  • "Roy's is an amazing place to eat an amazing meal. We love to come here for an evening out and special occasions."

  • "A very nice evening with outstanding food and service. Special attention for a Birthday member in our party was well done."

  • "I was disappointed in the food. Price wise this restaurant can be compared to other high end restaurants, and the ambiance was nice. But the food was hit and miss. Lobster potstickers were pretty good; lobster pot pie was disappointing...not much flavor. Chilean sea bass was ok. Vegetable tempura was heavy on the breading, not real light; and cold. Dessert was wonderful....chocolate souffle. Since it was our anniversary, they had a small display on the table wishing us HA. Very nice touch. We'd give it another chance because of the service. Taylor was our waiter, but the other staff was also excellent."

  • "Roy's is my go-to special occasion restaurant. The seafood is always the best in Dallas, the wines are excellent, and the service is always the best. I had the Dynamite Baked Hawaiian Moonchong (fish) for the first time, and was blown away. It was one of the best seafood dishes I've ever eaten. The tempura bok choy was unusual, mostly because I'm not a big bok choy fan, and it was pretty good, too. I DEFINITELY recommend the Maui Wowie Shrimp Salad - that's another one I'll be having again and again. I would place Roy's as one of the five best restaurants in Dallas."

  • "We love all of the tastes so much that we get several appetizers so we can savor all of the flavors."

  • "We requested a booth, but the request was not seen from Open Table. Please correct. Thanks!"

  • "I didn't enjoy the food at all. The lobster mac and, cheese, was bland, with no distinctive taste, could even taste the lovster. I did love the opakapaka, it was worth it, but butterfly and salmon, we're just ok. Dinner was 240$ for 2 people. I wouldn't eat there again, not worth the value of the, cost."

  • "Never heard of Roy's before, much less of Hawaiian Fusion; however, this was a wonderful find thanks to Open Table. The appetizers were wonderful, the drinks creative (the Jalapeño Margarita is a must for the brave of heart!), and the entres amazing. Service is fantastic, constant without being intrusive and quite accommodating to our special requests. Will definitely go back to Roy's Plano next time I am in the Dallas neighborhood."

  • "started in the bar with drinks and bites...the Kobe beef burger is the absolute BEST ever anywhere! Will do this again since it's only on the bar menu..."

  • "Food was outstanding & service was great. Only thing is their dollar sign rating on here is wrong, it should be listed as (3) $$$ instead of (2) $$"

  • "Have been many times and will continue to return. Always Great Food and Wonderful Service."

  • "Such a versatile restaurant...the bar is vibrant, the restaurant is social or romantic. We ate at the kitchen and opted for a more social atmosphere. We were promptly seated and knew what we wanted to order as we had studied the online menu. Everything we ordered was perfectly timed, the perfect temperature, the perfect doneness, and tasted excellent! Lobster potstickers came first and were perfectly presented and cooked. Highly recommend the apple walnut salad. It comes with feta, but I opted for bleu cheese, which added a great taste. Of course, the petite filet and butter poached lobster was heavenly, but barely beat out by the chocolate soufflé and espresso! Enjoy...we will be going back soon!"

  • "Small group of 7 went on a Monday night. Not too busy when we arrived, but very active by the time we left. Service was just about perfect...not overbearing, not absent for too long a time. Food was, well it was what I've come to expect from Roy's: Exceptional all around. From the appetizers to the main courses (we elected to go "family style" all around, and that worked out really well for us) to the desserts, it was a really really great experience. Not sure I'd take a large group on a late-week or weekend night, but it worked well for our business discussions. I will not hesitate going again, large group or for a date."

  • "Some of the best seafood and desserts in Dallas. But restaurant is so dark, it is hard to read the menu."

  • "Love the atmosphere at Roy's and the drink menu is creative and fun. Started with the calamari which was excellent. Trio of Roy's fish entrees (miso salmon, nut-encrusted mahi mahi, and butterfish) was a great entree that lets you sample some of Roy's favorites. Coming back to try the lobster pot pie. My side was truffled bacon mac and cheese which was wonderful. Of course we had the chocolate souffle for dessert, a perfect finish. Service was extremely friendly and attentive."

  • "While the service still outstanding, food quality has gone down since my last visit. The edamame was cold and dry... the entree I got i.e. "Thai Style Chicken" was dry and tasteless. Not going back again."

  • "Have been to several Roy's. This one, as well as others, has delicious food. Lobster dumplings were very good, altho only 1 of the 5 actually tasted like lobster. Walnut apple salad was phenominal. They easily accommodated my requests to change fish dish & veggie. Opakapaka with crushed macadamias instead of almonds; so yummy! Preodering the pineapple upsidedown cake was suggested by server Ted & SO WORTH IT! He was very helpful with menu and very friendly. Mgr stopped by twice to make sure we were happy. Will definitely be back!"

  • "This is not Trader Vic's and I wasn't expecting that. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Hawaiian fusion dishes. I certainly recommend this restaurant for a different experience than the run-of-the-mill dinning experience. The manager knows here wine selection very well."

  • "Great food, wonderful atmosphere. Reminded me of places in Maui. I looked around and saw families with children. Butterfish is an absolute must along with.pineapple cake dessert. Try the maitai too, that was paradise."

  • "Whether it is a special occasion or simply a dining special that grabs we never has been disappointed. This was no different. Except, the server, Tyler, did an awesome job in taking care of us. In fact, my wife was one step away from inviting him to join us. Now that is a server. :)"

  • "We go to Roy's on special occasions. The service is always fantastic. The food was delicious as usual, though we were a little surprised at how some of the portion sizes for the fish have gone down significantly. This is a sign of the times, I'm sure, but still a bit of a surprise given the pricing. Overall, we were still very glad that we went."

  • "Opakapaka was fantastic - felt like I was back in Maui. The salt and pepper calimari appetizer was delicious as well. Top that off with great service and yummy cocktails and you have the perfect evening!"

  • "The server was off his game. He took drink orders for first guests to arrive and didn't return to take our order until he came to take dinner order. One of the entrees was incorrect but they offered to replace it. Just took awhile. Asked to have two separate tickets when we ordered. Brought one. Asked him to split them. Got them incorrect and there was even a dessert on there that no one in our group ordered. He finally got them right. Just a bad experience. Food was good but descriptions of Chef's Specials was somewhat deceiving. Not our best Roy's experience."

  • "We dined with our daughter's family that includes a 2 yr old. The staff was so nice as they provided a complimentary plate for the child containing raw vegetables, fruit, a cheese quesadilla and a dish of ice cream. She was also given the opportunity to pick from a selection of small toys to keep her occupied. This gave us an opportunity to enjoy our meals and get the child used to going to a nice restaurant. Our meals were enjoyed by all. Another reason why we enjoy dining at Roy's."

  • "The food simply just did not blow me away. We shared 3 different appetizer sushi rolls and frankly, they were just average...very disappointing. I was expecting better. As for dinner itself, filet mignon was excellent and the Butterfish was quite good as well. "

  • "I love Roy's! Wonderful food options and specials. Happy hour is a great deal, especially with their choices of cocktails and appetizers. I always enjoy my entree and leave the restaurant saying, "I'd order that again". It's one of the best kept secrets in Dallas."

  • "This is the "perfect" combo: bad food, bad service and outdated ambience. Do not trash your money @ this Roys ! "
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Not a good value for the money. The portion was a size of an appetizer at the prices of a steak. Went away hungry after paying 100.00 for two. Went home to cook on Mothers Day!"

  • "Wonderful food and service. Never once had I asked to get things refilled. I had the trio and out of the three fishes, and all three fishes were cooked to perfection. Nice touch with the side of rice. It was very savory! Will be coming back. "

  • "We went and had never been the restaurant has been there a while and I think they still have the same decor that they had when they opened. We had a reservation for 8:45 but weren't seated until 9pm. Even though there were open tables and booths and we got sat at a table when a booth was open. I guess you had to pay extra for that part. The food was ok but very expensive for what you get."

  • "The blend of Hawaiian and Asian flavors makes for a wonderful meal experience. The chocolate soufflé or pineapple upside down cake are made just prior to being served and provide a rich sweetness that finishes off perfectly the spice and citrus seafood or Asian inspired sauce on a perfectly cooked steak."

  • "We always like to visit Roy's when in the Plano area and this visit again did not disappoint. The Spring trio of pepper crusted ahi, shrimp and a petite filet was enjoyed by both of us and was probably one of the most enjoyable meals we have ever had at Roy's. Too bad it is only available for a limited time!!"
