plan next time we are in the Rancho Mirage area. Keep up the good work.... Roy's!! The food and libations were FANTASTIC!!!!

Dinner was a truly enjoyable experience not only because the food was perfectly prepared but the service was spot on. Attentive but not intrusive. Friendly but not syrupy. Eddie the manager visited the table and spent time talking with us. He was interested in what we had to say and seemed to enjoy the conversation. He was not just going through the motions. Ahi tuna was delivered just as advertised, just slightly grilled and raw on the inside. Wonderful! Definitely recommend this location.

We have been going to this Roy’s for over 2 years now and have always had outstanding service, drink and food. On our most recent trip we only experienced outstanding food, all be it in a much smaller portion now. The service was not up to the usual standards and our drinks, now overpriced, were both dreadful! If this is what the new chef brings to Roy’s I am not sure we will be back.

our table of five all ordered various fish main courses and all five were cooked to perfection, not always easy with fish. The appetizer courses were less successful - the special sushi had mushy rice and must have been prepared in advance as it was quite soggy. The duck tacos weren't a huge success. The lobster pot stickers were delicious but would be better steamed than fried. Wine list was not all that extensive but was interesting. We were all struck by the genuinely nice and concerned staff throughout the restaurant.

Roy's is one of the best places to take someone for a Birthday or go for a Anniversary. They treat you so special. From the valet to the busboy it is nonstop first class service. You even get a menu greeting when you tell them it's a special day. We will be back soon. Plus the food is tops too. We have dined at Roy's in Hawaii and the Rancho Mirage restaurant doesn't miss a beat. A must if you are in the area.

last evening we went to Roy's on a lucky whim. I had a shrimp salad and a Thai inspired lobster bisque..both were so divine, we cancelled another reservation and tried Roy's again for later in the week...no such luck. My husband felt the same about his salad and ribs. We each had an amazing Hawaiian martini,...our server/bartender Jerome was a pleasure. We hate to wait, but will risk returning another night without a reservation, and crossing our fingers.

This was our first time at Roy's & we would not go back. Must say, some of the food was indeed excellent, really top notch (butterfish entrée, Maui wowie salad, friend rice), but some was only average (tempura sea bass, white rice, Cesar salad). Whatever ambiance the place might have had was sadly blotted out by the noise level. In it's extreme efforts to be outstanding, the service was instead overly attentive & pretentious. It felt scripted, mechanical & super efficient rather than comfortable or friendly. We were quite disappointed.

Have dined at several Roy's restaurants in the US and this one did not fail to impress. Although the restaurant was busy, I had requested a quiet table (due to hearing problems we asked to be away from the kitchen) and although it was difficult to do, the hostess acknowledged our request and did the very best to accommodate. We were called by name by the wait staff and he was very helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding (as usual) and our evening with friends was a complete success.

We were in Palm Springs with my sister and her husband celebrating our Anniversaries. Both couples had Roy's gift cards from Christmas and decided to use them there as a special treat. The Spring Rolls were burned and tasteless. The sauce was supposed to be sweet and sour. All we tasted was sour. The Sushi roll on the other hand was fabulous. For dinner my sister ordered Salmon, but specified "No Sauce". The meal came in a pool of sauce. When we pointed it out, the server called the manager over who apologized and took the plate back to the kitchen. Within 3 minutes the same plate was presented with the same pier of fish. When they brought a new meal we had all finished our. WRONG!

We love eating at Roy's for birthdays and special occasions. And thought what a great place to spend our 28th Anniversary. We started by ordering an appetizer that didn't come out as described? It stated fresh salmon, hamachi and another dish but came out as a roll deep fried with sesame. I'm allergic to sesame but it didn't say anywhere on the description that it was in it? I should of told the waiter but he seemed to busy and spent very little time with us and I forgot to tell him. The rest of our dinner was ok. My steak was over cooked and chewy. My husbands trio was ok but nothing special. I'll chalk it off as an off night for them. We will be back hoping for the best.

The food is still well prepared, with fresh ingredients, and very tasty. The butterfish is a signature dish, and we ordered it in lettuce cups as an appetizer (my companion's main.) There were three cups, with small but decent sized filets of butterfish. We also ordered the sampler platter, which was a good supplement to the butterfish. I ordered the rib eye on the bone. Roy's does it well by trimming the steak, making it a true rib "eye" and allowing for a thicker steak for the weight. The result is a nice char on the medium rare ribeye. The pasta and cheeses (very rich mac and cheese) uses cavatappi pasta, which is great for the cheesy sauce. Be aware it thickens as time goes bye, but it is still tasty. No room, so no desserts.
