  • "The blend of Hawaiian and Asian flavors makes for a wonderful meal experience. The chocolate soufflé or pineapple upside down cake are made just prior to being served and provide a rich sweetness that finishes off perfectly the spice and citrus seafood or Asian inspired sauce on a perfectly cooked steak."

  • "We always like to visit Roy's when in the Plano area and this visit again did not disappoint. The Spring trio of pepper crusted ahi, shrimp and a petite filet was enjoyed by both of us and was probably one of the most enjoyable meals we have ever had at Roy's. Too bad it is only available for a limited time!!"

  • "My wife and I had "the canoe " for shared appetizer, the Internet special for the main course and the chocolate/peanut butter molten cake for dessert. Just wonderful! Great evening."

  • "This is my third time to Roy's. The food is amazing and service is always great. VERY GOOD!"

  • "Food great as usual. I could eat everything on this menu!We dine often; my fave rest New menu- why combine wine/ food then hand us two more menus? Seating: we sat in front of the kitchen door. my back was facing kitchen. I got bumped constantly. Valet: totally unacceptable. We pulled up, the valet stepped forward as if to open my door. But he didn't, he was texting. He looked up startled & went around to driver side; phone in hand. He pulled our truck up still texting. When we left he was sitting in his car parked in the front spot w our keys."

  • "This is the best meal that I've had in a long time. I highly recommend Roy's to anyone."

  • "The food & service were top notch. Everything was prepared as requested. The spring trio was excellent. The seasonings & sauces complemented the food flavors which were also complemented by the wine recommendation. Quiet enough to have a conversation even as the room became full. Been there before, will go back again, & yet to be disappointed."

  • "Neat place and heard good things from a friend about Roy's. Food presentation is very good but taste is bland. Really disappointing and hope they can turn it around."

  • "We have dined at Roy's numerous times and we are never disappointed. The food and service always exceed expectations no matter what."

  • "I go to Roy's couple of times a year. I always order filet mignon --- as always, it is tender, juicy and melts in your mouth. Don't forget to get the chocolate souffle, it takes a lot of time but worth the wait."

  • "Another great visit to Roy's. The best place in Dallas for a little Hiwaiian ambience. I always start with Mai Tais, and they did not disappoint. Along with the drinks, I had barbecue smoked pork ribs. Again, great! For the entree I tried Lobster Pot Pie. A large pot pie, with crispy vegetables and lots of lobster in a not overly rich broth. The waiter described the top crust as flaky, but I thought is was somewhat gooey. I'm supposed to be going light on carbs, so I wouldn't have eaten much of it either way. For dessert we shared chocolate soufflé and pineapple upside down cake, both excellent."

  • "Roy's is fine dining. Had I known that sooner, I wouldn't have waited so long to try it. The service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic. We will go back again soon."

  • "I was not impressed with their specialty butterfish or lobster mac dishes. The specialty pineapple based martini was the best menu item I had for dinner."

  • "We try to go to Roy's at least every other month. It is always superb in service and food. The server is most knowledgeable about the menu. Great on giving you suggestions. The fish is always wonderful. They do a terrific job!!"

  • "Roy's provides a great ambience with excellent food for those looking for a different option to cookie cutter places to eat. From sushi to sides to entrees and desserts - there is something for everyone. There are two menus: one you can get at any Roy's and another created by the local chef."

  • ""Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine" translates into "there is at least one ingredient you won't recognize" (check out their menu). Half the fun is experimenting so go for it although I would strongly recommend the fish over the meat entrees. Butterfish was excellent, cooked to perfection but the sauce, for me, was a little on the sweet side (that Hawaiian effect) but not overwhelming. Service was great although the waitperson was not that knowledgeable about the ingredients, or the fish. We asked for and got a fairly quiet table in the side room as the main section is really noisy and it was Saturday. I would recommend Roy's because the menu is really, really different and the food is very good."

  • "We had a nice time overall. My only complaint was that after encouraging us to start with a Hawaiian Martini one of them was barely half full. At north of ten dollars each we were disappointed to begin the evening. They tasted good, but neither the bartender nor the waiter should have served a half full drink. We selected two expensive wines by the glass to go with our meals and again the pours were barely adequate I'd not measly. The food was very good, the portions were just right, and the edamame to start the meal was a very nice complimentary feature. We will return but they are skimping on the drink serving sizes despite charging a premium for alcohol."

  • "Roy's never disappoints with it's canoe appetizer and blackened ahi tuna."

  • "Roy's is an interesting place...Food was very good, had the Mahi and the spicy seafood hot pot. The service was a little off and given that the restaurant was very slow it should have been better. Atmosphere is stale...nice place but won't be returning."

  • "This is a lovely restaurant and is very popular. Service is excellent and attentive. However, for $200 for the two of us, I expected pretty near perfection. Both of our sides were either cold or way over salted. My husband's fish was over cooked. We were seated at a table near the front that was right in the middle of foot traffic and it was distracting. There are too many other options in this area to try them again."

  • "We went there for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful meal. The preset menu was great for the night. The only thing that surprised us was that it was pretty noisy for a higher priced restaurant."

  • "The trio was great as usual! The short rib was also very good. I would like to see more chicken options available!"

  • "We enjoyed our meal - food was great (must try the butter fish) and our waiter was attentive and interesting. The menu has great variety and offers dishes you won't find often - refreshing. It was a little loud though, noise level was noticeable."

  • "The staff was very courteous and attentive. The food was good but much better can be had for the price. Maybe we just need some guidance. I started with a caesar salad which came out with an imperceptible amount of dressing. I don't care to use much dressing in salad but there was so little I don't know why they bothered. I had Filet and Lobster but was surprised by how little flavor the filet delivered. The lobster was better but still left me wanting. We had lobster dumplings as an appetizer which I didn't care for that much but my wife enjoyed. She had a ribeye and allowed me to sample it which was really very good, definitely the best food of the night. For dessert we had macadamia nut bread pudding, which was a delight! Excellent!"

  • "Our table was ready when we arrived which is always a happy surprise especially at prime time on Saturday. The waiter was very nice and informative. The food was just as he described. I have eaten at other Roy's including the original and they are always great."

  • "The food and service here are always wonderful. The blackened ahi is always our favorite. The canoe appetizer never disappoints. There is a very good kids menu which my son always enjoys too."

  • "The food selection was awesome, every dish is special and every bite was delicious. I had an older male waiter who was exceptional slow and inattentive. My 20 minute dessert took 35 minutes to make and although it was a Hawaiian Treat the portion size was small and not worth the expensive price tag. Between the wait time and small portion the desserts are over prices."

  • "This resturant is quaint, romantic and an excellent place for any occasion. The chief is excellent, waiters are knowledgable and helpful and the noise level is minimal. Great Find!!"

  • "Long a favorite for a special night out, this visit was disappointing. Service remained above average, but food quality left much to be desired. Actually, everything - my lamb chops and my wife's fish dish - was so over-salted it was impossible to sense or evaluate any other nuances or flavors of the dishes. The wine list, though limited, was broad enough to fit the bill, and the ending cup of coffee may have been the highlight of the evening."

  • "We have been to several Roy's restaurants. The food has always been excellent. At this location the choices were by far the most extensive we have ever see,and partaken. So the choices were excellent the service nice, but near the end a little slow, and the food a cut above the already Roy's excellence. Our only complaint was the decor. Not very bright or vibrant . There were two walls completely bare which could accommodate one of the lively bright Hawaiian prints like we see in Arizona. This one was exactly like the one we visited in Florida, also walls a little dull. In addition the manager made numerous rounds to ask how meals were going and twice he neglected our table. .?? We are often in Plano, our son lives a few blocks away."
