Roy's Rancho MirageDelicious Dinner and Great ServiceDaniella was our server. She was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. We were there for a friend's Birthday. The restaurant provides a dessert and photo, nice touch. They don't usually email photo, but Daniella took our email and had the manager send it to us the next day. The prix fix dinner is a good value and substitutions (with an upcharge for more exp items) were no problem. The Filet Mignon was excellent. Joe our waiter, Cameron and Pam the managers, couldn't have been nicer to her. First the dinner was excellent and well presented and then the dessert tray even included, written in chocolate, a happy birthday personal message. Every one made iver her. I especially liked the mussel and clam h'orderves. My main course was shrimp and hers was macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi. Both were delicious. Our reservations on a Thursday night were at 7:00. We were seated promptly even though they were crowded. It was noisy because of the crowd. It may have been better if we had gone at five thirty or six. Their desserts came with their names written on the plates in chocolate. We had a group of 8 and 4 of them were kids. They had a toy chest for the kids to pick out a toy which I thought was just great. It was our anniversary and they had a nice keepsake letter on the table commemorating the evening . They took a picture of our group and gave it to us in a little frame. Now as for the food, WOW! The butterfish was so good and even though this is a seafood place, their hangar steak was really unbelievable. This is a restaurant that does not disappoint. Every time we go to the desert we go to Roy's.. Oh, and the service is top notch all the way around. When I arrived, they had a special, pre-printed personalized menu wishing me Happy Birthday! A very nice touch. Server was knowledgeable and professional. My opakapaka was "just not right", and it was replaced very efficiently with a terrific macadamia-crusted mahi mahi. I was presented with a beautiful personalized dessert consisting of chocolate chip ice cream sandwich (with Blue Bell ice cream - yum!), and mango sorbet as well.
